Security companies/officers who are commissioned in Texas, can have patrol vehicles outfitted just like a police vehicle except no red/blue combination. It can be blue/amber, green or even blue/white. The reasoning for this is because whatever property the security company/officer is contracted to protect, has domain over that property and has full authority to keep that property safe as well as enforce rules and regulations for said property. The only thing they cannot do is arrest. They can detain and hold until law enforcement arrive.
Patrick Bryan they cannot chase on to public roadways. They can follow and contact law enforcement and keep law enforcement updated on the whereabouts of said criminals.
Patrick Bryan it's essentially like a civilian calling in a reckless driver and they keep up with them as best as they can while they're on the phone with a dispatcher giving them updates as to the whereabouts of said reckless driver. Now I believe on properties the security company is contracted to protect, security officers can chase on those specific properties. Things like burglars, peeping tom's etc.
hey now lol crown vics are life! i drive one daily and i love em... always have. id take one over a tahoe any day of the week. ive also driven a charger and an impala... still rootin for the extinct crown vics... i havnt driven the new caprice bt im still fairly positive id rather drive the vic.
These security vehicles were upfitted for the Security at a privately owned school. They have a special exception with the Township the school's campus is located on that permits their vehicles to use green warning lights, with the condition that they stay within the school's perimeter.
on private property you can do whatever the hell you want. But if the agency is patrolling a neighborhood, that is why they aren't using red and or blue
Okay so you said, "Amber alert in NY is yellow." and then "Amber Alert is a siren" so a siren is yellow? this entire thread has to do with the color of the lights on the car... at no point did anyone mention a siren.
And I already said that security can do whatever they want on Private Property in NY state. RIT Public Safety for example is a college security agency and runs red and white in the front and red/amber/blue in the rear.
if a security officer is working certain areas like special events large properties ect work lights on their vehicles often help us find them to respond to the call of service having said that I'm not going to tell you that they are never abused it all comes down to the professionalism of the security officer
Oh, this is for *federal* security use at one of the more *top secret* facilities. Not for your typical temporarily contracted account jobs.
Correct
I'm starting my own security guard business and I'm getting these vehicles .thanks!

Nope a security guard cannot chase any suspicious vehicle or person outside of their assigned area.

Hmm i like, time to convince the boss to upgrade haha
Great options for customers. I'm looking for this set up for my new vehicles

@@KB-bh9hp I've heard they've had bad transmission issues... They look nice but id opt for a Tahoe over an explorer...

Green lights illegal in PA per Chapter 175 67 Pa code

Do you have any one out here in Southern California?
Where I'm from volunteer firefighter use green lights to get to the fire station
+keepcalmitstyler I'm in Ontario as well
Yeah over here they use blue or blue/white and red or red/white
I think in NYC it's yellow not green.
They're not police, I don't think they're legally allowed to having red and blue lights so they pick green.

What are you talking about? How does an Amber Alert have anything to do with lights on a vehicle.

security guards don't need push bars or flashing lights.

sometimes we do depending on the situation and contract.
+capt rodgers no you don't, ever wonder why people call you rent a cops? this is why.
um yes, we do, and i have used a push bar and lights on many times....dont get you panties all bunched up now
+capt rodgers let me guess, you failed the police exam correct?
