Very cool. I appreciate the lengths Traxxas goes to to make these cars look so good and let us appreciate what they're capable of. Even if I can't do 95% of what's in the videos because of lack of skill!
I have this exact rc car and it's stupidly fast af it's definitely worth the money but you will crash alot if you go to fast and even if you pull the trigger half way it still goes stupidly fast

Anyone else want to play command and conquer generals zero hour after hearing the music or is it just me lol. May upgrade to paddle on the slash but definitely getting a brushless motor soon.
Real questions, how many times did it over heat? How many axles did you break? How long did the servo last? Bellcrank survive?

Ahh the desert, the land of burning sand, free tans from the sun, and more dryer than your knuckles in winter. The perfect place for extreme off-road stunts
NOT HAPPY with this truck, but with others: I took my Rustler 4x4 VXL 4 times to the dunes. In northern California (Dumont Dunes), Las Vegas (Nellis Dunes), on Grand Canaria (Spain, Mas Palomas) and in Utah (Little Sahara) for shooting one of my EPIC Dunes Bashing videos. BUT no footage at all because all four times the session ended after a few minutes with either broken drive shafts or broken steering assembly. Also the HD Steel drive shafts didn't solve the problem, they snapped right away first jump in the Dunes from Mallorca, Spain. Finally I gave the car way and got myself a MAXX. And the MAXX is absolutely EPIC and I had no brakeage with it at all and I made some cool Videos with the MAXX in the Dunes of Utah.
I would recommend some mip driveshafts ave had some for 8 years and only broke one, but they need to stay greased so probably use a dry lubricant.

It was my first car so I didn’t really know what to look for but I did the math and I’ll end up paying less for the vxl system and car than if I bought the one that came with it cause mine came with a battery which was good cause I didn’t have one in the first place

probably over heated like a mf. I dont even gotta run my rustler in hot conditions for it to overheat.
Yea the stock electronics will overheat in winter from my experience with the stock gearing unit my esc let the smoke out.

Traxxas why are you still using plastic driveshafts and those awful ultra shocks and its still the most expensive out of its competitors. An answer would be nice.
The utra shocks haven’t been to terrible for me but the driveshafts are unacceptable.

Running on sand has to be a huge strain on the drive train, especially the motor and esc. There’s no traction for the tires and the constant near max throttle to keep it moving. Not sure I’d take any of my rcs to the sand.
