The fact that both Bay Area teams were about to play a World Series game really helped prevent more injuries and even deaths. There was not nearly the amount of traffic on the roads as there would normally be at 5pm.

Can’t believe they even thought there was a chance they were gonna still play that game after the earthquake occurred.

They thought the stadium was alright to play. Thye thought they could just wait for the electricity to come back on. It was after the news of the catastrophes that were going on elsewhere that they decided not to play at that time.

Perfect timing on the earthquake, just moments after ABC went on the air for their coverage of the World Series.

Sitting above 3rd base. A lifetime crammed into 15 seconds.

ESPN were excellent in this. They opted to use their helicopter to help relevant authorities search for the worst damage spots & direct them to them, quickly knowing no game would be played.

a young-er Chris Berman....dude was in his mid 30's by this point. You do see two ESPN originals here though....Bob Ley and Chris Berman......they were there since the channel's inception in 1979. It was such a horrible day.....I remember watching the ABC Broadcast of the WS when this happened. Confusion followed by disbelief and shock

No one would’ve thought he’d be the Yankees skipper seven years later…and lead them to their first World Series win since 1978. Joe was so memorable that his number was retired by the Yankees.

Good thing there wasn’t an earthquake during the 2000 World Series against the Yankees and Mets.

"but in the days of the voice of the seventh messenger, when he may be about to sound, and the secret of God may be finished, as He did declare to His own servants, to the prophets" Revelation 7:10.
The anagram of Jose Canseco's name. Cos jc sea one. Indicates that Jose Canseco is the angel referred to in several ways, due to all the anagrams of his name. Plus Oakland is on the land and San Francisco is on the sea.

The question is, did Saddam know this and attack Kuwait then. Because the passage about Joshua and the moldy bread, might need an over-head supervisor like a SCUD missile, to be "born again."
