I love that Mirabel had the most significant magic and that it didn't take a magic door or big, fancy room set around her "gift." Some of the "gifts" in this movie are more like curses. I wouldn't wanna have hearing that strong, it would be torture. I already have sensitivity to loud sounds so yeah, I would go insane. I also wouldn't want my mood to affect the weather. Tia Pepa always looks miserable. And growing flowers at will... I like that one, but her whole life is about that. Idk if I would wanna have visions of the future either. Look what it did to Bruno and how people became scared of a sweet guy with good intentions. Being able to be a shapeshifter would be very useful. Being that strong would definitely be helpful but also burdensome, as we see in the movie. Conversing with animals like Antonio? Cool, but again, unnecessary. The power I would choose would be Julietta's, ie healing maladies with food. Imagine the ramifications of that, how many people I could help.

my argument against having julietta’s powers are the fact that every time you’re not making food, you’re technically killing people and that could make you extremely ressed

I have something that he didn't say: When it shows the pictures of when all the madrigals got their gift it shows them little but on the door it shows what they look like as teenagers, but when Antonio got his it shows him little on the door. I know it's not an Easter egg. It's just something that I noticed.
I think that was a mistake or smth cuz the director said that the images on their doors change as they become older

There is also another secret you missed which Colombians would know, it’s based in eje cafetero colombia where they teach you the process and things about the coffee there (I have been there it’s delicious) so when Mirabel is singing the madrigal song one of the little boys are drinking coffee and is speaking really fast it shows how easy it is to find coffee there.
You say they're married into the family and don't have to special gifts. Clearly they do. One can fill a suit, and the other has dance moves that'll put you to shame.

It goes far beyond dress. Agustin is a pleaser, which is where Isabella and Lusia get it from. He and Luisa team up to start the party back up after Mirabel's dire vision. He, like his wife, have a special place in their hearts for Mirabel but I also enjoy his interactions with his other daughters. We miss these kinds of interaction with Isabella because Abuella focuses so much on her that we just don't see her interacting with anyone else.

Not sure if you’ll see this but another thing I saw in the movie was that mirabel gave Antonio a stuffed animal as a gift. I see it as if she predicted the animals
umm no she gave it him because he's shy and likes animals.. everyone gets a gift to kind of mirror themselves.. lusia is strong because shes the older sister who gets given most responsability.. isabla's is because shes supposed to be the perfect child.. antonios shows how he can be shy but fearless and brave when needed to be
At the beginning of the song 'what else can i do' , after Isabella says "I just made something unexpected" the cactus that shes sitting with changes into a bigger one and it changes in to the head of Micky Mouse.The move the ears around so i doesn't look obviouse so look carefully.

a lot of my theories that werent in the vid:
it is likely that mirabel is more tied to the house than the others in her family, but i think that is because while all of her relatives are out helping the village, she spends time at home, building a special bond between her and casita. but, if you watch antonia's door ceremony and mirabel's, you can see that after holding the candle, mirabel wipes her hands on her dress before touching her doorknob, but antonio doesn't touch anything but his doorknob after holding the candle. mirabel just wiped off the magic that "turns on" her power and her door, confusing the casita into making the door dissapear. also, the different families are color coded, making bruno stand out. pepa's side of the family wears orange/yellow, while julieta's side wears blues. bruno wears green, a further sign that he is different from his family. mirabel's green glasses show how she also doesn't fully feel like she fits. abuela wears a purple-pink color, and isabela wears a light purple for the first half of the movie. as isabela breaks away from abuela's perfect mold, she wears a dark blue with colorful splatters to show her growing into her true personality. if you look deeper into why abuela favored isabela so much, well, first off, isabela is the oldest of her grandchildren, only a few months older than dolores. isabela looks a lot like young abuela, as shown during abuela's memories. when isabela was little, she even wore her hair in braids like abuela used to. abuela was also pressuring isabela to marry mariano because mariano looks a lot like pedro. abuela wants isabela to have the life that she and pedro never got to have.
The creators have rejected the theory that Mirabel's lack of gift came from wiping her hands.
They've also mentioned that the hole that leads inside the walls is where Mirabel's door was going to be.

The movie taking place some time after 1988 is actually impossible due to the lack of technology and every single woman wearing a dress or skirt of some kind, meaning clothing for women hasn't changed. MatPat has found the time of 1950 closer to the actual time set in the movie. And Mirabel's gift could be exactly what you said. "The Next Abuela." This is the closest to what is possible after Abuela passes away due to the similarities that are executed differently. Abuela holds the candle when she's assessing and everyone is dead silent. With Mirabel, and possibly without the candle, everyone might give a comment because she cares about mental health.
The creators confirmed that the movie was set in 1950's, with the Encanto blessing/creation in 1900's.

there is something else i think a lot of people are missing. the emerald/lime green connections in Disney films. usually they represent evil or bad intentions but here they start off with that but end in good. I think Disney is trying to move away from giving the green a bad rep.

In the song "We don't talk about Bruno" he is walking behind Mirabel and Dolores, he walks by quickly on the first story then walks quickly across the top deck before dancing to the song which you pointed out. He walks quickly so it is a little hard to notice him before he dances to the song.

I didn't realize this until recently, but this whole entire family is not named madrigal. Agustín and Félix the fathers in this story, are not madrigals. Unless they're related. Marrying cousins for example. Which was not established. So why are they the family madrigal?
Because Madrigal is the most influential family in the community+ because their children are eligible to the gift by blood relation to Madrigals. The men just married into the family and took their wives' surname to continue the legacy.

I enjoy looking back on the movies and seeing the easter eggs, but honestly, you have to give your audience a little more credit. You believe that many people didn't notice the butterflies? I mean, they were literally everywhere and the main theme song (which has had astounding reception) is called Dos Oruguitas (two caterpillars) and sums up the movie which is analogous to a caterpillar becoming a butterfly - the way the new generation needs to take over the customs/traditions and pass them on. I mean, that's literally what the movie's about.
So yeah, sometimes calling out your audience on the obvious is at the point of being insulting.
What is more notable when you talk about butterflies is how each member of the family stands at their door and clearly looks unhappy.
