Ready or Not is a good game, but it will never fully scratch the itch of launch siege since it doesnt have pvp (to my knowledge) or destruction to the level of siege
its also really sad seeing the direction VOID took with RON. horrible AI, ai generated art, horrible 1.0 release with a DLC right after, etc. RON feels like a prototype, and it makes me pissed.
Old siege will still hold a place in my heart. It was fun. Current siege is so lost from the original theme, new players can enjoy it but it's sad they wont ever play when siege was at its peak. (That being around parabelum season for me)
Some of the peak seasons in siege for me were velvet shell, Red Crow, chimera, grim sky and blood orchid. Added pretty realistic operators and had solid maps. Lore still felt realistic and we had agog on everything. Ubisoft ruined siege and Tom Clancy as a whole
@JoshR842 chimera was a goated season. Having the event was fun to play and felt like the game wasnt just solely a pvp game and could maybe bring in the coop pve aspect into the game which alot of people would actually love to play but too bad they fumbled that and tried to do react.

@@TakehisaYuji I've discovered siege around that time, but I started playing it in velvet Shell which was the season after red crow. My god it was so good. I remember saving up to buy the crossfaded skin but couldn't manage to get it ☹️
Fortnite is partially at fault here. It gave shooter devs this impression that cameos and character skins are where the money is at. Instead of content and balancing updates. Similar thing happened to Cod.
Here's the most baffling thing about Siege's current direction. They HAD Single player missions. They HAD PvE coop. They RUNINED it through various updates, but then decided to try to go BACK to the gritty feel that their old vision was, and instead of trying to improve the existing single player missions, add more PvE coop missions using the already existing models they made for the cinematics, they just removed both the existing Single Player and coop maps, and replaced them with two inferior "warmup" options
I will always support non realistic decisions that will improve the quality of the game for balancing. However the UwU anime girls and certain pandering really kills it for me.
@@spagettete_obviously that’s not the point, if people want to see anime girls then they should idk, watch anime or play some game like Fortnite, but to be dedicated to being grounded with reality for over 5 years then for them to go and ruin it. It’s pretty clear they only pander because siege is really the only game keeping Ubisoft above water.
I would agree. Like the reinforcements just appearing out of thin air and stuff like that that people used to complain about is fine. Its just like you said the skins and lore that ruins it for me
@@HiItsMars hey, leave the duckies out of this…. But come on bro, there’s a difference between running around with a tiny pickle dangling from your gun then a whole pickle Rick gassing the enemies 💀
Not having realistic-looking ops is what kills it for me. I first started to play R6 back before Blackbeard came out and it was great to see how much they tried to copy somewhat accurate attire for ops. Honestly, that part of the game alone helped me stay even with the constant 200ms ping on asia servers (they had very few datacenters in asia back then. You had to force it to connect to the lowest ping server via notepad).
I started back in white noise, and I played for quite a while. But Holy shit I tried not too long ago, and they have literally ruined everything about the game. Couldn't play it
For me the game died when they completely removed the original house map from the game. Yes it wasn't a great map, but not even being able to play the original house map on custom matches just killed the game for me and my friends. The original house was like R6S's very own 2Fort. It wasn't great but it was a map with charm.
I returned to Siege about 7 years after I left, and lemme tell you, the skins they have now make it so much harder to identify operators. The crossover skins are particularly bad since it literally changes who the op is, or changes their look so drastically, I can't tell who they are (those Rick & Morty skins, my god). Whenever I kill someone wearing one of these outfits, I'm always like "Okay, I got... someone" rather than "Okay, I got Jager". I always say you had to have been there when the skin released in order to tell who it's supposed to be. You'd remember a new skin came out for, say, Ash and know it's supposed to be Ash wearing one of the new outfits. For new or returning players, we weren't there for its release and we're left guessing who it's supposed to be.
bro I play fairly decent and it still fucks up your aim when holding a pixel peak and Rick's monstrous greyish blue hair spikes enter your FOV... All of those spikes are as big as a head and the head of rick and morty are twice the size of a normal head and I have no idea where I should aim...
