- This month we have been progressing well with polishing current aspects of the upcoming pre-alpha demo. There has been lots of quality of life updates, concepts for the new character customisation HUD, sound production and much more! We have kept going with our weekly updates every Mondays on our Discord server.

Good to hear progress is going smoothly. Hopefully the weather wont provide too many problems in getting optimized, weather really has a way of shaking up the feel of an environment.

This made me want to make an outro animation. One with the current dragons in a sleeping pile. I think that would be cute.

It's all looking so promising and I LOVE the take off animation as well as how immersive this looks like it's gonna be. As a bird and flight mechanics enthusiast though, I would suggest reviewing the gliding animation, I think the tail ragdolls too much in the air and the wing membranes wiggle too much as if they were jelly, this would realistically break the aero-dynamicity of the flight in real life, and looks less believable overall, but that's only an observation on my end, great work otherwise!
Yup the animation you see is a place holder as it was our first run through of the vulgans design and probably was made over a year ago at this point so it will need a full animation overhaul.

It's a great feeling to support a project financially and to regularly hear about the great progress, whether it's new animations, mechanics or simply skins.

By the way, I'm also one of the biggest fans of your animation work. I'm wondering whether there will be smaller animations later with the weather system, where the dragon might periodically shake itself a little while standing in the rain or something like that. I can imagine Kirin in particular shaking out his wet mane in the rain.

So that is something we would love to do however we would need to do some R&D into them to make sure it wouldn't effect performance and that we could afford to do that.
I can already say ,this game is gonna be the biggest dragon/creature game ever to exist,keep the good work up!

I found this game today, and i absolutely can't wait for it. I always wanted a game like this, and it's like a dream come true. Considering supporting, but if i decide to, i will have to do it earlier. I wish you all luck in developing the game ^^

i am very looking forward to this game! also 2 things do bug me a little and that is the resting wings and walkcycle. the wings seem way to stretched out at the base for them being folded in and the walk cycle on the dragon seems incorrect for a quadruped but overall i love everything about this!! excited for when the games released

Seriously though I have so much to say- this game is progressing so well, it looks so amazing my brain is releasing a lethal amount of dopamine hrhrhrkk. I’m too mentally active to create a properly structured comment so uhhh I’ll just list some stuff that a love!!!1!!1!
1. How the dragons take a second to accelerate!! I’ve seen a handful of games that have the character immediately transition into a sprint, which for animal sims, feels a little unrealistic. I’ve only seen like 16 minutes of this movement system and I already love it hrfghrg
2. The flight system! It looks very smooth and I feel like it would taste like strawberry ice cream (very important information.) Although I would like to see more weight added, as in inertia and other physics! (Not sure if it’s already in the game-)
3. The designs are an entire gourmet meal oh my god. The variety!?!?? The colors!????! There’s not much explaining required they’re just that good.
Now I would list more things but if I did I would’ve accidentally created an entire book worth of words so I’m stopping here lmao, anyways skitters away throwing glitter everywhere

How good should be PC to play when it comes out?
My is a little bit prehistoric- still good for some games but if there any help of setting low graphic settings, I don't know..
At this moment we have not been able to check this but we are aiming for lower end PCs to be able to play.

Very promising!! Though I'm a bit put off by the walking animation - the way both feet lift off on the same side of the body instead of being desynchronized. Is this something that will be changed later down the line? I can imagine having this current walk might be easier for an Alpha
not all 4 legged creatures walk the way you have mentioned the vulgan is one of these creatures so while it will not change in style the animations eventually will be redo with a QOL update in the future.
@@TheWingsOfDawnOfficial The vast majority of four-legged animals do! I'm a 3D animator specialized in creatures, and only pointing this out because of my knowledge of quadrupedes - given the anatomy of your creatures, this feels off to me. But you are of course completely allowed to go down that route anyway, irt does still work and I'm sure most players won't even think twice about it! Didn't mean to rain on any parades. Either way, awesome advancement on the project and I'm looking forward to see more.
@@TheDeathToday nah your not raining on anyone's parade or anything we are open to feedback however some 4 legged creatures do not walk like the majority we think it looks better currently but that's just our thought process c:

I just found out about you today through a random youtube comment recommending this proyect and Oh my God! All of this is looking GREAT so far! I just have a few questions:
- Is the crowdfunding period still on? Because those skins look fantastic!
- The Vulgan walking animations looks kind of wierd with the wings being so separated from the body. I personally think it takes a-little-too-much of screen space. Was that a artistic choice? O is it because it is more of a ground predator? Because you did mention in the last video that that's the reason its flight is far from elegant. But shouldn't its walk look more so? Idk, just giving my personal opinion.

1) We have a patreon and our crowdfunding period is going to be in Q2 of this year
2) its an Artistic choice and also a limitation if we put the wings in more then they would start to clip with the model and would not look very good.

I wish game devs would use more realistic poses of forelimbs for biped dino like creatures instead of outdated jp dino look that have basically broken wrists because dino wrists wouldn’t bend like that

I discovered your game a couple months ago and wishlisted it on steam and I've come back to see how development is coming along, but I was wondering if humans and dragons would be able to team up and work together, especially if dragons would be able to let humans ride them?

This might've been answered in a stream or video I missed, but will humans be able to ride on player dragons if the dragon player agrees to it, maybe through a mutual request thing, like HTTYD? :o I have friends who like playing creature games, I'm usually the creature and they want to be human characters but we still like playing together x)
Yes they are called nomads however there will be ups and downs for both player groups. c:
will you be able to play as a plant eater/ herbivore or prey? like the antelope, or the pine forager? This looks so good, have been playing DOD but as of the moment dod is really dissapoiting. This game seem to have really nice textures, alot of creatures to play and ai, i really appreciates your hard work and transparency towards us as players
there will be dragons that are Herbivores and omnivores but you wont be able to play none dragons creatures like what you mentioned unless we hit a huge goal which I would not keep your hopes up for. Thank you for saying those things transparency is one of our main goals-!

First day hearing bout this game, and it looks gorgeous! I love dragons and such so i hope to play whenever it comes out (I'm fine with waiting however long)
I can't wait to make unique eggs if this game wiill have a breeding system(i love genetics so i hope so but id play either way)

looks cool, I look at the description for the game on steam, and it's yet another creature survival game with no actual core gameplay features whatsoever

Also word of advice for the scent particles, The Isle did that a few years back and it was a visual mess- when you have lots of dead bodies around... hoo boy.
Slows the game down a lot as well.
Steam store page has not been updated in probably over a year at this stage and is currently being worked on so I wouldn't worry to much about it. But we do aim to have more content than other creature survival games as myself (klackknight) am not actually a fan of most creature survival game so i am pushing for more interesting gameplay i prefer human survival games so we are trying to make it where humans and dragons can team together called Nomads making it more enjoyable there as well.

we have a plan and we are learning from past indie developer mistakes we wont be putting characters behind paywalls and we have a strong connection with our community so we hope all that and more will be enough-!
