      I don`t think he "relaxed". People think that if football players don`t play they don`t do work but that`s not true.
      You still have to
      -follow a training program
      -follow a diet
      -train with the squad every day
      -travel with the squad to all the matches and events
      - do all the personal or club commercial stuff
      etc
      and this is on top of just being bombarded by everybody for being a failure.

    Hazard was too naturally gifted. Mentality wise that messed him up as he didn't need to be coached and he didn't like training. He just relied on his natural ability too much and didn't take preparation seriously enough. When the injuries caught up with him that was it. Very predictable. Real Madrid should've never signed him.

    Hazard was like the bright smart guy in class who hated studying but still excelled. He truly didn't care whether he'd be remembered as a legend, failure or not. He saw football for what it really is, just a game to be had fun with. He don't care about your goat list, your stat analysis, your trophies and your expectation of a mere game player.

      Ronaldo had 2 devastating knee injuries starting at the age of 23 that more or less took him for almost 3 seasons. He was never going to be the same after that so it's a bit unfair to lump him in with the others. We will never know what happens if those injuries don't happen. If anything it's a small miracle he played for as long as he did after those injuries

    The first season at Real, he showed up to preseason overweight. That tells you all you need to know. He didn't feel respect (healthily intimidated ) towards his new club.
    It seemed that he felt his career is complete just by signing for Real.

    I understand what he’s saying. People tend to make the correlation between “natural gifts” and laziness. Hazard probably built a lot of his skills and iq in competition. He built his ability through actively playing not training. I can see how training and doing repetitive drills was mentally draining for him, especially if he had an eagerness to play again.

    I agree hazard should of took it more seriously from the start. Believe injuries played the biggest role. I remember I think it was the PSG champions league game he was balling out for Madrid and then got hurt again real badly. That was a wrap. He actually came back I think a year or two after that in good shape but by then it was too late he lost his explosiveness due to the injuries and wasn’t the same player. Would only show flashes.