Trying to make the game lore heavy while being a multiplayer only was a mistake. It's like trying to give CS:GO a deep lore and trying to make sense of everything that's happening in game. They tried to do what Overwatch did by being a lore heavy multiplayer game. Difference is that whole premise of Overwatch was bright and colorful heroes with unique personalities interacting with each other. Meanwhile R6 is about counter terrorism unit doing hostage rescues and bomb defusing. They should've just added a single player campaign if they wanted to add lore to the game
Couldn't agree more. If they're spending so much time building a storyline and lore then where is that in the game? Aside from the goofy cinematics that I skip every season, the "lore" is completely absent from the game. In fact they've removed useful lore concepts like Ela and Zofia attributes. I was always hopeful that eventually the game's lore would coincide with the release of a multi-player co-op missions mode where you battle the White Masks, like Article 5 mission at Bartlett University. It wasn't perfect but I played that over and over for the fun of having an extended mission while matchmaking with random people and having a blast. Where is that story line? Why did we go from that to operators with robot arms, cyborg operators, fantasy space weapons, etc.
I wish they would let you turn skins off. I love the original idea of real counter terrorism units coming together to train with eachother and fight real threats. And having each season be based around a new country would have been super cool. I just hope that ubi will give us a proper rainbow six game at some point
Every game loses its identity as soon as they bring in competitive game tournaments like Esports. Siege went from playing tactically with friends to lean spamming and pixel peaking. Cod went from playing with friends trying to level up and get to the highest prestige, to power sliding, diving and sweating. Fortnite went from a fun arcade type battle royal, to sweat building. All games die, when they get too competitive.
From what I’ve seen. Half the time it’s when they force the competitive side onto the casual side, and the other half when they start putting in content that goes against the original theme of the game.
"In a game built specifically for PvP competition, it sucks that other players are better than I am." -Translated by Google Translate Straight up just a skill issue my boy.
@@Chanse1989 but in all seriousness. The “competitive” players that I deal with throw fits and sabotage games when you use a weapon that is to good in a pve side mode because they think you don’t deserve the kills. Or when they get items reworked because they can’t get easy kills against players that use them thus making them useless in non competitive.
Back in like 2017-2018 when i tought of the most realistic tactical game it was r6 siege, it was my favorite game ever back then, look at what they did to my boy.
I miss when seasons had themes, each season had its own art and theme inspired by the country of origin for the new ops, or the operation as a whole in the case of Outbreak and Grim Sky, from the maps, the weapons the ops are using which is also used by their CTUs, the music, the animated intro main screen we used to have (press any key), and the seasonal weapon skins themselves, after 2019, it all went downhill not just the balancing, but thematically as well, you can really see it with the battle pass, I don't remember a single battle pass that has a consistent theme across all its items, it just shows that they put random bundles to fill the BPs, and don't get me started with the universall weapon skins included there, they are awful And the name change, the awful UI, the operator designs (which got really good I won't lie), the map reworks that get rid of what made the old map unique (Oregon), god, what with Ubisoft downgrading the things that made me love their games
Removing the old maps was really the nail in the coffin for them especially house it was the 1v1 and 2v2 map for fun. They could've had twice the amount of content but ruined it 😂
I remember when i was in the marines my buddies got so hyped when cav and cap were released because one was from brazil and the other's parents were from brazil. It was so cool actually learning things about different countries through rainbow.
When it comes to realistic aesthetics, what the devs should do is something similar to MWIII where the base design of operators features a "mil-sim" design while the DLC outfits are more unrealistic
I left the game after the season where Flores dropped because of school and just a lack of desire to keep relearning maps and ops. Coming back in 2024 before the skopos season I felt like I had never even touched the game other than I remembered some maps
As a fan of Rainbow Six since 1998, this sounds like a woman who got a man to get a divorce, married him, then gets surprised when he cheats on her a few years later. Brother, the identity was lost a decade ago.
To me the most disappointing part about the lore is the overall pacing. They deploy the story over the course of a year using one CGI animation, 4 short animations and 4 comics. While the animations are connected to the comics withhin the same season, they seem to barely relate outside of the season. It is almost like writers want to explore a cool story about a character but they get distracted by their new favourite toy (the next operator). An example would be nighthavens absence while team rainbow was hunting deimos. Considering the trouble he caused nighthaven I expect nighthaven to do more than to wait until deimos is arrested to show up again inform of having osa being the creator of talos and colossus.
You'd think that a PMC like Nighthaven, whose actions at times are definitely morally and legally questionable, would try to off the guy who caused them so much trouble... but apparently not.
