I am a complete beginner and think your explanations are great, I even understand you quite well with what I learned about English in school over 30 years ago. The creos line is definitely a lot of quality for the cost. Well I shouldn't even say for the cost. Solid airbrushes all around. I think i've been running my 270 a year or so.. Id have to go back and look at the date I reviewed it.

    • @str8edgeify
      @str8edgeify 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In your opinion would you say it is on par with an eclipse?

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@str8edgeify quality wise they are definitely there. the 270 hold an edge in detail over the eclipse, but its very minimal.
      The trigger is smoother on the creos.
      they are different however, the eclipse deals with thicker paints just a hair better, and you can use a .5 conversion on the eclipse. The size of the eclipse is a bit smaller, which I like. im a huge fan of eclipses. I like the size, the feel the weight. And the mac valve is not all that important to me on an airbrush. I like the drop in nozzles on the eclipse better. But make no mistake the creos airbrushes match anything in quality.

    When I fist started ABing I was gifted a Passche VL the lines I could pull on that were pretty amazing or so I thought and yup there's a big difference between siphon and gravity flow but I also brought a Veda WD180 for about 25 quid from China, what detail you get from that is fantastic, just as good as I get from my Kromes, have you tried a WD180 by any chance, granted I stripped it down Regdabed it all PTFE'd the nozel, tip etc I still use it now 7 years later its honestly one of the best and most surprising buys I have ever made pal.
    The quality of the build was really good I was extremely surprised at it, it hasn't gone wrong once and the spares are good to, I'd recommend it to anyone starting off, and if you haven't tried it pal I'd say its well worth looking at for people starting on a shoestring budget like I was, and with how strapped for cash everyone is today, its well worth it for a beginner AB

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your comment and appreciate you sharing the info re : the WD180 (in response to your question I have never used one) I’m sure there are many more examples of this, where someone grabs a cheaper brush and finds that it performs well. Always interesting to hear how people come across a brush that they love and are still using it years later as generally that’s what concerns me about the cheaper Chinese brushes , they may perform well out of the box , but will they stand the test of time 🤔
      Funny that you started with a Paasche VL, so did I and yes the number 3 needle for me was the best all round performer....then I found a gravity HPC iwata and I have never looked back 👍🏻

    I have one of the battery powered airbrushes - not the no-name you demoed, but, it works pretty well, as long as I don't drop below 0.4mm nozzle. I recently got a side feed "Point Zero" with a 0.3 mm nozzle and a compressor that purports to put out 25PSI. Taking paint that works fine in the 0.4mm and putting it in the new brush, it only sprays in spurts if I keep pulling/releasing the trigger. If I hold it wide open, virtually nothing comes out. Same story if I just put water in there. I have cleaned/scrubbed the brush thoroughly, including a complete disassembly/clean/reassembly, and still get poor performance. Wondering if there is anything else I might consider before I give it up as a dud. Only thing I can think of left is to swap out the needle/nozzle and move it up to a 0.4mm setup and see if it starts spraying. Many thanks for all the help you give to those of us new to the hobby!

      FWIW, if I stick my mouth on the cup and blow, everything sprays as it should. Soon as I stop, the spray goes back to being sporadic. Seems like, logically, while the cup does feed into the brush, it is just feeding too slowly. Am I totally off base here?

    I have been airbrushing for few years now. I have tried a number of different brushes from the cheapest to intermediate brands. I bought an airbrush similar to this from china, but for more that half the price. I have found that the cheap brushes performs just as well a more expensive one. So yeah, great spray properties, they really are! But what about the durability? I bought this airbrush a bit more than 3 months ago and I'm loving it so far! However there's already signs of paint cup's inner coating decay, after 3 months! It looks like dark cracks and blotches, like a corrosion, idk... So far I only sprayed trough it Gunze's own paints, the MrColor lacquers and AK Interactive Real Colors. For cleaning I also use Gunze's own cleaner - Mr Tool Cleaner R by pouring it into a cup, back-flushing and cleaning any remaining paint with a brush. Anyone else had similar problems, or is it just my "luck"? Did I do something wrong?

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks for your comment and sorry to hear you are having issues with the colour cup. Colour cups do wear and discolouration is common, that said I am more concerned when you say cracks ? I have had mine for about a year and it still looks and performs like new, my suggestion would be to reach out to SprayGunner, send them some pictures and see if they can help you with warranty. Hope that helps.

    • @putuplasts7940
      @putuplasts7940 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AirbrushAsylum Yeah, I know they wear down with time. Before PS-289 I was using Eclipse as my workhorse, it's inner coating decayed over 4+ years. (the reason why I decided to replace it) However, before Eclipse, for roughly around 10 years I was using Sparmax DH-103. Now that stuff is SOLID! I put trough that sucker everything - acrylics, enamels, lacquers, you name it..., I cleaned it with all kinds of thinners, acetone even. It's inner coating is still largely intact, couple of scratches that was made by me, but in general it's paint cup looks way more better than Eclipse's. :D
      Anyway, thanks for the advice, I'll see what I can do with that warranty!

    • @putuplasts7940
      @putuplasts7940 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlienArteStoreMX Hello! I guess I would go for HP-C, just because I haven't used it before, but I have read some good reviews about it. If I'll have to choose from PS289 and Eclipse, I would choose the first one, just because i like it slightly better, but imho they both have very close, almost the same performance. So my top 3 would be:
      1.HP-C
      2.PS289

    • @justinsane332
      @justinsane332 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      tbh, the .18 would be better for fine detail, but honestly all the procon brushes spray VERY fine. i just had to buy a .7 Grex because the smaller sizes really limited my ability to cover, so even if you think you wo t need a bigger needle, from experience I can tell you, most of the time, the .2 is limiting. its a super great brush though. id recommend a .3 and the .18, but if you can only get one brush, the .2 is great.

And to me both spray pretty close to the same but hey both are different in their own ways though like cleaning and adjusting spray. I got my 289 as a second brush to my iwata hpcs. You can get pretty fine lines with both brushes. If you can get the 289 under $120 its a good deal to snag. BUT... parts for the creos are going to be harder to find than iwata parts.

    if you are starting you dont have experience on airbruses and probably will break them several times because they are non forgiving.l.. its better spend some money on cheap chinese airbrushes first and have plenty of needles and different nozzles.
    when buy nozzles see if they have the seal ring if not dont buy them
