ETEC 25 safe mode water pump

My etec 25 has had issues from day one. We took it into the dealership 2 times. The tube that goes from water pump to power head was not properly installed it took a good dealership with good technician to figure the s out after 2 years of complaints and service. EVINRUDE did warranty this issue.

I realized this is an older post but I had the same issue. The problem was overheating. I put in a new water pump that didn't fix the issue but it did reveal a faulty power head gasket that prevented enough water through the cooling system subsequently causing motor to go into safe mode.

I have the same engine with the same problem. It took one year to figure out. Now two years later about 60 hours later and it back at the dealer waiting for a response.

I had the same issue on new etec 30 I bought in 2017. Water tube is flared and inserts into a grommet block under the power tube. It popped out……After 4 years of going back to the dealer for water pumps (6 water pump replacements) I got fed up and drove 150 miles to another Eviinrude mechanic and he figured it it was the water tube. Now if runs like a beast. It’s an amazing outboard. I’m glad I didn’t get rid of it……

How much was the cost to replace it ?

My bill was about $600 but I had other work done. I would say abut $250-300 would be for that alone.
Don’t give up on it…..When they are running right it will be a beast of a motor. Same HP 4 strokes can’t touch it…….

Recurrir a internet por un "simple" problema de refrigeración cuando otra cosa no habrá en el planeta pero agua...la q quieras
Muy mal por evinrude BRP o llámale como quieres, me gasté un buen dinero y aun no está claro q sea eso...

hi..the gas pump of my enverude etsc 30 hp engine is constantly receiving electric current. The engine locks itself without starting. ecu is solid. how can i fix it..

I think I have the same problem, once it dies can you throttle off then back on, is it like normal until it dies again?

Thsnks for the video. My 30 etec is doing the same thing. Did you confirm it was the water pump and did the condition go away when you changed it?

Rob Holly no it is the water intake pipe. The water pipe grommet is a recall I think go to an E tech dealer they will have to warrantee it

E tech has a problem with their water intake pipe that runs to the top of the powerhead from the impeller take it to an E tech dealer they will fix it.

Did that fix it I have a 2014 30hp e tec as well it just started doing it I don’t know what to do the shops are way to far out