Siege before felt like operators going against operators, Siege now seems like a gang of crackheads fighting another gang of crackheads after they all took a trip to comicon and someone dared to start an argument about waifus
I kinda miss the dark and misty atmosphere from back then. At times it had the thrill of a horror game when you entered a building. And the more realistic recoil was cool imo. It felt less like CoD. That was cool! I still love playing Siege tho.
When i first started to play i only played on fridays and weekends so during the week when i was at school all i could think during my breaks was how excited i was to play siege. One thing i remember is that i used to love looking at all the different special forces and the weapons they used and seeing that in game. I was so fascinated by how each country had their own CTU own weapons, uniform and history. I would look up the real CTUs in real life and it would just make me want to play siege more. So the new direction that the game is taking does make me a little sad because it really enhanced my game experience
I from Portugal and waited years for an operator and a map. We got Tubarao that doesn't represent nothing related to Portugal and a generic map with an unknown location...
The tried to tie the lore with multiplayer, which is hard to get right. They should've made a story mode for the lore like a campaign, and just have the multiplayer as this "what if" scenario
If Ubisoft cared about their fans, they'd make an E3 version of Siege with a new engine and build current siege off that but make current siege free. Also, giving an e3 version of siege a level based pve would be cool.
I always thought it would be cool to have operator specific/exclusive charms, because you would be able to show character and personality with that and having them bright and colourful.
I left the game for this reason, I didn't like how they were twisting R6's identity and didn't like many technical moves either. It breaks my heart because I've tried to play the game again but I just don't feel the soul it used to have, that thing that made it special and made it stand out above other games.
Very well said, thank you. What I liked, that the operators had a little bit hidden identity in the beginning, with masks and helmets and all that special force stuff.
I don't see why not. Knowing how irrelevant to gameplay the lore has become I doubt they'd even remove them from the game. It's simply for the cinematics and comics they're making.
I remember being sooooo excited for Patriots. I read about it in my GameInformer. I think that game was canned because it was an entire game about a terrorist organization (and supposedly some Rainbow Operators) kidnapping and threatening to kill greedy CEOs and high level individuals in society due to their actions and choices. So I bet a lot of stuffed shirts at Ubisoft felt uncomfortable about it and decided to trend chase when hero shooters were getting bigger so they canned Patriots. At least that’s what I think happened
It looks like there's a continuing wrestling match between the dev team trying to maintain the original vision, and Ubisoft executives impulsively chasing the latest trends.
As someone who played other Rainbow Six games, I feel that Siege itself is a loss of identity for Rainbow Six. One that, in some weird and roundabout way, kinda got sorta back with Extraction (if we ignore that the enemies are an alien virus, not bio-terrorists). So, in some way, I am actually GLAD that some of the old characters now return in some fashion, as it gives, at least storywise, Rainbow Six part of its history back (still, no more Ding Chavez - and no, John Conor Chavez, either), as Siege just felt so... disconnected and unrelated to me until then.
No no, they fucked up by using the same build for esports as for consumers. So consumers watch the esports and see their strats and thus Ubisoft have to balance it for the esports crowd. But the reason I stopped playing was the fucking lack of support for solo players. Every time an operator is decent enough for solo play, it gets abused in esports aaaand now the op is nerfed. The final nail was the fucking operator vote dealio
Not having a campaign mode was the main reason I didn't buy the game until like five or six years after release(I got it on sale). When I do play the game, everything is just so weird. They do the same thing that Call of Duty does. Break any immersion you were already struggling to have with goofy skins and super powers that in no way reflect the vision Tom Clancy would have had. I'll play the game casually every now and then and it can be fun but I don't really see it as anywhere near what Rainbow actually was.
