I collect Diaclone-inspired MPs, and I love that he didnt have the Autobot insignia. The toy-head is also great! Diaclone vibe all over him! I'm going to get him
I picked this up. mostly because I don't like the Takara robot mode, and official price was a bit high for the alt mode. Very happy with it, love the diecast, and so far haven't run into any major problems. I had a difficult time getting the backpack tabbed in, but has stayed since I did. Thanks for the review Sony. Hope the summer is treating you well so far.
Haven't had any of the loose parts issues you had with your copy of the KO myself, though changing out the toy head gave me the fear as that ball peg is scary tight on there.
First Toy House Factory's MP36 KO had the G1 toy style face BEFORE Takara even announced MP36+, now these folks who made the MP56 KO get a G1 toy style head out BEFORE Takara announces their MP56+ (which should be MP58+ since it's Hoist from the waist down, but whatever). Impressive...most impressive. That said, I think I'm gonna have to derail some plans and go for this KO with a quickness...because it won't take long for it to just disappear like how several others did. UPDATE 2023Aug16: Just recently got my copy of the Trailbreaker KO. That dry transfer decal WILL NOT play nice with the hood due to those ridges in the middle. I'm curious if it's easier to have the stock head in place for transformation instead of the toy head?? I almost couldn't get Trailbreaker back into truck mode (and it still ain't great)!!
I have the toy head attached and had no problem transforming to alt mode half an hour ago. I have no issues with tabs not pegging in. If it had the Autobot insignia on the bonnet/hood and I wasn't aware of the increase in weight due to added die-cast metal, I would think that this is the official MP-56. Thanks for the information about the stickers. I was just about to apply them, I don't think I will now. Do you have any clue as to where the other stickers are supposed to go? Are there 'official' places for them, or is it a personal preference thing?
@@UnChannelDuVulpineX That... I'm not sure of. The extra stickers it's supposed to have are black squares that go on the windows; right on the square part of them. I think that it's supposed to give an illusion of less hollowness, but they ain't hiding it, it's almost as bad as Studio Series RotF Megatron.
Might pick this up as I like the mold and figure, just not the all plastic pieces of the original. Plus, at the time, I had both Fans Toys and X-transbots version but sold my X-transbots. I'll probably have to do a little bit of shaving to get the pieces to fit properly but, I've done it with officials as well so this isn't a big deal to me. The front hood not going down far enough is a concern but, I can look to see what's preventing it and possibly fix that as well.
Hey! I recently got into MP collecting, and your channel was a big part of my decision. For the last month, Ive been debating between this KO and the Fanstoys; is the Fanstoys worth more than double this?
I'm with UnChannelDuVulpineX on this. Outrider is a fantastic figure but, I really like the toon look of the Takara Tomy version. Once I got it in hand, it's really hard as Outrider feels so much more premium than this KO version of Trailbreaker. I was originally going to sell Outrider but, I'm now keeping him because of the premium feel. However, that ankle joint is extremely loose and while I can pose him, I have to learn him forward in order to do so. This KO feels cheap but, nothing is wrong with him and everything is good. Put a waterslide decal on him and he looks like the original.
Hi, I could get this KO for 60 and the X-Transbots one for 55. Which do you think is a better buy? Upon just looking at both of them(since I don't have any), my eye seems to like the X-Transbot one more; aesthetically the little bit more girth overall adds to the presence, but since you held both, I'd like to know your opinion.
The issues you have are definitely a "results may vary" situation. Mine doesn't have any issues. I wish the didn't add die cast to the hood. He feels too short next to the other Autobots. If he was larger, it would definitely be my preference over Xtransbots. This KO and Xtransbots are both my preference over Fanstoys.
They sounded like plastic when he hit it against the original, around the 1:55 or so mark. Also had it been rubber, he probably would had mentioned it as that would be different from the original.

Probably not to most people, but to me I prefer the materials and paint of FansToys over the other options
My copy of Outrider (FT-25) has weak ankles, so can't stand up correctly. My copy of this KO MP-56 is flawless.

Between the two I would pick KO, the XTB version looks better overall but the transformation is terrible, if you get the XTB go for the toon version
