That is not correct. There are two chants. Pow and Pull and they are not the same.
a little powwww(er), means more thottle. A little pullllll means pulling back on the stick.
If anyone is curious, they talk like that to help with coordination. More gradual changes are given in long commands with the tempo of speech to convey how long the maneuver should take.
They also don't wear pressurized suits because they limit cockpit movements, so they practice a series of grunting techniques to combat the intense G forces.
The g suits dont limit movement. They dont use them because they can introduce unwanted control movements on the stick when the inflate/delate

One of the things that I really like about both The Blue Angels and The Thunderbirds is even if they are doing an airshow off base, they still perform the landings and shut down if they were in front of a crowd.
The RAF Red Arrows do the same. Right from engines on, cockpit closure and everything. It brings them into focus for the extreme demands of high speed close formation aerobatics.
I feel like they are always landing in front of a crowd. It might be a crowd of 1 but I’m sure everyone is paying attention

I'm amazed by the simultaneous takeoffs and landings. A whole lot different from regular ATC.
@@BadWebDiver I'm used to seeing f-18's taking off in groups of 2-4 with like 10 seconds in between each jet and that's pretty cool to watch, but man is the simultaneous takeoff amazing to see.

This is the third view of the fly-by I have seen in the last 15 mins (in cockpit with Angels, then from Stadium) and this is by far the best. I love the added audio of the Boss calling the shots! Thanks for posting.

Singing is a way of timing maneuvers as a preferred way of inflight communication ,for the other jets.they use it as a timing method and they actually sit in preflight and practice the singing.singing gives them a better way if timing.its like listening to a song and you know what he's going to say next and it's a planning method for the closest fly maneuvers in the flight world.they know what time and is coming next with pre selected verse that he and they have plannined.u may have been joking or just making a funny. but they found that musical interp is easier to time than just a sudden order.beside with the close proximity they fly , they all know what line is coming up next

The cadence in the voice is to help pilots hold in the formation better. Cause he goes "a little puuuuuuuuuulllllll" and meanwhile he is pulling more and more on the stick very slowly. He could go just "little pull..." but the pilots wouldn't know how much he is pulling. (I fly with my team in Flight sim X, I know the comms and I use them too)

+A Mormando Agree, pull. If you watch some of the other BA docs it's more clear (different "Boss" ) but they are saying "pull" with inflections that indicate how much pull they want from the team..

When I was at a Cubs game in chicago a couple years back, the Angels were there practicing for the air show and 3 of them buzzed the stadium. It was incredible. My wife nearly peed her self and that place cheered like they had just won the WS again.
@@maverickofkain I am late, but when I was going to college in 87 to 89 in SF Cali, the days before the air shows the blue angels would practice flying in between the high rises. My Fashion Design college was in a high rise and we got up close and personal as they went past our windows. They would startle us they came so fast through there. It is now illegal for them to do that because it is seriously dangerous, but you know the old days! LMAO!
Although growing up I use to get woken up by crop dusters skimming the roof of our ranch house. Now that will wake you up and sit you straight up in bed!

The Red Arrows don’t fly nearly this close. The Boss’s voice is giving cues on what he’s doing so the other pilots can stay in their spot in the formation.
The only thing better than this would be to see a couple F-14s ripping in full burner across the stadium, doing aileron rolls over the top while the stadium is blasting the Top Gun anthem.
Sadly, the government decided the F-14 wasn't worth upgrading anymore. :(
Also, there are no flyable F-14s in the US because we don't wan't spare F-14 parts to fall into the hands of the Iranians.

At 0:40, he was saying "brakes" - same for 6:50. 1:25, "burners", not birds. 1:40 I'm pretty sure it's "easing power, easing lower". 2:48 "at 2:30 moving to 3 [o'clock]". 5:05 "pull, now pow" - same for 5:16. Other than those, great job as always VAS team!

Great vid VAS! The only error I found was when they are first airborne, and he mentions the towers. The comment should be "Mega tower", not "Mecca tower". Sorry, just a nitpick. Great video!

When they got to the stadium, I heard different calls. One for pullllll, and one for powwweeeer. When saying power he's saying the team needs to speed up. And it makes since, because they coordinate the flyovers, to occur during a certain point in the national anthem.
i just forgot that super bowl 50 was where i live and so when i saw "levi's stadium" i was very confused