the explanation for this is simple, new management came in, demanded Siege start printing money like fornite and COD. Everything but the skins and microtransaction department got cut to the bone, the story was butchered to accommodate the 'general audience' and the in game cash shop. The fact that siege was destroyed in the process and us a shell of its former self is being drowning out by the oceans of money being generated by these scummy tactics
I remember trying to get a team of people interested in tactics. But unfortunately everyone has that supersoldier mentality. All they have to have is wits and a fast reaction time with precise aim. The whole idea of siege was Special weapons and tactics. However the headshot shit began early. Even I have an old video reel of someone trying to spawn peek in Oregon and I flick one shot them with a pistol. It became a peek fest. It is a tactic for defenders to utilize everything to their advantage but shield users were severely underpowered in the game. But again it's all about tactics. If I were to change Siege back into a tactical game I would have the gadgets installed on a map before you spawn in. There is far too little time for people to setup the map a certain way and far too little time to execute the operation for the attacking team. It turned into a hot mess when they introduced banning an operator (it is why I left and never came back since.) But again the game was ruined by so many players trying to turn siege into another call of duty, where the traps were an after thought. I get that they needed to have something to identify the traps. But in a real world situation the defenders would want the traps as hidden as possible. The people who ruined the game the most were the toxic players. Siege should have stayed true to its origins and not released map specific operators. Instead they should have stuck to the original plan and just updated the old operators to have different abilities unlocked through time. I haven't played the game since they started the whole ban thing so forgive me if I haven't even watched any gameplay of this game since. But I would have had a progression system similar to metal gear online. Such as for ash: if you keep getting killed within a minute of running and gunning she should get armor and get speed reduced. Making her hard to kill with bullets but not taking away any weapons. For fuse, with his grenade launcher, if you keep killing yourself with your own grenade launcher it should have the grenades set to a certain direction, but launching them further away. If you keep getting your Thermite pads electrocuted by blitz then you should have the fuze blow up immediately when electrocuted. They should have evolved the technology they were using. If the twitch drone kept getting shot down too easily then the drone should be slower, more quiet, but harder to kill. And instead of zapping the enemy to alert presence she should have it go completely invisible in a corner so that, even in the event of the enemy being notified of getting spotted all of the time looking to destroy her drone they would have to resort to using a grenade to get rid of it at a corner. At the same time when Mira's mirror keeps getting zapped off there should be a way to keep it forever locked in place so that they cannot open the mirror, but it is much larger, forcing a peeker to use the sides or to shoot at the feet of the attackers. But the window can't be broken down. Another defender, rook, if his plates aren't good enough because his team is getting head shorted he should give the defenders a helmet similar to what counterstrike has. It can take a few bullets before it gives the headshot. They should have evolved the technology but had the progression system of metal gear online. It is through experience over time that evolves their technology. If the window God was too much then tachanka should have had a boost to his armor on his Gatling gun so he could cover that window by allowing him to crouch with it. There was so much promise with that game but they opted for banning an operator or taking out grenades. Come on.
I've played since y8 s1 but can tell the game really started to become a hero shooter or a unrealistic game when iana released. But its officially been gone since sens released.
I just realized we have this great video, You speak everything in my mind, I quit r6s because I feel like I play Valorant more than r6s, and I love how they don't care about casual players before, everything in this game will turn noob into Gigachad, but rn they nerf everything include iconic of that gadget Because someone just cry from can't find the damn yokai drone and ubisoft be like: OMG!!! U RIGHT!! IT TOO OP!!!!, btw I didn't surprise how chaos in ubisoft now cuz they just shoot they own feet.
The saddest thing is that all of this flies in the face of the first parts of Siege's name. Which, is frequently omitted, because of how disconnected they are! RAINBOW SIX. AN ESTABLISHED UNIVERSE. Completely tossed away.
every long running tittle has to evolve to keep its audience, skins are part of that, nobody would pay for recolor skins, they want different uniform, animated skins. siege is still a toned down version of other shooters compared to other games like cod, it's full blown animated galore, and not a military fps game anymore
Honestly it isn't a matter of it WILLINGLY toning that down. It's most likely if they added the crazy shit you see in Valorant or COD the game would shit itself. That or the new skins would just make you invisible as they tend to have some every update they add any.
You know I remember back then my friend recommended Rainbow Six Siege and I honestly liked it because I had a tactical military type of gameplay and it felt more realistic now I don't even barely play the game anymore I just can't get myself to play it bro ever since the new season with the robot it just doesn't feel right
I like how the game is now but it was also very good before nothing like It, it showed a new side of competitive shooters. Very realistic and competitive in the sense you were actually immersed and felt like you were a actual operator I could see me and my friends liking it way more than how siege is now but both are good
Goodbye Siege, you've been a fun and loyal friend until someone decided your time was up ! Now only remains memories of my different teammates over the years and those who I spent so many days with. Used to wake up, launch Siege and get in VC with them all day/night long. Hope yall are doing great boys. Sometimes I miss when this game used to reunite us because that's what it wanted us to do. To reunite and have fun, not to divide and cry on what we missed, what could''ve been. Anyways, make a TC's Rainbow 7 pls.
