Here's what worked for me 1. Remove sim card 2. Do the hard reset 3. Put back sim card as soon as the hard reset begins. It took me like 5 times with the hard reset until I did all three steps and it worked. Not sure if it was the hard reset or removing the Sim Card. But there is hope.
In case it helps anyone, I just had this problem and solution #2 worked, but I had to try it a couple times. The first time it said the update failed and it wanted to reset the entire phone. I cancelled out of it, and unplugged / replugged in the phone, and tried the update again, and this time it worked! So persistence pays off. But wow, what a stupid design, that the device would just stop working when the storage is full. It's 2021, Apple has been building computers for almost 50 years at this point. You would think they would by now figure out how to build a device that doesn't crash and lose all your data when it gets full. Or is this just a way to scare people into buying more space on iCloud and punishing those who don't? They had better fix this issue or they're going to be losing some customers.
@@jenniferhodi3999 unfortunately no I tried 5 times and took it to the apple store and they just had to restore it. I lost 128GB but luckily I had an old backup that got maybe half of it back. I bought the 200GB of icloud storage immediately after ugh (I only had 5). I hope u have everything saved in icloud! Good luckk

It's such a shame how much such an Apple product costs and in the end you have more problems than if you get a much cheaper Samsung or Huawei. I didn't have any storage space either, I was in the boot loop and now I'm in recovery mode because an update fails due to insufficient storage space. All of these solutions don't work if you don't have any memory because the same error code keeps coming back. Why do you say it’s free-? No it didn’t work. They took my $60 though and won’t refund me. Tried to email them and no one got back. I had to restore my phone via iTunes.
I want standard repairing but standard repairing doesn't work. So it pushed me to deep repair, but I didn't need deep repair which deep repair it means I can manually restore it on itune myself. This is wasted of money and time. So much time wasted, They took a chance from someone in trouble. And do not refund my 35USD

If #2 isn't working for you, MAKE SURE YOUR MAC SOFTWARE IS UP TO DATE. I tried to update my phone multiple times, and iTunes kept telling me that my phone couldn't be updated because the firmware was corrupt and that I would need to restore it to factory settings (and lose all my data). I realized my macbook software was out of date, and tried to update it but didn't have enough available storage. SO I used my roommates macbook, which is up to date, and it finally worked!

2nd method worked for me! I deleted a lot of videos from icloud while doing the 2nd method and that seemed to do the trick for me! Everything that wasn't in the icloud was lost.
OMG 2nd method worked for me and i have an Iphone 7!!! Thank you sooo much. btw when i first connected my phone it didnt work, it said the update failed, i tried again (after unplugging my phone and plugging it again) and it updated. For about 5 minutes I had the logo back and nothing happned so i started clicking the home button (and yk it only works when the phone is on) and suddenly it asked for my pass code. Then an other update started which said "attemting data recovery" after that it installed and i was in!! I didnt lose anything and it all happened bc of full storage (now i have 4 gb free which to be honest idk how that happened). Right after i backed up everything on my computer just to be safe! let me know if you have any questions

Somehow I got mine back working and restored. For anyone who sees this, if you're doing the hard reset (1. press and release volume up button 2. press and release volume down button 3. hold {right} side button) and it hasn't been working: Even though instructions usually say "press & hold the side button until you see the apple logo", this didn't work for me until I kept holding it even after I saw the apple logo come back up, and then after a couple more seconds, the 'iphone restore' screen came up, allowing me to start the recovery process.
WHATEVER YOU DO NOT PAY FOR THIS !!! Once stuck in boot loop let the battery completely drain itself ( this might take a couple days/ week ) Try multiple times and once it is dead and it ask you to plug it in wait a couple hours and then power it up... Voila it fixes itself this happened to me multiple times , I think it s a glitch in the software because it only happens to me when my phone dies while in low power mode :/...W.e you do not pay for any software I did and regretted it immediately plus they don't do refund!!!

Perhaps you didn't enter recovery mode successfully, better use the Apple lightning cable, and try the finger combination again following the video. You can also try Reiboot to fix this problem without losing any data. If it still cannot be recognized, it should be a hardware issue.

Everything that wasn’t synced to iCloud got lost. So pics and videos that were on the phone that weren’t on iCloud got lost

phone got stuck in recovery mode. encounters error 14 halfway restoration. purchased reiboot license only to find out factory reset and deep fix will also fail. bummer

Perhaps you didn't enter recovery mode successfully, better use the Apple lightning cable, and try the finger combination again following the video. You can also try Reiboot to fix this problem without losing any data. If it still cannot be recognized, it should be a hardware issue.
