- Hi everyone! A few people have requested Hyper Music but not this particular venue.
After listening to the live version, Dave was curious as to how it would compare to the studio version. So in a channel first, I showed him the official video version of the song.

I love this comparison video. Especially since Muse is so frequently quoted as "best live"... but their studio tracks ALSO kill, just in different ways. Especially considering the dynamic work put in for many of their tracks (i.e. different instruments piped into different ears, etc).
I LOVE this song so much, I play it as loud as possible 🤣😂🤣 I usually always choose to listen to live Muse, but this is one track I’m just as happy with the studio version, it’s still crazy! Plus I love the music video. thanks for your reaction😊
WHAT - Dave went this long without hearing Hyper Music?? I just assumed he did this one ages ago. xD Great reaction though, of course, as they always are. I actually can't decide which version I prefer. Live's always rougher round the edges and has more energy, but I do appreciate the clearer sounds of studio vers just because you hear the instruments more clearly. Also, totally agreed with you Dave: the bass here is KING! One of my favourite tracks ever, thanks for (finally?!) getting to it. :)

Especially after the 20th anniversary I think the studio versions are just as good if not better, or maybe just a different kind of good to the live performances
This is a great concept for Muse! As they're so good live doing a comparison and saying which you prefer is really cool. I haven't listened to this song in so long and I almost forgot how great it is.

Love that you got to this. Also love the comparison with studio albums. I imagine Dave has heard a BUNCH of studio stuff offline now, but its a great concept you should look to explore. Everybody (quite rightly) raves about how incredible Muse are live ... but certain tracks are very special on the studio too. There's nuance and sounds on the studio versions that you'll never appreciate in the live version (for example: the bassline of Hysteria is great live, but the studio is just ... dirtier ... and all the better for it). Keep it up.
I like the studio verses live concept. Some songs are never as good live. This i think IS better live. More early muse please.

Muse exogenesis would be a great one to compare live vs studio. Its a 3 parter and can be tricky to find all 3 parts live but you could start with part one th-cam.com/video/OhXoLfTgFOI/w-d-xo.html this vid has lyrics but was the best audio quality i could find.
Have they even once played part 2 live?
@@spacedementia1213 now you mention it, it looks like they never have done part2 live. Apparently its too hard to perform live. Only 1 and 3 have live performances. Oh well 1 is my favourite part anyway.
@@cyrus2728 my favorite is part 2, so it hurts. But at least I have seen part 1 live, they opened the show in Moscow 2011 with this song. My first Muse show. So it's the first Muse song I've heard live. Grand one for sure. It's a better opener than Uprising which they played as first during the Resistance tour. Half of the song there were only music and lights, only when the guitar strikes we could finally see the boys. I could finally see Matt. It was like gods came down from above. For a 16yo me it was really overwhelming XD

I missed them in 2004 glastonbury ,i saw the first song (cant remember it) but i was heading to the jazz stage for roy ayers but we either missed him or he cancelled by the time we got back muse had finished.after watching the set later on tv i was gutted.
@@spacedementia1213 i have to admit exogenesis is really the only song i like on the revolution album and never seen it live but i did catch them at glastonbury 2010 where they had the edge from u2 as guest it was awesome.
