Looking at all of the comments here and elsewhere, I am wondering when did Australia become so bloody elitist? We were always far more egalitarian when I was growing up. Frankly, I blame the pommie and yank influences that have infiltrated Aussie over the decades, especially during the 'yuppie 80s'. Not to say that snobbery did not exist here, it just wasn't as so evident as it is now. When I was growing up, everyone was a mate regardless of education or social standing.
