I recall back in the 60's as an agri mechanic apprentice trying to get the cylinder head off of a TD6. We hung the whole crawler from the overhead gantry by its head for 3 days, giving the studs an odd squirt of plus gas. On the third day there was an almighty crash as the head came off.

That crawler made short work of it. Great video. All the best 🇬🇧.

What a machine! No slip that I could see and it sounded completely unstressed too. Enjoyable vid as always.

Ploughing: So satisfying when it goes well and so disappointing when it goes badly.......... Thanks for the video, interesting as always 👌

That just about sums up match ploughing too! 😊

This video just goes to prove how great them little crawlers are. We have a iH T6 petrol/Tvo and a iH BTD6 diesel.

Great video of my favourite brand of tractors especially the B series, these conditions are quite common with us up here 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and one thing noticeable was most of the wheel tractors tyre pressures looked a bit on the high side we run about 12psi for ploughing 🤔 undoubtedly the little crawler was the choice of the day 💪💪👍

@@Casterton-Vintage I always find watching crawlers interesting - we didn't have crawlers on the chalk downland where I grew up as the soil was not 'sticky' enough to warrant their use.

It was very impressive. Too wet to be on the field really.

Great video not least because the crawler showed off its obvious advantages in difficult conditions compared to the tyred tractors.

4 Furrows with only 34 hp, good work indeed

That little crawler is very special indeed, I tend to think it is a BTD6 that would have nbeen made in Doncaster, not an American TD6 with a gas start diesel engine.

Yes, you could well be right. It's not gas start.

A lot of dying art in agriculture but any new ones to take their place though?

Like any job, there is a lot of skill in it regardless of the changes. Farmers still take great pride in their work. Thanks for the comment.