As someone who has grown up playing rainbow 6, when siege was announced as an always online live service game, i was pretty skeptical. However day one, for the first mounth or so, dispite some server issues, i found the game to be extremely emersive and intense. Probably helped that nobody knew the meta yet and everyone was just enjoying the experience. For solo or coop we had terrorist hunt so i was very happy. Then the game got crazy. Being constantly picked through a wall, and the extreme levels of toxicity even in the pve killed it for me. Nothing like booting up the game to run some coop and getting killed by a teammate as soon as you spawn. I quit admittedly, and the crazy characters and cosmetics keep me from coming back. I dont consider siege a rainbow 6 game, diffently not a clancy game. Sad really because it started out so good.
Started playing in 2017 and played till 2019 non stop for 3000+ total, but i stopped playing fully in 2020. No more dead bodies, graphics and gameplay is arcady, gunplay no longer feels the same since the new recoil rework, gay shit being added, and so on. It just feels mediocre at best nowadays, i don't get the same joy i used to from siege, and i ccan't jsut chill and imemrse myself in the atmosphere the game used to have. Night maps were fun and looks nice, but they removed it and man do i miss old siege. I am somewhat a pro too, but i don't focus on rank that much so my peak was diamond 5, but my kd is mostly 1,3 across all seasons.
Pre-year 1 was peak. Everything after that went to shit since they wanted people to pay for new operators. And id say all of it sid have an impact on gameplay since they always were trying to one-up previous operators and completely disrupting the core rock, paper, scissors mechanics of the original operators
I definitely think games need to think of collabs that make sense. Fortnite can literally do whatever they want. Dead by daylight and fnaf collab coming 2025 makes sense cause they're both horror games. Running around as Mr meseeks from Rick and Morty on Ace doesn't make any sense and I never expected that collab. The Dead By Daylight skins in siege make sense though cause kapkan got trapper skin and he's a trap op and finka got huntress because finka is resilient just like huntress in her lore and makes me actuallly enjoy using her.
5:30 The special forces picture is actually a picture of airsoft players 😅. You can tell because of the mesh mask. Ig you could where mesh mask with real steal, but there isnt really a point....
This shift honestly doesn't full surprise me. Especially when you understand the bizzare shifts in management for these titles that have been live for a good chunk of time. There is a core vision but once something that isnt fully intended or was a mistake ends up drawing in more poeple and with that money. So why try to nuture the audience you where casting a small net for when you can go bigger and pull in a larger haul. For us who love that tactical/milsim aesthetic and gameplay, seige and other shooters are no longer made for us. It sucks but the quicker we can accept some of our beloved titles are no longer for us the better we can branch out and experience projects and games that are made for our tastes.
Remember when the game was tactical shooter with counter terrorism groups teaming up together? Now we have a game that has the writing and characters we would see in a anime.
It’s not that unrealistic because Boston dynamics and the weapons technology for such a thing is just it’s already there. It’s just slightly unfinished.
Thanks for talking about this. Siege at is core is great, but the games direction and identity is so lost in the sauce I don’t even know what direction the devs want the game to go in
Ngl, a Siege gameplay on a Ubi Open World Single Player/Coop slop would be kinda insteresting, this if they focus on a good writing that resembles old Tom Clancy Story's
Hey, remember Extraction? At first, I thought to would bring me back to the old R6 days, but once I tries to challenge myself with higher difficulty, I came to realize that Suppressor and many gadgets are useless. So, I ended up speedrunning the entire map with the most powerful loadout available. Imagine you're playing a tactical shooter game but suddenly you run into an enemy that eats half of unsuppressed PKP mag before it dies and can't be stealth kill.
Ubisoft is doing me a favor losing money and making me uninterested in Siege anymore. I doubt their dream of having 100 operators will be met. Cheaters everywhere, removal of Training Grounds, and the horrendous reputation system will be its undoing. Once Siege is below the 10k player mark again, be ready to say goodbye to this dumpster fire.
This is a huge reason why I quit siege years ago. There’s just an over-saturation of characters and ridiculous things you’d see in games like Valorant not to mention the ridiculous cosmetics, no issues with like an anime gun camo or something but the other stuff is just ridiculous. The final nail in the coffin was Ubi removing so many features like TH, that one zombie side mode they took away and sold it as a separate game with a different look, and ruined my beloved House.
