Maybe like a newspaper stand or something that hands out tidbits of lore pertaining to recent events in story Or a chocobo farm called union square? Idk. FFU definitely deserves a cameo though.
On #3 I'm deeply thankful to that Torishima person who pushed for narratives on FF ultimately it made the studio create FFIV wich then made every FF after that be heavy on its narrative
The FFXV leaks are always hilarious, because there's a lot of them, from the one on 4chan, to the one with the storyboards by Roberto Ferrari before he left, to the Kingsglaive leak, this was a game that had some really bad leaks in general and insane just how many of them ended up being true.
Finally a recognition of Spirits Within in this channel! Would love a list solely dedicated to it, as I actually adore it and find it much more faithful to the games than it has been given credit for.
I love Spirits Within! Still feels like Final Fantasy and the models still look real. To me at least. The attention to detail to the smallest movement makes all the difference.
Yeah, I love Spirits within, too!! It was so inspiring at the time. Wish toonami would do it some love... I've genually enjoyed it and Advent Children and think Square make great 3D film overall❤. Wish that maybe 17 could have a tie-in movie. But I'm not holding my breath. Between 6s', 7s' and 9s' and later [12s']story sequences Ito is a master as well. Now we just need that [hopefully Netflix?] live action FF series, or maybe another anime like based off of the Lost Stranger manga. Also, 16 [and 15, in its main story] was missing much of the levity of previous entries, especially with the bummer of an original ending to 15. It would be nice to see Square utilize some form of real-time job progression system, preferably where both equipment and major achievements/subquests unlock new skill, trait, and story access during game progress. I'd like a game that has a form of floral/horticultural theme entwined with one of industrial design and push them together with a dark turn toward fighting a nigh-omniscient digital autocracy.
How on earth was the spirits within true to the games. There's nothing final fantasy about it. It actually did that bad it almost made square enix go bankrupt because they lost millions over it. The only reason they are still going after that is because Yoshi p completely revamped ff14 which has been keeping them afloat ever since
@@majorasspain5341 Well that's your opinion of the movie. I felt it was in line with the spirit of Final Fantasy. I mean, if you look at VII, XIII, XV, they're more sci-fi than fantasy. But they have both elements to it. It felt the same with Spirits Within.
The english voice actor for Roche in FF7 remake used to be a friend of mine. He confirmed the IX remake is real and that the voice acting work has begun
As cool as that is to read leaks like this undermine the hard work of many people and set expectations for things that may have not been fully realised (financially or creatively)
For those of you wondering why you should or shouldn't buy this, the actor would be tied down by a strict NDA. Anyway I'd love to hear him in more FF games, because he easily made Roche my favourite FF7R OC.
@@reloadpsi Oh he is, he also threw away my friendship over something stupid so I don’t care if he gets in trouble with his NDA. He told me stuff all the time, I knew about the Intergrade DLC several months before announcement and the Demon’s Souls remake because he did additional background voices
I think the link between 80's and 90's shonen jump and final fantasy is fascinating. I've been watching one piece for the first time at the moment and i'm absolutely loving it. Its reminding me alot of some classic 90's jrpgs. And i can see the influence the show has had on the Japanese gaming industry. And even ff16. The alabasta arc reminded me alot of the kingdom of dhalmek, But the whole show kind of reminds me alot of dragon quest 7 the most. With its reliance on mulitple small stories that all come together to make one big story. But i just love the structure of how you have a party of characters each with their own fully fleshed out back stories. Also my favourite thing about one piece is the genius of its story telling and its theming. The name one piece describes not only the treasure that they are all chasing in the masses of individual treasures that are all kept together in one piece, but the story telling is structured in the same way, with it being made up of hundreds of small arcs of 5 or 6 episodes that all add up to tell one big story. The story telling being the true one piece following the very ideology that is introduced from the very beginning of the show.
Im only a fairly new fan to the final fantasy series and i have jumped around with which gmaes i have played and beaten and i gotta say its a real shame Spirits Within flopped. Its actually pretty unique and a stoey told in a very loving way. I went into it expecting to have large fundemental flaws but it's shoetcomings arent really that important. 130million is ambitious though, its a shame it didnt at least get a good look in from a worldwide audience because warching it in 2022 it still felt very fresh
I feel like I'm in the minority because I don't dislike VIII. Granted, it was the first FF game I played, so there's bias there, but I really enjoyed it.
@@vancegenjorze4902 When I hear people saying 'Its a soppy love story,' all I think is, they've played like an hour or so. Yeah, there is some of that, but not so much that its sappy.
FF12 was a great game, but I feel like the story reached the climax too late. I kept expecting some intense moment to happen. When it finally came, it turned out to be the final battle. 😢
Pretty cool video. Love these kind of facts, specially those 'linking' how things came to be based on previous experiences. I recently re-watched Spirits Within and I'd though it would be a nice topic for a FF Union video at some point. I think ff7 could easily been about several people that are suffering from schizophrenia especially the remake, a few of the characters show potential signs of it, arieth who can see the ghost, cloud who keeps seeing sephiroth and getting headaches etc
Cloud can see sephiroth because cloud is a sephiroth clone and sephiroth can manifest through clouds jenova cells. Cloud and sephiroth are 2 sides of the same coin. And aerith is an ancient who can talk to the planet and the whispers of fate are the physical manifestation of Those Voices trying to make sure the planets plan plays out because In the original we were not supposed to stop meteor. Glad they were able to make a victory lap recently with the pixel remasters, being a relatively new fan to the series I would've loved to have some nostalgic connections to the classic look. Shame you didn't like Spirits Within.
