Look, you're basically the community's big brain of stats. Do us all a favour and convince ubisoft to cancel a season to give us a loooong Operation Health 2.
5:40 now image at one point that they introduce that you play 3 rounds as defender and 3 as attacker and map damage doesn't change over those 3 rounds.. and every time an operator is killed he can't be played by the same team.. Sounds cool? After 6 rounds who ever has more wins win the match if it's 3:3 it's draw..
I started playing pretty late in the game and seeing this foreign version of a game I love is SO cool. seeing the crude animations of pure artistic creativity and joy is awesome.
TBH I think a class system would be very cool, I personally like to grind MY character instead of picking a premade character and learning to play it. This is why I never really get into lol or Dota and maybe also why I stoped playing siege. At least they should allow to grind the recruit class. Also I disliked the way they oversimplified the siege part, securing a door with a table would be very cool, and see a atacker blow both up even cooler. But I know this part was for the best since it would be a pain to implement it and the game's optimization would go to a operation health stage. The respawn system could work fine but the actual system is good too. The intel and drone part was for the best too(but the flying drone could stayed, would be a good spawn peek counter). Also the permanent destruction would be cool, they just need to make it like cs(3 atackers rounds then 3 deffender rounds, the destruction resets between the side switch).
@@LocksVid I don't see how what I said would be unbalanced. Class griding could cause some power creep but nothing unplayable(operators already cause it). Cumulative destruction could incentive even more strategy. It could break some actual maps but the devs would create their new maps with it in mind. Barriers are more cosmetic than anything. And spawn peek is a actual problem in game that could be solved as i said. In the end is just how it could have been, but game is good actually. I think it could be better, the video creator thinks it's perfect this way. This is how life works.
Right? It's crazy how some of the fundamentals we know so well were just drawn on a piece of paper 3 years before release as an initial idea. But then on the other side, huge factors like the one-life and hero systems only being developed relatively late!
@@Rogue9 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, Rogue-9 answered me!!! Ahem, I mean... Yes, that is a super interesting insight into their work process. I like how you were able to get so much pre Alpha footage together Also I guess my defense main is magic since what else do you class proxy mines that are 90 percent invisible after they land on a surface and manage to shoot poison darts into someone’s leg (I know the gadget looks like it’s made to be stepped on but the animation is about the leg)

I feel like jackals gadget simulates his knowledge of being a master tracker. The gadget itself doesnt seem too far fetched. A visor that let's you see more detail on the floor. The ping is Jackals tracking expertise at work.
It is pretty far fetched, if you think about it. Whilst seeing footprints with a special visor isn't that outlandish, using a limited sample of those footprints from several minutes ago to instantly identify the exact location of a person (even if they're on the other side of the building/on a different floor) is complete nonsense, whatever way you look at it.
Very interesting video, it is interesting to see how much planning goes into games and how many interesting ideas and concepts get scrapped. But I think that everything scrapped was for the better. Loved the vid, maybe make more like these?
They honestly put so much into this game .. The next generation may never know what siege does to the mind ..the actuality of the game is death Raw broken death Unexplainable death Even when you’re spawn peeked Even when you are know you shouldn’t have died It’s remains beautiful Siege turned me on to the military. There’s no glory among these murders in this game . This game is needed by this society and no one knows it. Keep it alive
I think the damage did to the map can stay for 1 more round but need to be fair to both teams, which means at least 4 rounds players need to play. First round, A team ATK damage to the map stay and need to DEF it in the next round. Then reset, B team ATK and again the damage to the map stay and B team DEF. If the game draw, there will be a 5th round with everything reset. Since it needs you to stay at least 4 rounds so I think it might be good to be a separate casual mode or in ranking.
Did you know the original idea of Blitz was that he (while being the same op of course) would be able to enter the match early, during the prep phase. Hence his name 'Blitz' which means Lightning in German. Fast as lighting.
I wish they kept making ops with gadgets that are used by hand (IQ, Sledge, Echo, Doc) more than gadgets that you just throw/deploy (Dokkaebi, Lion, Lesion, Alibi)
I think that if they want map destruction to carry on to the next round they should reset the map every 2 rounds. My idea is that attacker would be a little more careful if they knew that they would have to defend the objective in the next round. After the 2 first rounds the team that originally defended would be attackers in round 3 so that they would have to be careful of the way of which they choose to use Ex: Round 1: team 1 attackers Team 2 defenders Round 2: Team 1 defenders Team 2 attackers *Map reset* Round 3: Team 1 defenders Team 2 attackers Round 4 : Team 1 attackers Team 2 defenders After this it could be 50/50 who defends first Like if you agree
I’m gonna be honest, I would have loved a class system, moving around furniture, a more comprehensive breaching and barricading system, stacking up on shields, some of those original fortifications to create a far slower, grittier, and realistic tactical shooter. But that’s just me, I still love siege but seeing some of this development footage makes me salivate for the game that could have been.
Permanently dying operators was a feature of the early Rainbow 6 game campaigns. I remember playing one of the early games, Covert Ops, and doing the last mission with recruits because everyone was dead
5:03 he is holding the pistol while he is injured. Maybe Second-chance with pistol was the first concept of injured. And it would be so OP with a nice aim...
the things I would have liked to see: 1. so the environment the only way that would work would be attackers disabling the bomb(which would switch over) and during the shutdown time and the new attacking team would try to stop it or restart it and the only way of getting the same ops would be to live during that round for both sides 2. having a new op that has a smoke or flash drone to stop or stun the defensive team 3.the cams would be only useful if they had hacked the cam feed and disabled the outside access 4.making the furniture useable as reinforcement or walls to block and able to move them on both sides (ps if you read the whole thing thank you and sorry for the long comment )
Man, this game has definitely come an incredibly long way. Hope they bring back some more of these ideas. Incredible to see some of the ops being essentially thrown back to pre-alpha ideas. Just super cool. I think the one thing I stil REALLY want to come back is the dynamic hostage rather than the dummy we have had since launch.
there were 2 features i like. one was the smoke drone and the other is what looked like attackers being able to hide behind a shield ( like in 5:50) instead of just standing behind
as someone who played the early EARLY alpha tests I can confirm that the game was entirely different to what it is today, no operators, no skills (just gadgets), universal loadouts, infinite reinforcements, random recoil patters, and a handful of other small things were in the early game that are no longer present.
I prefer a solid and well-made game with less content than a game-as-service model that introduces (not so much originals) operators who fall into the "black zone". Ubisoft discarded the class-based system because it smelled the success of hero shooters at the time. Competitive FPS's players will be happy, but I preferred the E3 version.