I so glad i wasn't the only one feeling the same way about R6. Its definitely spreading to other games like CoD and the brief attempt that Battlefield 2042 was. The 'Fortnitification' of games outside of Fortnite is entirely the choice of suits and beancounters seeing how much money it brings in on wacky skins and collabs. At this point, I'm only on R6 because i still have fun with my friends. If they leave, I'm out.

Yeah every game wants to be fortnite
Comeos definitely would be cool. I'd rather have Rambo collab than R&M.... I personally have no problem with it, but I understand.
Fortnite and overwatch.
yea devs just dont realise another fortnite wont work but warzone is one of those that is half decent
Yea something like rambo would of been the shit and he’s armed with a bow with a few explosive arrows and an m60 bro that shit would of been amazing.
T-hunt wasn't good PvE, it was passable as an add-on tutorial.
Outbreak was actually good, but it wasn't siege.
I will always support non realistic decisions that will improve the quality of the game for balancing. However the UwU anime girls and certain pandering really kills it for me.
Dont use the anime camos problem solved
@@spagettete_obviously that’s not the point, if people want to see anime girls then they should idk, watch anime or play some game like Fortnite, but to be dedicated to being grounded with reality for over 5 years then for them to go and ruin it. It’s pretty clear they only pander because siege is really the only game keeping Ubisoft above water.
I would agree. Like the reinforcements just appearing out of thin air and stuff like that that people used to complain about is fine. Its just like you said the skins and lore that ruins it for me

11:30 I disagree. These crazy skins definitely do affect gameplay, making operator recognition way harder, especially for newer players.
That is actually a fair point I didnt consider
Also affects the gameplay in the sense, that when i see someone with taste this bad, it makes me want to quit the game
@@Monkeymo10 and they dont even look good doing it
bro I play fairly decent and it still fucks up your aim when holding a pixel peak and Rick's monstrous greyish blue hair spikes enter your FOV...
Lore would've been fine if they expanded on what they had at launch. Instead of pivoting heavily into the game being a simulation
Overwatch lore also sucks lol
Yea man, I feel like multiplayer mode should be separated from lore
Battleborn has good lore
I wish they would let you turn skins off. I love the original idea of real counter terrorism units coming together to train with eachother and fight real threats. And having each season be based around a new country would have been super cool. I just hope that ubi will give us a proper rainbow six game at some point
Halo MCC allows you to turn off armor customization. I wish siege had that same option.
Jesus, that rick-and-morty skin bundle would be enough to make me quit the game then and there
I am from Sweden, and if Fenrir had a realistic uniform and weapons, I would spend real money on him, but he just looks like a super hero.

Unless you're a fighting game, that is. Tekken 7 only survived due to the competition.
Back in like 2017-2018 when i tought of the most realistic tactical game it was r6 siege, it was my favorite game ever back then, look at what they did to my boy.
I still think the actual gameplay is up there as one of the best. I just everything surrounding that gameplay is atrocious
I miss when seasons had themes, each season had its own art and theme inspired by the country of origin for the new ops, or the operation as a whole in the case of Outbreak and Grim Sky, from the maps, the weapons the ops are using which is also used by their CTUs, the music, the animated intro main screen we used to have (press any key), and the seasonal weapon skins themselves, after 2019, it all went downhill not just the balancing, but thematically as well, you can really see it with the battle pass, I don't remember a single battle pass that has a consistent theme across all its items, it just shows that they put random bundles to fill the BPs, and don't get me started with the universall weapon skins included there, they are awful
And the name change, the awful UI, the operator designs (which got really good I won't lie), the map reworks that get rid of what made the old map unique (Oregon), god, what with Ubisoft downgrading the things that made me love their games
One of the things that I missed were the Title screens.
Yeah it was one of the things that made the game unique

When it comes to realistic aesthetics, what the devs should do is something similar to MWIII where the base design of operators features a "mil-sim" design while the DLC outfits are more unrealistic
I left the game after the season where Flores dropped because of school and just a lack of desire to keep relearning maps and ops. Coming back in 2024 before the skopos season I felt like I had never even touched the game other than I remembered some maps
Yeah the game is completely different. I still enjoy siege, I just miss when it tried to be a more gritty experience
As a fan of Rainbow Six since 1998, this sounds like a woman who got a man to get a divorce, married him, then gets surprised when he cheats on her a few years later. Brother, the identity was lost a decade ago.
