Sweet interview. My parents used to play coal chamber in the car when I was like 4. Big truck was one of my favorite songs as a toddler(still listen to that album to this day). Shock the monkey with ozzy was cool too.

I’ve always really enjoyed Dez and all his projects, incredibly talented and a legend in his own right, I saw Devildriver at 9:30 in the morning at 0zzfest 2004 and they crushed it, it was awesome, love that band , my favorite of his bands

Finally another metal head that acknowledges funk... I'm a huge metal head but I love james brown and parliament and all the bands who was referenceing. People don't dance if it isn't moving... Whether that's moshing or dancing, the music has to make you wanna move

Great interview, have been a fan of Coal Chamber for years. I liked Devildriver too, but yeah I should try listening to them more.

Another thing...He failed to mention giving Sharon Osbourne 25% in the Coal Chamber days and giving Ozzy song writing rights.

Nice, saw coal chamber back in 97. Always loved Dez's voavals. I always used to say he'd sound good fronting a heavier band and then i heard devildriver. Pefect man

Maybe the most underrated “singer “ of all time,, his vocal range is off the chart with that low fog horn Coal Chamber sound

He definitely wasn’t in THE Piledriver - the band behind the seminal album “Metal Inquisition”

I think his ear issue where probably due to a witch attack IMO. Its happened to me, and they fuck your ears up alot. They put an abscess on my ear drum. I know dez is a witch, so Im guessing that has a lot to due with it...

Totally agree Dez. Says a lot about the real godfathers of metal Sabbath for heaviness and Motorhead for grittiness. Couldn't agree more. They were my inspiration from 81.

When Coal Chamber first came out they were shit on alot because they sounded like Korn...I didn't think they did other than maybe the bass, I always wondered how they took that criticism.

I'm always happy when i check bands i used to listen to when i was a kid and see them doing good. Not the band, but the members. And also, he comes across as a real stand up guy

Coal Chamber got into Nü-Metal in 1997 at the age of 17 when I got into Heavy Metal in 1990 with Scatterbrain at the age of 10.
