it's that there is so much that's unknown about the participants and their connections that so many wild conspiracies are fueled. One might think that the police would have asked DM, and all the BF's exactly where they were, and would have statements from every person, that those people said they were with that entire night, to have every minute of all the other student's evening mapped out to the minute, but since none of that is public, people are free to speculate, what anyone was doing prior to the crime.

It’s not about the details of the case, you can go outside for the parts that are too hard. It’s about being in that courtroom for Ethan. To represent your son. I can’t imagine making such a hard decision and being scrutinized for it when it’s my child.

I agree, I also don’t think she needs to sit there to know, imo she already knows everything that happened to him and reliving that in person in such detail, publicly, in front of his accused killer. I could understand why she wouldn’t. I’d want to be there but I have empathy for why she wouldn’t. People process trauma differently. I just wish people would ease up on her. @@pepperprovasnik yes, Lord have mercy! We all know she did, but no one was showing pics and describing what happened in great detail, to her son, the way it will in court. The minor stuff they did was nothing compared to what she already probably knows. Huge difference but nice try. Trying to find a way to cope with the pain is much different than reliving the brutal killing of her son step by step. Maybe that was a way to get her feet wet to see if she could by listening to the minor things…How do you know going to trial wouldn’t put her in a place of not wanting to live or depression so deep she can’t function for her other children. She still has to live. That woman knows what happened to her son imo. Empathy and understanding everyone is different is important! No way I’m talking down about her when she’s experiencing the greatest pain in the world! Some people can’t handle that on top of the reliving the brutality. I hope no one ever judges your decisions in grief and you get more empathy than you give. Loosing a child, It’s like being sprayed in the eyes with mace and expected to function while your hit with mace every hr. The pain never leaves but always flares. It’s an unexplainable pain. Think from a grieving parents perspective, out side the realm of what you know, and what if she honestly can’t. Showing up won’t bring him back and killing herself from the pain won’t either. Yeah she can go lay down and die after the trial but what about her children? What if it’s what Ethan would have been ok with. You think she’s supposed to go outside her own instincts to follow everyone else’s. No she shouldn’t. It’s not easy for people to think outside of their own experiences but when you do and can you tend to understand people better. ❤️🙏

DNA of Kohberger at the scene and an eye witness. This in addtion to cell phone/gps data and video showing him near the scene where he had zero business being near (He lived in a different town) and that it will most likely be presented that Kohberger was cybor stalking at least one of them. No one can judge this poor mom for how she is dealing with the devastating loss and grief of her son. I admire her for being able to not lose her mind completely, and this is obviously her way of dealing with it all. Also, she has her other two children and they are triplets- same age, same school, and as a mom would more than likely be trying to hold it together for them and protect them from the cruel world and social media and news. Her pain is written all over her face. May God give her the strength and comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻

The true crime community is quite various, but certainly includes a fair amount of moral nihilists. I live in Moscow have two from UI. Our town and university have been mercilessly attacked by observers who know nothing first hand about us. The pace of this case is slower than tortoise speed and the “theories” of what happened range from plausible to beyond ludicrous. IMO, after following many dozens of videos and podcasts, the prosecution has the right guy and will prove it. But will we have to wait five years for a trial. Too often, the four victims, the surviving roommates, and the families, are all but forgotten in a blizzard of You Tube clicks and talking heads. When I think of what happened in that house that night,I am still truly horrified. Justice for the victims!

Biggest problem right now... the defense wants all of the evidence after putting forward an extremely weak alibi. The prosecution is saying, give us the details of your alibi according to Idaho state law. The defense deserves all of the defense to prepare for trial... not so sure to "manufacture" an alibi based on what the prosecution has on him. If his alibi was legitimate and credible, he would have put it forward long ago. New problem: his phone was off for around two or more hours including the time of the murder. So, how does he even prove his whereabouts when there is no cell evidence during that time? That's what makes his DNA on the knife sheath of the probable murder weapon, and the video footage of the car so powerful. There is also not a shred of legitimate evidence of anyone else being involved. BK wasn't a socialite, he was a turnoff to everyone around him. Lastly, his relationship with WSU was deteriorating based on FOIA requests of emails sent to him from the WSU staff. He was miserably failing their plan for him to improve his behavior, not his grades, his behavior. His opportunity to acquire a PhD, and prove all of the past bullies and doubters, maybe even women who rejected him, was ending at the exact time of these crimes.

The victim's mother's remarks on the true crime community are apposite, it seems to me. It's become a sort of spectator sport, with the people in the crowd picking sides, speculating on the characters and motives of all the protagonists, and projecting their own experiences, biases and expectations onto individuals they do not know, who are experiencing extreme publicity, stress and trauma. The judgenent and the speculation that goes on can often be very harsh, arbitrary and emotivebin tone, and also very wide of the truth. This case is particularly lurid, and the extreme delay in going to trial must be nigh on unbearable for the families of the victims. I'm not surprised that this woman has mentally detatched herself from the case. It's a survival strategy, and yet people who have no idea of what her lived experience of a terrible bereavement is actually like judge her and make insinuations that might overwhelm her if she were to dwell on them. Ultimately, this circus of attention, speculation and unconstrined debate risk trivializing the individual human tragedies at the heart of these crimes, and habituating the wider society to violence, death and trauma. America has the highest intentional homicide rate in the developed world, the highest rate of violent crime, the largest prison population of any liberal democracy both in absolute and per capita terms, the harshest sentences, and of course an astonishing number of firearms and military grade semiautomatic weapons circulating freely in the general population without any meaningful regulation. The richest countrybin the world is also one of the most dangerously violent societies in the world, and people just shrug and say that's life, like they're too numb to care. To many outsiders looking in, it seems incredibly dysfunctional and frankly disturbing.

Do they claim to be Christian? Christ said "let the Dead bury their own" Generally this means to focus on serving the lord, rather than following traditions, granted it's not as simple as this, but them looking towards the past and spending time on something that won't bring their son back vs them opting to live a different example, could be reflective of this attitude? no claims or criticisms intended, but demanding answers seems incongruent with a Christian's desire to serve Christ.

Nothing changes the outcome, but getting the proper perp(s) is very important. Otherwise, another innocent kid loses his life. The prosecution's case is falling apart. How did they even get the GJ to indidict? The truth will come out as far as BK, but the overall truth may never come out. Wait & see.

That would only make sense if there were multiple killings. This was a one-time incident. So, saying it's been over a year and no other murders is irrelevant

My brother was murdered and my Mom could barely function at first. It took a very long time for her to get better. Why wouldn’t you want to represent your loved one in court no, it won’t bring them back but following through to the end and seeking justice for them is part of the healing process. She seems absolutely fine with all of it like she could care less her son is gone and can’t be bothered. Very strange behavior.

I'm not entirely convinced that this guy did it. Families, with clearly alot of money, the murders have to be answered for them. I wonder what would happen if its discovered that he actually didn't do it? If he was setup to take the fall, they definitely ain't letting that out of the bag. I believe there's a difference between Justice, and the Truth. I'd want the Truth.
