This is just my interpretation.
The way I interpret the video with the music is every time he gets close to finding love he gets his heart broken hence the sword through the heart. And each ribbon signifies every time he's had his heart broken and came back.
Interesting take! I almost 100% agree with you except for one thing. When he finds the girls in the video, he immediately draws his sword and starts attacking lol. To me, that looks a little too aggressive to be representing " trying to find love". But hey I could be wrong. Maybe they're making the point that trying to find love is like an emotional "struggle". Either way, I love how the video makes you think. Thank you for the comment friend! :)

Well, it would have actually been considered a “seppuku” which was a ritualistic way a Samurai would off themselves with honor. In this video though, it's one of the girls who force him to do it....so a...."forced seppuku"?? Lol. Idk I'm just googling Samurai stuff at this point haha!