Siege's downfall made me buy Ready or Not instead.
Not just because the style, but the insane shift to E-sports focused decision by the devs
POV Ubisoft: fun? Realism? Buffs? What’s that?

When i first started to play i only played on fridays and weekends so during the week when i was at school all i could think during my breaks was how excited i was to play siege. One thing i remember is that i used to love looking at all the different special forces and the weapons they used and seeing that in game. I was so fascinated by how each country had their own CTU own weapons, uniform and history. I would look up the real CTUs in real life and it would just make me want to play siege more. So the new direction that the game is taking does make me a little sad because it really enhanced my game experience

The tried to tie the lore with multiplayer, which is hard to get right. They should've made a story mode for the lore like a campaign, and just have the multiplayer as this "what if" scenario
The Fortnitification of the gaming industry claims another victim.
When the lore went from fighting terrorist to a battle royale. i lost hope :(
I don't know if this game is still "tactical".
It feels more like a fast-paced aggressive shooter.
It's probably just me, I don't know how to play.
I left the game for this reason, I didn't like how they were twisting R6's identity and didn't like many technical moves either. It breaks my heart because I've tried to play the game again but I just don't feel the soul it used to have, that thing that made it special and made it stand out above other games.
We lost Rainbow Six Patriots for this Clown Fiesta I will never forgive UbiSoft for That.
9:45 Doc got shot in the head but the bullet caught in his visor
The destruction is why i wanted to play this game at launch. Reminded me of a tactical battlefield 4 (from a destruction standpoint)
I personally think the drive for the ‘lore’ is what killed the game. Trying to make characters fit into a story line ultimately got us to here.
Very well said, thank you. What I liked, that the operators had a little bit hidden identity in the beginning, with masks and helmets and all that special force stuff.
9:48 dude you cant just kill off playable characters, especially in a game where you can buy character specific cosmetics. People would be pissed.
I don't see why not. Knowing how irrelevant to gameplay the lore has become I doubt they'd even remove them from the game. It's simply for the cinematics and comics they're making.
Say what you want but it's one of the biggest things this game needs. The game's core is bloated. About time we trim that fat off
Remember, Patriots died for THIS
I remember being sooooo excited for Patriots.
I quit a few years ago when it started losing it's identity. Sad to see how far gone it is.
I remember playing this game nonstop for 3 years straight since launch. Tried hopping on and its not the same game for sure.
R6S blocking Linux users has been a constant and needless limitation
It turned into a hot mess when they introduced banning an operator (it is why I left and never came back since.)
But again the game was ruined by so many players trying to turn siege into another call of duty, where the traps were an after thought.

Evolution does not have to lead to a loss of identity, OP.
First two years were so peak
Also, your videos are very enjoyable to watch. Don't stop, please 🙏

I’m still mad about how Zero isn’t an attacker Caveira, even when in the cinematics it shows him sneaking around being an assassin.

Siege at is core is great, but the games direction and identity is so lost in the sauce I don’t even know what direction the devs want the game to go in
When it becomes about the money the craft falls.
True about anything.

I grew up playing Rainbow Six Rouge Spear which was in my opinion the truest form to the Rainbow Six novel.
Genuinely sad to see where the game started from to where it is now.
I left rainbow six when they introduced the sniperlady. To bad it was a great game at some point in time
Seems to be a common theme amongst FPS shooters today. Fortnitification is real, and R6 and CoD have lost their identity.
I only played this game for terrorist hunt, by removing it, they removed a player
Still play siege to this day but I preferred it to be a more tactical shooter
Missing the old days fr
Arknights Collab had more in spirit with Rainbow Six than Rainbow Six itself
Ubisoft is doing me a favor losing money and making me uninterested in Siege anymore. I doubt their dream of having 100 operators will be met. Cheaters everywhere, removal of Training Grounds, and the horrendous reputation system will be its undoing. Once Siege is below the 10k player mark again, be ready to say goodbye to this dumpster fire.
My boi Rook's armor is really that cracked that it can negate a shot to the head from a revolver with the capacity of a shotgun
Everything becomes Fortnite in the end
