@@MagpiesinBrisbane Apparently mince is really bad for maggies as it can get stuck to their beak which in turn lesds ro it rotting off. This is why they are constantly cleaning it, especially after eating. I used to have a family of them visit and whenever I'd buy a whole chicken, the parts l didn't use I'd bag up and give it to them over the course of about a week. They absolutely love the skin and make a ppont of cleaning all of that off first before enjoying the white meat.
I'm new here, does that baby only have one leg ?? Or is she practicing to be a flamingo ?? I'd love to meet a magpie someday. My area has a very friendly raven and several crows but no magpies to be seen. Such animated rascals.
Sadly, she only has 1 leg. She's "mum"... when she had 2 legs, she was much more friendly. See some of my other vids and you'll see how she would land on my arm to grab treats.
I suppose we'll never know what's happened to the chicks. Snake activity has come early this year, catching a few birds off guard. I hope that wasn't the case for this family. Nice to see them on their Wombaroo mission. Cheers 👍😀
@@MagpiesinBrisbanedo promote the good food as a lot of people don't know, and its not hard to get & feed them well. I only recently found out how it is kinda vital. Cheers from Gold Coast 🎉
I suggest not, in Brisbane, they are very likely to be the Torresian Crow. For the most part, within Australia, there is only one of the five species of crow and raven that is common in any particular area. In general, they are all very similar and most people would not know the difference and they can best be distinguished by size and specific aspects of behaviour and calls. Plus of course where they are living. For example, I am in Canberra and we only have the Australian Raven common here (plus sometimes flocks of Little Ravens), but never any crows.
💜 thank you for being kind to there beauties
Thanks for watching! Hope you can check some of their other vids out too.
Awww that one have only one leg 😢😢😢❤❤❤
We had 2 babies kicked out of their nests on our property this season. We fed them kangaroo mince for a few days and the parents took them back.
I've been told by wildlife not to feed raw mince as it can cause problems? Maybe the kangaroo mince isn't a problem for them ..
They aren't kicked out of the nest ...they simply leave

What's wrong with the third bird?
Poor thing lost her leg last year...

Does the one on the right have only 1 leg?
Sure does.. sadly
Good to see he still has a crew. 😄 Animals sometimes reject the injured ones.
She's still the boss!@@tspaulding3845
what are you feeding them?
normally, Wombaroo mix... here, they are getting a few dry kibbles from the cats supply.

Do you get Peewees in Brisbane?
I'm not sure.. what is a Peewee?
sure do!!
Peewee is also known as a magpie lark. I live in Childers and we have them up here.
Yes, properly called Magpie-lark.
You mentioned the crows took their nest. Aren’t they Australian Ravens? Not crows
Um.. I don't really know. I'm not an expert when it comes to birds here .. I've just always thought they were crows?