That'll be funny
Seems fun, but I think it's basically impossible since the game now probably shares like 0% of the early development state's architecture
I wish so too dude :/

Yanshine Sandium yes please I want new maps not maps with 10 small mods each that’s going to get old quickly as fuck

That would fix operators like finka and lion
Please do 😂😂

5:40 now image at one point that they introduce that you play 3 rounds as defender and 3 as attacker and map damage doesn't change over those 3 rounds.. and every time an operator is killed he can't be played by the same team.. Sounds cool? After 6 rounds who ever has more wins win the match if it's 3:3 it's draw..
i mean
we already had a class of it

I started playing pretty late in the game and seeing this foreign version of a game I love is SO cool. seeing the crude animations of pure artistic creativity and joy is awesome.
Well now I'm just thinking of an April Fools event where the attackers literally lay siege with seige engines, battering rams, and trebuchets.
That would actually be great. Add in a castle map and boom, you got yourself a solid event
Also the permanent destruction would be cool, they just need to make it like cs(3 atackers rounds then 3 deffender rounds, the destruction resets between the side switch).
apenas um nome de canal it’s not about being “cool” it’s about being balanced
@@LocksVid I don't see how what I said would be unbalanced. Class griding could cause some power creep but nothing unplayable(operators already cause it). Cumulative destruction could incentive even more strategy. It could break some actual maps but the devs would create their new maps with it in mind. Barriers are more cosmetic than anything. And spawn peek is a actual problem in game that could be solved as i said. In the end is just how it could have been, but game is good actually. I think it could be better, the video creator thinks it's perfect this way. This is how life works.
Super interesting Video! Didn't know that Siege had these core concepts down so early in development.
I wonder how they would have felt about their game, if they knew the current state back then?
I also heard that things like the importance of headshots and how the game would be played by the players, was nothing they could foresee.
But one thing I expectet to appear in this video was the cancelled R6 Patriots. didn't that influence their work aswell?
Greetings from Germany!

