Here is a steam engineer's perspective of the roller-coaster scene: When the train goes down the vertical track. the water would all go to the front of the boiler. the fire would heat the crown sheet (the part of the firebox that touches the water, heating it up) red hot. When the train levels out, the water would run back. The water would hit the hot metal, and flash to steam. This would cause the pressure to rapidly spike so high, the pop valves (safety valves_ would lift, but only for a second, as the steam would find the weakest area to punch through. The weakest area would be the hot metal of the crown sheet, and the steam would go through it like a hot knife through butter. The resulting explosion would send shrapnel through the cars, killing everyone.
I have one sin. The boy got the bell under the christmas three and his parents didn't gave him that. So his parents arent thinking: "Who the heck gave him that?". Because his parent can't possibly just buy one of santas bells in wall mart.
The gifts come from Santa apparently, not the parents. So why can't they hear the bell? Did the gifts just appear and they're just completely oblivious as to where they came from?
the number of coaches constantly changes throughout the movie. the wolf scene had 20 or so coaches, the ice scene has +/- 5 and the scare scene implies that the train consists of only 3 coaches.
If u guys look at the elves marching, well if u see it, there is an elf that its arms and legs are not moving whatsoever but what is weird is he is still moving like the other elves! So he is basically moving with his arms and legs not moving, kinda like he is floating, that is a mistake that I noticed in the polar express.
One not mentioned, the locomotive is in reality a 1941 2-8-4 Berkshire class locomotive built by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima Ohio for the Pere Marquette railroad. It runs every year or so and is run by the Steam Railroading Institute based in Owosso Michigan.
I don't understand why this video has so many dislikes. It was clever, entertaining and actually had a narrator whose voice wasn't annoying/difficult to listen to (unlike some other people with the same style of CinemaSins videos) I'm definitely subscribing.
If i calculated correct, it is 5231 miles from Grand Rapids, Michigan to the north pole, the top speed of the Lima Loconotive Works Berkshire N-1 Class is 70MPH, how is that possible?
On that big slide, how do they not get burned or something from the friction? Their arms are clearly sliding on it, and unless it was like one of those children's slippy slides, it would have gave them SOME kind of burn.
i mean, do the metal slides at parks cause burns (not during the hot summer my dude)? nah. But falling into the presents would definitely hurt and damage quite a few of the boxes.
I've noticed that the number of passenger cars seem to change at some points during the movie. An example would be when the ticket does that whole fly away and return back to the train sequence.
I'll always love this movie. Been watching it at Christmas since it came out--but the one thing that gets me is the number of passenger cars changes in almost every scene lol When the boy & the hobo are skiing on top of them there's about 10 or 11, when they're escaping the breaking ice there's 5, when they reach the North Pole there's about 15 😂
Actually, their names were revealed in several art books. The protagonist kid's name is Chris (named after the original author), the girl's name is Holly, the know-it-all nerd's name is Lenny, and the conductor is James.
When my brother and I saw this movie the first time, we were shouting "THAT'S MANDARK" when we heard the nerdy kid's voice. Glad someone else calls him Mandark too
You never mentioned the fact that in almost every scene where you get a glimps of the train from outside it's a different length. The 2 minutes of pointless ticket flying shows a monster 30-40-some car train, while the house and north pole scenes show trains of 5-6 cars.
You forgot that when the train climbs up the mountain, it shows all the train cars with light, yet they shown the seen with all the broken un-loved toys that have no light in that train car.
I got a few more! Amount of railcars kept changing, all rigid equipment manages to bed while climbing a unreal grade, nothing to walk between the cars unlike real trains, and while sliding down the train, the creators couldn't make up their mind about which car they were at, be on top of the second car and jumping between cars 5 more times
The polar Express has always been my favorite holiday movie. I'm watching it right now and I'm 13 years old. I am also obsessed with trains so I it's really easy to know why I like this movie so much
no joke, everyday after school when u was in preschool, i would come home and watch this movie. i would have my mom make hot chocolate only during the scene with the hot chocolate. So when i say i have watched this movie thousands of times, i mean it
You forgot, earlier he got on with a safe connector between the train cars, but when he tried to get the ticket to the girl, there was a latch between them instead.
