Also wanted to say that for any tradesmen out there, this fits perfectly in my work cargos utility knife pockets and same for my belt pouches. And it's WAAAY cooler and barely more costly than a beat up old Stanley utility knife!
I have both the clone and the real McCoy. I got the clone to see if I'd like the real one without paying a few hundred to find out. Simply put, the clone is a very good knife, and for $22 it's an EXCELLENT knife. Something to note Fred, I was able to stiffen up the detent by bending the lock spring to the point where it's flush with the outside of a scale when said scale is laid flat against the inside of the liner right in front of the spring. This put enough lateral pressure on the half-assed detent indent..
Re: Screws. The fake PM3 I got from them has T8 on the pivot and T6s on the scales. The OK branded "carbon fiber" PM3 copy has T8 on the pivot and scales (in quotes because it's not real carbon fiber).
For the price, why would anyone expect anything to be real regardless of what the description says. It’s a clone and it’s still better than most budget knives
I almost bought one of these, but the primary grip looked like it was way rearward . Thanks for confirming. Loving the white CF 81 Spiderco PM2 copy (their OK branded one , not a clone) . Hey Blades On A Budget , you might check out the $50-ish Hytron Hotknives 3.6" bar lock knife , black/cf/g10 . Its an incredible slicer , great action (better than most bar locks) , good ergos , thumb studs and hole , super light (under 3 oz). It's the best budget knife I've bought this year , the year of the budget knife, imo. Only a couple of compilations and one review on youtube . Available on White Mountain Knives.
Just FYI, I contacted OK Knives about the steel they use on their OK branded knives. They said all their knives are VG-10, which logically applies to the ones they call S30V. VG-10 is a fine steel, so I don't mind. Not sure that makes sense because they charge more for what they claim are better steels (S30V, M390). If they're all VG-10 that's weird.
I’m perfectly happy with VG10 at these prices. But you’ll be seeing the OK81 here soon, which is supposed to be M390?? Really wondering about that? Has anyone seen any tests out there that would validate it’s real?
I grabbed that Chavez kick stop rendcition or whatever. I'm impressed with it. I can't see a real worth close to 10x what they cost. The ad 20.5 was really nice too after spring broke in. The shark cub(smaller version of ad 20.5) came yesterday. Its spring is off. Hopefully ill able to remedy. Lil smaller than what's used in ball point pens
I compressed my spring for about 24 hours & that helped. Other people have cut off a few of the coils from the end to shorten it a little to reduce the spring tension. But be sure to try to assemble the knife without the spring at all & make sure the sliding lock bar still moves smoothly. Mine did not & I had to sand down the sides of that lock bar. Made all the difference!
LOL. Ok. I’ll try to keep the jokes to a minimum. Just trying to lighten the mood a little. People get so serious about this stuff. I just want everyone to have some fun with it. 🤷♂️
Laminated Carbon Fiber ( a single layer of carbon fiber imbedded in G10 ) the pocket clip looks like a standard issue Spyderco to me ( it is looks identical to the original ) only thing that differs from the original is the second detent ball , everything else is spot on besides the d2 blade steel.( and this is why I DO NOT HAVE ANY REMORSE FOR BUYING COUNTERFEIT KNIVES ).
The real one is supposed to be 0.12” and this one is 0.13”. They often say that “the camera adds 20 pounds to everyone”. Maybe that applies to knives too! 😂
The original does have just the a tape of carbon fiber I did my Intel as well as all the other ones that are made in Taiwan and the real one is I believe $250 + there's two similar ones that are made in Taiwan that have the same carbon fiber tape and they also run over $200 +
For sub $25 bucks, your really complaining, I have the same carbon looking knock off, it cuts my apples at work better than the plastic knives work provides. Would I use it for heavy use or an overnight camping trip, of course not, Get what you pay for. Pm2 an pm3 bearing OK version, awesome amazon box openers, lost my shaman OK, big Flippin deal, another on its way. thanks for the reviews!
So you know all the other ok knives were clones but not this one , you thought they were gonna send u a real one at 10th price. Now u feel cheated after buying a bunch of clones from them. Satire ? Well anyway have debated on buying the CF stitch u made a video of but still not sure about supporting a clone company. They have ok site and ky knives too
Their clone Smock is incredible IMO. Works flawlessly for a tenth of the price
Also wanted to say that for any tradesmen out there, this fits perfectly in my work cargos utility knife pockets and same for my belt pouches. And it's WAAAY cooler and barely more costly than a beat up old Stanley utility knife!
They got some top notch customer service!

Thanks man. That’s a good tip! I really do like the overall design. Will try to bend that lock bar a little & see if that helps. 👍
I glued a thin magnet on the inside of each scale, and the detent is savage now...

Thanks for the tip! I had not seen that knife before. Looks very interesting! 👍

You’re paying for the markings, not real steal. They’re making illegal copies so don’t take their word as fact when they’re breaking the law
Ok branded knives are called out true ( they are what the blade steel says ) they use D2 on most of their counterfeits.
@@anthonyrollins9825 That makes more sense. I re-profiled one of their knives marked S30v and it took forever. It's not a soft steel.

@@BladesOnABudget I'd love to know if it's real. I have no way to test it, myself.

What is “I don’t know if this is a real knife” pretend game? 😂
The sarcasm killed this video for me. The straight to the point reviews are way better

That blade is WAY thicker than the real smock...its cartoonishly thick

For $23 bucks, you didn't get cheated.
maybe not. 😂
The real one is also peel ply.

It’s a knife and it cuts stuff. Plum darn Keeler imho
👍. Can’t argue with that!
This is your MO
.... You know it's not real, you have reviewed so many clones.
What? I think I’m offended by that. 😂

👍 That OK81 is a great knife! I might have gotten ripped off on that one too. 😎

😂 Yep. The OK81 is a good knife. You might just see that one coming up very soon!
