First being that he has two GOATS of basketball on the court, so any double team that comes Shaq's way, he can pass out to whoever is open, and it's inevitable that the ball will get to either Kobe or Lebron.
Second is the fact that this is a weak era of basketball, the positionless style of play is a two edged sword, Defensively, it makes Shaq a liability, but offensively, it makes Shaq look like a goliath. Considering Shaq had no problems dominating players during the 90's and 00's, where people fought tooth and nail for the ball, he would kill anyone who meets him in the paint, as they can't be as physical as they should be, for the risk of fouling, and the old hack a shaq rule could only work for so long, until their best centers got into foul trouble.
Kenny Francis sorry but Shaq was not slow, at least in his Laker years. He ran the floor extremely well for his size. People forget bc of how fat he got, but he could keep up. Now as far as guarding guys on the perimeter, yeah we can say hes a liability. Every team has a weakness, Shaq not guarding the 3 is gonna be their one weakness.

Fun idea. I think the team would work better if they staggered the three stars' minutes since all three are so ball dominant and can run or score with unit nearly by themselves. I'd still choose the Warriors though lol Shaq would be a defensive liability in that series and the Warriors would end up outscoring the Lakers.

There are only two true what if scenarios in nba history. What if the lakers were healthy in the 89 finals? Could the lakers pull off the first 3 peat since the celtics in the 60s? Could magic of had 6 rings and kareem 7? And what if jordan wasnt a gambling addict and played hakeem in the finals in 94 and 95? Could jordan of had 8 straight? Or would hakeem be too much to handle, leaving jordan at 6-2 in the finals?

Isiah thomas starts at pg for the true dream team. Portland wins in 92. Charles leads phoenix to a championship in 93. Houston still wins 2 straight. The super sonics win 3 straight because they stay together. Then the rest of history is basically the same.

Hakeem's presence stops Jordan from driving as much and making him settle for more jumpers which will make him less efficient.But that bulls team was more talented so that could put them over the edge.

These Lakers would completely dominate the league, they’d struggle in the early part of the season, learning and building chemistry but as smart as Rondo, Kobe, and LeBron are as players, their IQ is insane. They’d probably sweep the playoffs and finals probably losing maybe one to the Warriors. Shaq would win Finals MVP, not LeBron. The only team with a chance for a win or two all playoffs would be the Warriors because of their shooting and spacing only. Having Shaq completely pauses the game, LA would slow the game down so much that it would definitely hurt GS.
