- I Got a Masters Degree in graphic design from the school of visual arts in New York City. It basically consisted of famous designers like Brian collins, and Stefan Sagmeister roasting my work until I got good enough to not get roasted... well kinda. in this video I talk about some of the most valuable lessons I learned in design school and the Importance of Harsh design critique.
Check out More of my Design Work just in case you wanna roast it too.

This is great! With 15 years of experience as a graphic designer, I strongly encourage everyone to embrace 'failure' for personal and professional growth. It's refreshing to be critiqued when it's done with good intentions. People who criticize are often more benevolent than those who just flatter us. Thank you for sharing your experience, it truly is a fantastic video.
very well said about people who crisis over just flatter. thanks for the support
roasted and finely toasted
I gotta let the people know it's cool to find out we aint that cool.
I am a self-taught graphic designer, and your journey is truly inspiring to me. I love the way you tell these stories; you have a magical way of drawing me into them. Hopefully, by next year, I can pursue graduate studies in graphic design in New York
hey, thanks so much. I read this comment to my wife I loved it so much. Best of luck to you and when the time comes I would love to look at your portfolio for your application and help you out in that way if you would let me.

okay, now I know that you're not just a natural-born brilliant designer, but that you were actually taught by geniuses 😅
yeah Stephan was an amazing teacher especially who changed how I thought about design. looking back on it now no professor didn't really say anything that I couldn't find for free on the internet. the real value they brought was over and over they told me my work needs to be better. It made me hold my work to a higher and higher standard constantly improving, considering everything and not being lazy about anything when it comes to design. never accepting I cannot do something and in stead doing whatever it takes to learn the technique I want to pull of.
