    I bought this bottle over Thanksgiving after finding not much else at a reasonable price on Long Island (shocking, right). But I really like my batch. Has a fantastic rich cherry note that was unique to me. Now I may pick up one of their higher-end offerings should I come across one for a fair price.

    At 91 proof, 10 years, and $80, I think I would have to stick with Russell's Reserve for less than half that price. I prefer Russell's to Eagle Rare. Going to go pick up a bottle of Dickel 15 year today. Heard good things and its around $70 here. Cheers!

      Last bottle of WJ10 I bought seems like the majority of the blend was compromised of George Dickel whiskey. Felt like a bit of a scam when 100 proof 13 year Dickel Bonded is on the shelf at $50.
      My money goes over to scotches like Clynelish 14 or Talisker 10 before buying WJ10 at $80 again.

      I would agree. Guess I'm on the wrong channel as I have no room in my budget for an $80 bottle of bourbon when cheaper bourbons are available. Of course, if they get the bottles for free or donated, more power to them.

      @stuffandwhiskey  ปีที่แล้ว

      Our last bottle/batch of Russell's 10 purchased over a year ago was just alright, but we just picked up another for some video content and we are really enjoying this new bottle quite a bit. Batches can vary in flavor over time just like single barrels can vary in flavor, and it's hard to argue with the value of the flavor in this Russell's 10 bottle for $35.

  • @iconr6racer
    @iconr6racer ปีที่แล้ว

    • @stuffandwhiskey
      @stuffandwhiskey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those are a bit darker with a heavier caramel influence where this is a bit more fruit and oak, but if we get a bottle we'll certainly throw it into head-to-heads against those two!

      @curtboxley7678 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do like some that are 84, 86, 90 proof, etc. But generally, if a bottle is around $80.00. I feel that I can justify spending the $ if it is a higher proof....or a special bottle....I mean Russell's Reserve is a ten year old 90 proof bourbon and I can still find it for $40.00 or less.

    • @stuffandwhiskey
      @stuffandwhiskey  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@curtboxley7678 that’s usually where we land too. We do think this is a pretty big cut above Russell’s 10 and Eagle Rare in quality though. The flavor profile is different, but interestingly enough, this feels more like a value option (if you can even say that at $80) over Michter’s 10 rather than a slightly better take on $40 10 year bourbon. Folks paying $150-200+ for Michter’s for “premium” low proof 10 year bourbon when this sits on shelves is kind of wild.