Barricading doors would have been super cool!
What are these things called doors?
Jinrou Jinjin Legend has it that they were lost when the Library If Alexandria burned.
i love some of these ideas, like shield operators bursting thru the walls and ability to move interior things.
I like how you were able to get so much pre Alpha footage together
Also I guess my defense main is magic since what else do you class proxy mines that are 90 percent invisible after they land on a surface and manage to shoot poison darts into someone’s leg (I know the gadget looks like it’s made to be stepped on but the animation is about the leg)
Yeah, the cloaking part of the mines is pretty sci-fi for sure

I feel like jackals gadget simulates his knowledge of being a master tracker. The gadget itself doesnt seem too far fetched. A visor that let's you see more detail on the floor. The ping is Jackals tracking expertise at work.
It is pretty far fetched, if you think about it. Whilst seeing footprints with a special visor isn't that outlandish, using a limited sample of those footprints from several minutes ago to instantly identify the exact location of a person (even if they're on the other side of the building/on a different floor) is complete nonsense, whatever way you look at it.

Persistent damage would have been a really interesting concept but you do raise some good points. Maybe add it as a custom gamemode.
Very interesting video, it is interesting to see how much planning goes into games and how many interesting ideas and concepts get scrapped. But I think that everything scrapped was for the better. Loved the vid, maybe make more like these?
They honestly put so much into this game ..
The next generation may never know what siege does to the mind
..the actuality of the game is death
Raw broken death
Unexplainable death
Even when you’re spawn peeked
Even when you are know you shouldn’t have died
It’s remains beautiful
Siege turned me on to the military.
A flash shield, hence the name 'Blitz' which means flash in German
Adamast It means lighting, not flash Lol.

6:14 There's the garage that is showing up in Operation Ember Rise TTS...
I wish they kept making ops with gadgets that are used by hand (IQ, Sledge, Echo, Doc) more than gadgets that you just throw/deploy (Dokkaebi, Lion, Lesion, Alibi)
I like gadgets that are #1 at least a plausible concept and #2 are balanced and not super annoying
You mean like Clash, Maverick, Nøkk, Warden, Jackal, Caveira, Capitão, Blackbeard and Buck?
I think that if they want map destruction to carry on to the next round they should reset the map every 2 rounds. My idea is that attacker would be a little more careful if they knew that they would have to defend the objective in the next round. After the 2 first rounds the team that originally defended would be attackers in round 3 so that they would have to be careful of the way of which they choose to use
Ex:
Round 1:
team 1 attackers
Team 2 defenders
Round 2:
Team 1 defenders
Team 2 attackers
*Map reset*
Round 3:
Team 1 defenders
Team 2 attackers
Round 4 :
Team 1 attackers
Team 2 defenders
After this it could be 50/50 who defends first
Like if you agree
Akretes seeing this-
No one remembers pre development siege 😢
Siege should have had doors.
It's one fundamental part of the Rainbow Six series that made tactical gameplay great in early titles

Thanks, glad you liked it! :D
E3 is Expectation (Full)
Gameplay is Reality (No Texture No Shadow No Animation... etc)
I guess ubi is planning to serve these graphics in next game R6 Quarentine.
Permanently dying operators was a feature of the early Rainbow 6 game campaigns. I remember playing one of the early games, Covert Ops, and doing the last mission with recruits because everyone was dead

I think you did
Having unique hero operators come out every season along with new maps definitely made the difference to me
"Intel"
*my mind*
"I think it isn't a CPU"
the things I would have liked to see:
1. so the environment the only way that would work would be attackers disabling the bomb(which would switch over) and during the shutdown time and the new attacking team would try to stop it or restart it and the only way of getting the same ops would be to live during that round for both sides
2. having a new op that has a smoke or flash drone to stop or stun the defensive team
3.the cams would be only useful if they had hacked the cam feed and disabled the outside access
4.making the furniture useable as reinforcement or walls to block and able to move them on both sides
(ps if you read the whole thing thank you and sorry for the long comment )
Jackal's gadget isn't scifi or unrealistic: he can see heat-printed footsteps. Many special forces are using this gear.
That's not the unrealistic part, it's the ping system that goes along with it that makes it sci-fi.
@@cooperbeats9620 didnt it originally come out as he could just see them not scan
Zany Comedy that was lion not jackal
Man, this game has definitely come an incredibly long way. Hope they bring back some more of these ideas. Incredible to see some of the ops being essentially thrown back to pre-alpha ideas. Just super cool. I think the one thing I stil REALLY want to come back is the dynamic hostage rather than the dummy we have had since launch.
Teammate: "reinforcing with furniture"
Me: " *Hiding under the desktop like a creepy monster with Caveira* "
there were 2 features i like. one was the smoke drone and the other is what looked like attackers being able to hide behind a shield ( like in 5:50) instead of just standing behind
as someone who played the early EARLY alpha tests I can confirm that the game was entirely different to what it is today, no operators, no skills (just gadgets), universal loadouts, infinite reinforcements, random recoil patters, and a handful of other small things were in the early game that are no longer present.