You forgot the part where the section between the passenger car and caboose car switches between a real walkway and an opened rail connection like 10 times in the movie... He enters the train and it's a closed walkway between the cars and then when he needs to cross the trains, it's suddenly a dangerous coupling with no walkway!
Its nice that someone does the ones that cinemacins dont care about
I agree
He did it
Cinema sins did it
@@hanspotterman3668 Yeah after 6 years of waiting.
This aged
Its still one of the best Christmas movies of all time in my opinion
the only confederate ill agree with.
Matthew Brunette agreed
Yep I still watch it and got no little siblings and one 20 year old brother so who cares if I'm too old too watch it because it's a good movie
Matthew Brunette Hell Yes
Matthew Brunette my favorite is Mickey once upon a Christmas. A classic.

+Soo Line lmfao
+Kodddayyy H Its the truth. look up "Steam locomotive crown sheet failure"
Soo Line
i know i was laughing because of how movies like this defy logic.
Blue 16 its a magic train, not a normal one
Hello fellow locomotive engineer- and yep, you are right!
This is the best Christmas movie ever
i have had to see it for the past 12 years 3X each christmas i hate it now
Except Home alone
@ROCCO PAULMENO see this comment represent the fandom when ever they hear if someone have a nagative opinion on it
I have one sin. The boy got the bell under the christmas three and his parents didn't gave him that. So his parents arent thinking: "Who the heck gave him that?". Because his parent can't possibly just buy one of santas bells in wall mart.
Tom Hanks appears at least 10 times in the credits, trust me, I counted it
+hectictea 24 +10 more sins to the movie.
So true
Hectictea 24 Productions
Because he voices the little boy as an adult/ the narrator
Santa
The boys dad
The conductor
And the hobo
Nice profile pic
The gifts come from Santa apparently, not the parents. So why can't they hear the bell? Did the gifts just appear and they're just completely oblivious as to where they came from?
hey you forgot one sin. when the train was going through those woods it had 20 coaches and then on the ice, had 5.
the number of coaches constantly changes throughout the movie. the wolf scene had 20 or so coaches, the ice scene has +/- 5 and the scare scene implies that the train consists of only 3 coaches.
This is weird. That is definitely a sin
Mike Pericolosi Agreed
Mike Pericolosi It's a magic train, remember?
If u guys look at the elves marching, well if u see it, there is an elf that its arms and legs are not moving whatsoever but what is weird is he is still moving like the other elves! Heraldo... Brutalmoose anyone?
+Queen Rosecat Strong You're correct. :)

Lysander789 Can't believe you actually answered XD
Lysander789 THIS IS MY FAVE CHRISTMAS MOVIE!!! YA RUINED ITP!
Guys Cinema sins NEVER made a video called Everything Wrong With The Polar Express
I'M SO GLAD THIS EXISTS. They won't do it for some reason, and the quality and care that went into this is ace!
You forgot a amazing Easter egg in the movie when the hair pin is flying around in the background you will see a working Fluxcapacitor
Still my favorite Christmas movie
Dead, dead, dead and definitely dead! I couldn't hold my laughter 😂😂
HERE TOO
That was definitely the funniest part of the video. XD
RemzieBradford11 same its so 😂 funny
It's funny as well
I don't understand why this video has so many dislikes. It was clever, entertaining and actually had a narrator whose voice wasn't annoying/difficult to listen to (unlike some other people with the same style of CinemaSins videos) I'm definitely subscribing.
That's because this guy doing the review doesn't no jack shit about trains
For an inspiration, this is really good! BTW I LOVE THAT YOU ADDED APOLLO JUSTICE'S OBJECTION!
How did the elves throw their hats so dang high?!
If i calculated correct, it is 5231 miles from Grand Rapids, Michigan to the north pole, the top speed of the Lima Loconotive Works Berkshire N-1 Class is 70MPH, how is that possible?
