Hey Everyone,
In this video, we tried a cuisine that I doubt many people have tried. Hailing from a region many people probably can't even point on a map, Armenia and Georgia have a long complex history which perfectly translates into the food.
Luckily, in Vancouver, we are blessed to have one epic hidden gem dishing out some serious Armenian and Georgian treats. And when we say hidden gem, we definitely need to put emphasis on the HIDDEN part of it! Nestled in an out of the way industrial park, this place was a little tricky to find!
But oooh what a find...

I've started a TH-cam channel exploring food in Vancouver and hopefully around the globe. Let us take you on an adventure to find some of the best eats all around!
My name is Stephan and I am based in Vancouver, BC, Canada... I was born in France but then moved to Canada very young. Growing up as a kid, I developed a strong passion for food through the aromas of my Italian, French and Canadian family kitchen. I do really feel bad for omitting the Georgian food aspect of the video. When looking up this restaurant, it was described as an Armenian restaurant but when I was looking up the dishes, I noticed many did have Georgian origins.
I incorrectly concluded that some of these dishes had become integrated into Armenian culture. As I have now dug deeper, I now realize that some of the dishes are strictly Georgian. As so, I have changed the title and the thumbnail to get a fairer reflection of the food.
This was a learning curve moment for me which will push me to conduct further research into the origins and the history of the food I'm eating in future videos.
When at the restaurant, I did want to ask the owner about the details of the dishes before leaving but all were busy in the kitchen, so I didn't want to disrupt them.
I do wish to extend my apologies to everybody who has a strong passion and connection with Georgian food and culture.
My best wishes to everyone and to a happy 2021.

Great video to highlight some unique dishes from a unique part of the world! It's too bad that you didn't have anyone to show you how to properly eat the khinkali (the soup dumplings) - they are finger foods! hold them "upside down" by the tail so you can nibble at the dumpling and not lose any of the juicy goodness! Next time you'll know better! LOL
Half of them are Georgian food :)

Hey Demna, I work at this bakery and it wasn’t anyones intent to disregard the origins of the cuisines. The owners and employees always tell customers where the food is from and we love Georgian food. The bakery tries to incorporate the multiculturalism that is prevalent in Canada by cooking all kinds of delicious dishes to simply bring people together.
The wonderful creator of this video didn’t know of this since the owners are in fact Armenian. Armenian and Georgian cuisines are very similar and I find that criticizing someone for making such an incredulously small mistake isn’t any means to start a fight and argument over youtube.

Maybe you should ask the owners where the food is actualy from rather than saying its Armenian. I doubt that the makers of that food dont know what country is it from.
