Really wish you would do more videos (like weekly)….
Ideas to do videos on….
1) Tour of your family property and what plans you have for it.
2) say where you obtained your skills will explosives
3). Say where you obtained your skills in repair and welding…..
4). Explain how you knew how to create a rock crusher (you did a lot of work on that). And when you expect to start using it full time)
5). Your still showing a lot of clearing trees and building roads, but you never explained what the actual goals are.
You Are an extremely talented young man and I have really enjoyed your videos!
More insight of who you are and your dreams would be wonderful to hear.

Breaking up stumps without a toothbucket is to say the least challenging. You had great help in that the blast cracked the stump. Stumps that big are probably easier to bring up if you charge in the rootlegs. A most entertaing video, love to see more.
Also, it will work better if you can get under the stump. it will then pop out of the hole after the side roots are severed. The reason it just cracked was that the hole wasn't deep enough
Loved seeing everything being blown up and the the finished road after the culvert pipe was installed. Was satisfying to see. I would have thought that the tree stump would’ve blown up more than it did. But it sure was fun to watch. Especially all the camera angles and the slow motion was fun to see. That was great, thank you 🙏😄👍
Another great video. Love explosives 😊. A tip I learnt from an old chap was to cut a square of rubber mud flap or worn tyre and drill a hole and push it onto the drill bit. It works as a deflector and stops debris dust and crap coming upwards or in your face

I am a small engine repair man for construction workers and am pretty sure that that rock drill, which is actually just a stronger version of a rotary hammer, will drill much more effectively when you're not pushing on the drill. The weight of the drill at self is the correct amount of down pressure. If you want the drill to perform better, the engine should be able to throttle up and run much faster.
Based on my limited experience with the smaller Hilti drill hammer, I think they drill even faster when you Don't apply any pressure, other than the machine weight.
You could be right, but I believe that drill is running flat out already they're not variable speed like most 2 stroke tools. They have a fuel screw that controls mixture so you can adjust it for altitude and temperature, a choke and "throttle" which is the black spring plunger you can see nearest Mattias' hands at 5:53 and it rests in the wide open position and is used mainly as a shut off for the engine when fully depressed.

I am getting to be long in the tooth myself, and this is secondhand info from my grandpa so... Anyway. When they blasted stumps back in the day they dug under it and put the dynamite there before lighting the fuse and running for cover. Loads of splinters going anywhere. They did not have excavators so used dynamite for this when available/commercially viable. They also blasted ditches to save on digging by hand.

We used to let the stumps dry, drill holes in them, fill them with fuel once a day after getting home from work for a week. Light them up on sat and a couple days later a big hole in the ground was all that was left. Takes a while but work with the tools you have lol

I have shot a fair amount of stumps in the Oregon woods to get them out of the access road right of way.
We would take a heavy metal bar and make a hole into the ground under the stump. We would then "spring" the hole with about 1/4 stick of powder and make it bigger. Do it again until you had a small cavern under the stump. We would then put in a stick of powder and then pour in some ANFO. Cover it with dirt and detonate it. You have to play with the amount of ANFO but I have used 50 #'s on some big fir stumps. Start small and be careful. This can launch the stump quite a ways in the air. The ideal would be to just roll the stump out of the ground.
Yep , gotta get UNDER the stump , at least 1/3 of the way .
Slower boom is your friend , unless you use to much and / or get to close .
People have been pancaked by flying stumps just like this .
ANFO is nearly ideal since it has a slower VOD and generates a lot of gas .
Perfect for moving dirt and heaving large amounts of rock .
Back when they still made actual dynamite , 40% or lower NG content was the preferred stuff for stumping .
Pretty sure nobody really makes NG based explosives anymore .
It was long ago replaced with safer alternatives like ANFO , water gells , binary explosives like Kinepak , etc ..
My dad spoke of doing this when he was in the military.
Well, it turned out one of the stumps had already been shot out before, it just happened to be standing back in it's old hole with a bit of frost holding it in place. With the charge measured for the previous stumps, they sent that one flying...

@24:22 I think it's easier to remove stumb, by digging into soil surrounding it and remove roots holding onto ground. Alternatively, there's commercial stumb grinder, which is a hydraulic driven, modulus attachment cater for existing excavator.

The product for blasting is not expensive, it's everything around it that is. But the dynamite and detonator for this was maybe around 30 Dollars. Thanks!

For the stump removal, you need to drill a hole at a 45 degree angle into the base of the stump. It should lift the stump out of the ground.

People here in America years ago when dynamite was bought at the hardware store they would dig down and place the dynamite under the stump that’s how a lot of clearing was done back in the olden days

Upon the in gaugement of this design add a transmission attachment to stop the jackhammering affect as a action of swing on the lower handle that's is stationary!
Loved all the different views of the blast. If you're doing a lot of stump removal, have you considered a 'grinding' attachment for the excavator? Or do you need the whole thing, roots and all removed? Then change the bucket on the excavator. It would also make it easier to dig out rocks.

Before seeing the blast of the stump I would say it will split to 2-3 pieces but still be well anchored to the ground

You appear to have a very wide range of expertise. Blasting wasn't what I was expecting next on the channel :O
Blasting stumps, the charge has to be drilled under the stump and not in the center of the stump, the whole point is to get the lift from the explosion to remove the stump from the ground.
If your explosies are under the stump it will come out of the ground very fast.
Use an auger bit and drill ad a 45 degree angle hole from the side of the stump near the ground level to the bottom side of the stump. 2 sticks of dynamite will remove the most large stump.
I know I blew up a stump ones that measured 2 meter across, and the stump was lifted 5 meters into the sky or more.
It's good to have explosives. And if not, we make it easier. We dig in, fill it up with dead wood, set it on fire. The next day, the burst stones are removed.

I am from germany and im wondering. Are you certified to work with explosives, where do you buy it ? How are the laws down there?
In Germany you would have to hire someone to do it and deal with a lot of regulations.
you saw fountain-type of cloud going up vertically, what if you had put a big stone on top of the truck. would not the force gone more vertically splitting the wood more effectively?

Got it back when i worked in a mine. You need to work with it a minimum of 1 year to get it.

Use a 1/4 stick to blow a void under the stump then use a 1/2 stick in the void with a 5 lb coffee can of commercial nitra fertilizer and pour some diesel on the fertilizer. Plug the void under the stump with a rock and dirt and pack it in the void. The blast will blow the whole stump out of the ground intact. I blew many stumps on the farm this way and using mostly commercial fertilizer is a lot cheaper and does a better job then just using dynamite.
Let it dry out then fill it with diesel and burn it out?

You need to be way deeper in a stump,May take three sticks and then seal the hole.
Against wood...try to install dynamite between the lower part tree and ground, it should be much more efficient

Firstly 👍, secondly for the stump you have to put the explosive under the stump and use a bigger quantity of slow explosive. The type you are using to break rocks cannot do it.
