Something I never got, why is the killer targeting Julie more than Ray? You'd think Ray & Barry would be his primary targets since they were the most directly responsible for almost killing him. I'd think he'd at least be a bit more lenient towards Julie since she's the one who tried the hardest to save him.
Maybe it's because of the source material? In the book, the killer targeted Julie because hurting her would hurt him more than hurting him would. Ray would suffer by being the only survivor.
He went after Barry and Helen the most. He stalked them and then liked them. He only attacked Ray and Julie because they were the only 2 left I felt like he targeted them in order of Who deserved to die the most with the exception of Max. Also he probably knew Barry and Helen would ignore the letter probably the reason they were sent to Ray and Julie Barry was screaming pretty loud so he probably heard a thing or two
And he was expected to gather and understand that amount of info while he was under water after being nearly killed? He grabbed the tiara, and the Queen of the Fish Fiesta was one of the first to get wacked.
I love the cruel intentions reference at 1:02 🤣👌 it’s like almost everyone in this film has worked together multiple times. Especially Freddie and Sarah who are married and have done 5 films

It's so true about the killers 90s slasher movies. Why do they always conduct everything so perfectly until they're unmasked/revealed? They are always at the right place at the right time, seem to teleport throughout the whole movie. Never make any mistakes, and get away with everything. one of the many reasons why I do not like horror movies is that every character is uninformative, overtly-expositional, slow as all hell, completely oblivious, downright hollow in personality and utterly cluelessly dumb that I feel no sadness whatsoever in seeing any of these ludicrously pathetic characters die. I always cheer for the killer, yet at the same rate I find that the use of psychological torment is inversely detrimental to their intentions of actually making a full success of killing all those whom they are after
Beep Boop -> There is good horror out there. If you're old enough, check out Severance. It's a British horror movie where the characters actually behave as if they are smart and want to live. Also Slither is a really great horror/scary/funny movie. Just amazing how you can be scared, freaked out and laugh all in one movie, but Slither does it.
Aku The Shape Shifting Master of Darkness Have you seen Psycho or the Orphanage. Both have slow openings but do that for the purpose of developing the characters and the story. Both are great psychological horror films.

Just to point out, Sin 123, dropping a call to 911 is a good way to get attention very quickly. If the operator has any reason to believe there is danger (like a scream heard in the background), they will make it a high priority call-out. I know these are for comedy reasons, but just saying, they would already have the address from the call details.

The reason when you get a scenario like person A is looking for person B but doesn't yell to find them even though the killer is nowhere near, is because they know they're in a horror movie! They know if they yelled the killer would obviously appear out of nowhere and murder them! They're not idiots...

There's another mistake I noticed, last time I watched the movie: One of the photos in Ben's boat is this really close up picture of Ray and Julie. Either, Ben zoomed the lense in really close or he was standing, like, a few feet away from them. If the latter is the case, clearly, Ray and Julie aren't the best about observing their surroundings.

Ken Britton to be fair it is a pretty obscure movie (hehe 1000 internet cookies if you get that joke) and although I liked it, it is not that well-known, in fact I never knew of it until I learned a certain PS2 game I love was inspired by it.
CryTheRavens it was a game called Obscure and you play as a group of high school students that have to fight against a mad scientist. It was made as a homage (but was pretty good) of all the teen horror films being made in the mid 2000's. The sequel was Obscure: The Aftermath and wasn't as good. But the first game is what I believe to be a hidden gem of the PS2 and a very underrated game. Good luck finding it though, it was quite rare outside europe.

Just to point out, Sin 123, dropping a call to 911 is a good way to get attention very quickly. If the operator has any reason to believe there is danger (like a scream heard in the background), they will make it a high priority call-out.
I know these are for comedy reasons, but just saying, they would already have the address from the call details.

Exactly! I saw it too! He also had a cast on his right hand. Also, Barry is shown to be good at kickboxing but throws the shittiest and most predictable looping right that I ever seen. Also-also, when you see a guy marching towards you with that speed and anger you don't just let them hit you. You have time to block the punch or lean out of his reach.

The reason when you get a scenario like person A is looking for person B but doesn't yell to find them even though the killer is nowhere near, is because they know they're in a horror movie! They know if they yelled the killer would obviously appear out of nowhere and murder them! They're not idiots...

It’s been a while since I read the book but wouldn’t the twist/reveal of the books have been impossible to do in a movie bc the killer was a friend of theirs using a fake name. I know they never saw his face but could they have used the book twist and made it work for film?

There's another mistake I noticed, last time I watched the movie:
One of the photos in Ben's boat is this really close up picture of Ray and Julie. Either, Ben zoomed the lense in really close or he was standing, like, a few feet away from them.
If the latter is the case, clearly, Ray and Julie aren't the best about observing their surroundings.
Something that drives me crazy is that Max gets a hook to the chin/neck, but when his body is in Julie's trunk, you can clearly see there's no wound!!

I don't live near the water, but I've heard the term rain slicker. I think mostly older people use it. It's a really long raincoat or rubber overalls, and usually yellow for some reason.

Ken Britton to be fair it is a pretty obscure movie (hehe 1000 internet cookies if you get that joke) and although I liked it, it is not that well-known, in fact I never knew of it until I learned a certain PS2 game I love was inspired by it.

CryTheRavens it was a game called Obscure and you play as a group of high school students that have to fight against a mad scientist. It was made as a homage (but was pretty good) of all the teen horror films being made in the mid 2000's. The sequel was Obscure: The Aftermath and wasn't as good. But the first game is what I believe to be a hidden gem of the PS2 and a very underrated game. Good luck finding it though, it was quite rare outside europe.