I watch this movie every year during Christmas at school
The 3 parts of this comment section:
"You ripped off CinemaSins!"
"FU for hateing dis movie! N O S T A L G I A"
"XD, this vid is so funny!😂😂😂"
2:44 rip who the heck built this frickin operation? Anton Swartzkoph
I STILL LOVE THIS BACKGROUND MUSIC IN 4:37
Don't you know that one of the drivers almost said ass in this PG movie? Doesn't that count?!
Where?
At the caribou part. Where the train had to stop.
I like how you gave the unnamed characters names that are accurate.
Category: Gaming
Not bad for a "Not CinemaSins Everything Wrong". Not bad at all
On that big slide, how do they not get burned or something from the friction? Their arms are clearly sliding on it, and unless it was like one of those children's slippy slides, it would have gave them SOME kind of burn.
I know, right? And it looks pretty metal to me. Also they are in their nightgowns and it may rip the fabric, giving opportunity for MORE burn.
i mean, do the metal slides at parks cause burns (not during the hot summer my dude)? nah. But falling into the presents would definitely hurt and damage quite a few of the boxes.
I've noticed that the number of passenger cars seem to change at some points during the movie. An example would be when the ticket does that whole fly away and return back to the train sequence.
"You are just like me, my friend. A SCROOGE!"
No I'm Not.
+Zephyr4501 Ah!
"Ebeneezer Scrooge! North Pole, Santa Claus, this train, IT'S ALL A BUNCH OF HUMBUG!"
That's a cool reference. The same director would make that movie in the same medium 5 years later.
The worst thing is the number if carriages on the train keeps changing
There is nothing wrong with this
You do realise that this is a Parody of CinemaSins. If you are unfamiliar with their humour I suggest you don't watch the video or comment.
Vintage sonic 1 yea...........sorry about that
And also check “Goofs in ‘The Polar Express’” by GWR Studios.
its just for entertainment
weirdo 1256 2:08 an annoying song so yes
I'll always love this movie. Been watching it at Christmas since it came out--but the one thing that gets me is the number of passenger cars changes in almost every scene lol
When the boy & the hobo are skiing on top of them there's about 10 or 11, when they're escaping the breaking ice there's 5, when they reach the North Pole there's about 15 😂
There’s nothing wrong with this masterpiece
1:37 no. Unless the tender is an LNER corridor tender (and it isn't), there would be no convenient way to get to the cab via the coaches.
How do they not freeze at the north pole
This guy is like a decent substitute for cinemasins
so much better than the one he recently made, this video is amazing!
Actually, their names were revealed in several art books. The protagonist kid's name is Chris (named after the original author), the girl's name is Holly, the know-it-all nerd's name is Lenny, and the conductor is James.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
This was Halarious!!!!!!!!!!I laughed at all of them even when u said s**** Saftey!!!LOL!!!!
You forgot to mention that Santa asks about Billy's name when he should already know every child in the world.
I'm sure Santa already knew his name, he just wanted Billy to acknowledge Santa as a real person
Thanks for doing this, i've been searching for the eww tpe for a long time.
for all who think this is either Ripping off or Stealing, read the description. Saves you time. ;)
I loved this movie when I was little
4:18
"MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE!!!!"
haha this video was actually pretty funny and good
4:23, the boy's slippers would fall right off
When the kids are zooming around in the slide things, that is the only time a "Roller Coaster simulation" in a movie has worked on me.
This is hilarious and I love this video and the film
Scentence should have been "Stalled on Glacier Gulch".
When my brother and I saw this movie the first time, we were shouting "THAT'S MANDARK" when we heard the nerdy kid's voice. Glad someone else calls him Mandark too
I have a sin. The number of train cars is always changing when they show the whole train
the tickets are magically bonded to the train so they cant get lost. thats why the conductor was so shocked when he realized what had happened
When you first see them, some of the elves aren't animated. They're just sliding in a walking pose
You never mentioned the fact that in almost every scene where you get a glimps of the train from outside it's a different length. The 2 minutes of pointless ticket flying shows a monster 30-40-some car train, while the house and north pole scenes show trains of 5-6 cars.
