    I still go with the heat shrink - mechanically better. All you did here was show that a cold shrink can be put on a few seconds faster.

      Few seconds faster and crap load of $$$ more lol

      Not even though, when have you ever seen heat shrink take that long? They faked it for the video

    • @ChuiStrong
      @ChuiStrong 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't think they faked it, just showing an alternative. it is their heat shrink after all...

      @@ChuiStrongmate, if you take that long to heat shrink, you’re doing it wrong!

      I think the cold version might be useful in some applications

    I'll just leave the one comment actually pointing out that there are specific applications, areas or atmospheres where you can't use an open flame without risk of injury or damage to property.
    The comparison here is mostly for final result. The timer was indeed useless, but the product looked sound.
    Highly likely for the product to not be for personal use. Think more industrial applications.

    Should use blue flame , for fast curing

    This was a joke. That heat shrink could have been applied in half the time and with high quality.

      Also, you can pre-cut the exact amount of heat shrink you need. The cold shrink seems tricky to use as a partial.

    Deceiving advertising, let me show you how to do the heat sink in 20 seconds tops

    Lol if the guy using the torch actually had it on the right setting and used it properly he would be done in 4-5 seconds, 3M just being stupid now

    • @ce2flaco
      @ce2flaco 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What exactly is the "right setting". If he narrows the flame, he'll char the tubing and undermine its effectiveness and longevity. I have used heat shrink for a couple decades and it works very well. That said, the cold shrink products are great and are here to stay. The benifits are many.

      You work from the bottom with a more concentrated flame moving rearward as the material starts to shrink. Once it's hot move to the top and shrink that side while smoothing out any wrinkles. In the video he's frantic with the torch wasting both time and heat input.

      Why? Simply saying it was horrible means nothing. Explain your logic.

      ce2flaco look at the 3m when the timer goes from 40 to 42

    Never been impressed with 3M adhesive tapes applied to LED tape runs either,hopeless adhesive qualities!

    • @KaffiRawr
      @KaffiRawr ปีที่แล้ว

      Unclean surfaces is why real 3M tape could fail. It's user error. I have a GoPro mount on my helmet, and it's been on there for years. Outdoor weather in all seasons. LED strips are commonly low quality with fake branding also.
