Let's just talk about venus who started it all, she is the reason why the Philippines is on the spot light right now.
Venus was initially dethroned, because Stella already made a deal with the organizers. They will put the Philippines in Top 5. But Venus was clearly not Fluent enough to secure the crown so Stella tried to dethrone her. Miriam Quiambao the last girl who made it to the finals before was also sent to compete after the winner was Dethroned. The organizers were suppose to crown Venus. But she spoke like a maid, calling William Baldwin, Sir, like she is a servant girl. Sir, yes, sir. okay sir. Thank you sir. That is not how a queen speaks.

@@eduardochavacano only catriona and rachel were born and raised outside the PH. Pia was born in germany while venus was born in qatar, but both were raised in small provinces in our country. And even tho cat and rachel were raised overseas, both had spent a lot of their adult life working in the PH before joining pageants.

If a child has one parent who is a foreigner, this child is recognized as a citizen of the country. So, a Filipino can look like Indonesian, Chinese, Korean, American, African or European.. we are all Filipinos and a proud people.
-Pia's win was the most iconic of all wins.
-Catriona's win was expected and predictable.
-Gazini would make it to the top if the MU 2019 wasn't pre-cooked.
-Rabiya lacks on something so she didn't make it to the top.
-Janine's crown is taken away from her.
-Shamcey's question has a lot of possible answers. In the mean time, the judges found her answer selfish.
-Mary Jean is a crowning material, but unfortunately, she became a sacrificial lamb.

well Rachel and Maxine for me are just like one of the unplaced Filipina queens during 2000-2009.. all of them are just there and forgettable... although maxine and rachel were placed, but undeniably, they have no staying impact.. i dont know but that's what i feel for these 2 queens... no charisma probably.. esp rachel peters...
not all vloggers didn't miss Bea's Top 5 placement. there were some that I know who believed in her and included her in their predictions.
Maxine was the most bashed Philippine candidate. She is the only one that had an interpreter and did not use it and yet still failed to answer her question. I remember she even quit the limelight to stay away from the media and Filipino bashers. It was so bad it was even on the news.

While it's not good, I myself as a Filipino, we deserved this. I think Cortesi wasn't good when I watched her prelims, and no bias, I didn't even select her as one of my picks. This will also teach toxic Pinoy fans their lesson about bragging achievements because someday, it will all just be history. Everything comes with a change in life.

It cannot be denied that speaking English is still & always be a plus+ & an advantage in international pageantry & definitely this gives the candidates from the Philippines the edge & a plus+ because it's basically their 2nd language. Perhaps it is also among the reasons Why for the last 4years Thailand had been choosing & sending candidates that can speak fluent English🤭🤔

Agree on the language part but not taking anything away from the Thai girls, it seems like Thai officials seem to look for a copycat of the previous winners and mimic their "game" from the Philippines. I know they can do better than that.
Yes, I agree that English fluency is a bonus, but the walk and confidence are also as important because how can you proceed to the QNA portion if you don't have them? Look at the Latinas; most of them don't know how to speak English fluently but they have a lot of winners. And look at what happened to Thailand 2021. They chose to send the candidate who could speak English fluently, but their candidate wasn't even able to enter the semi-finals. So, what's the conclusion of all this? You need to have it all. If it's about speaking English, then western countries should get the crown all of the time.
Iris Mittenaere from France wasn't also an English speaking expert when she won in 2016. She boosted her English speaking skills during her reign. Basically, anyone regardless of knowing English or not can still win if she has it all. True.

My god, Gazini is the most stunning of them all!!! She is a goddess! All of them are gorgeous but Gazini is just next level.
Gazini is super gorgeous. But that year, the show was as pre cooked as the year Catriona was crowned. South Africa with NO HAIR and walks like a construction worker or oil rig is so unworthy, given that her runner ups were 20 times more eloquent.
@@eduardochavacano Yeah if Gazini joined MU a year or two earlier than Pia and Cat, she would have easily won the Crown, 100%. I'm not a big fan of pageants, but when I saw Gaz, my jaw dropped, just WOW!!! She's absolutely gorgeous with or without make-up and even when just wearing plain clothes, can't say that for the other girls.
Josh D They are not going to do a back to back, because Catriona failed to dazzle the American market. She was all about Pinoy Pride and the other nations found it absurd that a white girl from a foreign land is suppose to be a Flag Waving Filipino. Yes, Gazini is argueably the most beautiful. But Pia Wutzbach has a very solid portfolio. Gazini became so insecure of her comm skills. She obviously had way too much training from people who can’t speak English fluently. Gazini had great comm skills! But the Filipino fans made her very insecure and nervous.
@@eduardochavacano Yeah I don't get it when Filipinos seem to be ashamed of their own language when the fact is Tagalog is one of the most beautiful language on earth. Whenever I hear someone speak Tagalog or even English with a strong Filipino accent, it is soo soothing to the ear, it's really quite nice. There should be no shame among Filipinos in using Tagalog, in fact i find it weird that Filo's tend to be ashamed of their own language, I don;t see that anywhere in the world. And yeah I agree with you on Pia, to me Pia is the most photogenic of them all, god the camera just loves her in every angle and she has has so many different looks and styles.

Why Philippines has become such a powerhouse in beauty pageants? I think it's because of three things: Beauty Pageant Culture, Program or Training, and Fan Base.
Even as an American.... Janine deserved the win over Olivia🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ Janine looked AMAZING!! And had a better answer than Olivia. I mean, I support our representatives, but Janine was on point that night and should have won.

This is what I've noticed about Philippines placement during IMG era. Whenever the host country is in Asia, there will be at least 2 Asian delegates that would be part of Top 5/6 and Philippines never miss to be part of it.

The other Asian delegate part of Top 6 was Thailand.

Placement : Winner
The other Asian delegate part of Top 5 was Vietnam.

philippines also holds the longest streak of wins by at least one of the major big 4 international pageants (miss international, miss universe, miss earth, miss world) with 6 consecutive wins years 2013-2018. they are not just busy preparing for miss universe, but also other big and small pageant competitions out there. philippines is like: 'are there more pageant competitions out there? we will gladly join'
I'm not being biased, but as I observed in a lot of pageants, there's a big difference among Asian, African, European, Latin American, "other" American(US and Canada) women on how they present themselves. Because Philippines got so much influence from different cultures, add the highly competitive environment, we've created a hybrid type candidates that makes the country such a powerhouse specially Post Trump Era.

The number of halfies winning is just a small percentage compared to halfies competing. I hated both of her evening gowns , prelim and final , I feel like her place was GIVEN in the top 6 because it was in her country, Catriona is over rated . She sounds so scripted, but the miss universe org loved her to crown her .. not saying she didn’t deserve it but her Evening gown is Very iconic. I loved Mary Jean lastimosa she has one of the best bodies I’ve seen at miss Universe I would’ve put her in my top 5 that year and took out usa 🇺🇸 or Colombia 🇨🇴 for her . This is my opinion . I’m not a hater . Like it or not Philippines 🇵🇭 is very dedicated to Miss Universe

OMG, yan din ang nasa isip ko. Kasi di ba sa year ni Gazini, merong talk before mag swimsuit kaso di siya nakasalita ng maayos. Kay Rabiya naman, ramp muna bago talk. Pero kung pinagpalit sila ng year sigurado may laban sila baka nga top 5 pa.

I'm not good with make-up but Pia and Catriona had the best makeup during their Q&As. This may be overrated statement though. Pia and Catriona did an excellent makeup with themselves. They know the right gradation and shades to highlight their inner glows matching their personalities.
Others are really pretty and sexy too but their makeup are either too strong or not matching their personal concept.