AWESOME MOVIE
5:45 So You're A Brony Huh? Don't Worry We've Been There.
+TheMasterKiller2013 yeah the movie predicted the mlp fandom
There is way more than just 60
CallMeConrad yeah Ikr
this is the best movie of all time
no one cares
60 sins in under 7 minutes. That's gotta be a world record of something.
4:21 This video has now made me love this song more than I Cry and Sugar.
I've been waiting for years for someone else to realize Sin #47.
What about that error at the very beginning where two alphabet books on the shelf are in the incorrect order (M, P, N-O, Q-R)?
I swear the narrator must've watched brutalmoose's polar express video
and notice how in the beginning how the buckle connecting the two train cars is a room, but later it is a slippery buckle
The boy would not have hyperthermia, he would have hypothermia.
I can explain why they went on the roof of the train: some parts of the train are sealed off /prohibited to go in except for the staff of the train.
The last great movie when it comes to Christmas. A beautiful masterpiece.
You forgot to mention the thousands of elves appearing out of nowhere.
5:28 what song is that???
Heroes of the Olympus~I believe in me and you.
when i wasnt a brony i didnt know why you said "can you edit that out please?"
now im a complete brony i was like "No. we have to leave it in."
1. Your thinking to practical 2. Nice space balls reference
Especially on a Amtrak train hot chocolate could spill and burn?
You forgot that when the train climbs up the mountain, it shows all the train cars with light, yet they shown the seen with all the broken un-loved toys that have no light in that train car.
also the same pink dollhouse in the train and it appeared in the boys house
I got a few more! Amount of railcars kept changing, all rigid equipment manages to bed while climbing a unreal grade, nothing to walk between the cars unlike real trains, and while sliding down the train, the creators couldn't make up their mind about which car they were at, be on top of the second car and jumping between cars 5 more times
this makes me laugh
I can't believe that he didn't mention that polar express looks X2 longer in the wolves part
you forgot the fact that theres like 7 train cars but only like 10 kids. there should be 100 or more
You will NOT destroy the magic of Christmas!
no one gives a shit
He didn’t point out the conductor....
He *DABS*
Why does No One like this Film? :(Its my Favourite Christmas Film, But I Want to Know why does everyone dislike it?
ikr it has alot of noticable sins but still its a good movie
Yeah I Guess :)
I love it too
+SeventhWall34 i love tis movie
What do you mean people don't like it? Everyone I know absolutely loves it!
The polar Express has always been my favorite holiday movie. I'm watching it right now and I'm 13 years old. I am also obsessed with trains so I it's really easy to know why I like this movie so much
I remember watching this every year when I was younger

This should've been just 7 minutes of word "Nothing" on the screen.
I find it weird that the train, on it's side grinding into the ice, doesn't break it. But a hairpin can. MOVIE LOGIC
You forgot, earlier he got on with a safe connector between the train cars, but when he tried to get the ticket to the girl, there was a latch between them instead.
Did you get the name "Heraldo" From BrutalMoose? He calls him the same thing in his review of the game...
+JubioGaming And he made his video 2 years earlier
+JubioGaming Yes.
Lysander789 Thought so lol
Nice Profile Picture Ed Edd n' Eddy
You forgot the part where the section between the passenger car and caboose car switches between a real walkway and an opened rail connection like 10 times in the movie... He enters the train and it's a closed walkway between the cars and then when he needs to cross the trains, it's suddenly a dangerous coupling with no walkway!
How dare you. This was my childhood. 😢😭😭
have you heard of the word opinion?
the number of choaches changes from 5 to 10
speaking of ludicours speed , do everything wrong with space balls
I dont get it why theres some unecessary sin count :(
cgi tom hanks sounds like woody
Duh..
That Locomotive is the real live engine of Pere Marquette 1225
Brutalmoose called him Heraldo too
Heraldo... someone watches Brutal Moose
4:21 i expected running in the 90's
