There's a unit you missed in this video. There's a new Regiment of Renown Greenskin unit with Crossbows added in this update. They're called Ruglud's Armoured Orcs.
I have to disagree with your take on the webflinger, it's an incredibly good unit. Greenskins don't rely on their artillery to win the battle for them, but they need them to perform certain jobs such as counter-battery fire against some of the really strong single entity artillery that's in the game these days, such as dreadquakes and ogre artillery. Whilst doom divers can do this, a crew of goblins is a huge liability due to the sheer amount of army ability summons and powerful chaff like furies that are in WH3. What the webflinger gives you is an artillery piece that can do the specific jobs that Greenskins need their artillery to do without the liability of a goblin crew. Then, once it's done its job or ran out of ammo, you still have an aracknarok.
Yep, it adds versatility to the roster. Also, far more mobile than any existing artillery they have. If there's a unit in this DLC that seems completely unnecessary, I'd say it's the bolt thrower. Don't think the greenskins needed anti-large artillery in the first place, and rock lobbers are fine for cheap artillery. No idea what Nathan is talking about with the greenskins' version of Chosen, but I would've strongly preferred to see that instead. Still, I'm looking forward to this DLC!
Regardless of all that, as a proper DLC unit it is still exceptionally disappointing. It does feel more like it should have been a base game unit. Hell it's basically just a blue arachnarok with very minor model tweaks. I don't despise it, but two minor variants in one DLC is rough.
I actually think the archnarok flinger is going to be really good actually. It's not the speed debuff im concerned with, but the constant malus to vigor it can apply. Vigor is such an important stat, and losing it early can mean your units perform significantly less effective. This will be great when you synergize it with hordes of goblins to create a really frustrating, sticky front line that bogs down enemies for ages, while also still countering large center piece units. The debuff for a exhausted unit is absolutely mortifying.
I feel the Aracknarok Flinger is for themed Ranged armies. Slow the aproaching enemies with the Web ammunition and deal the actual damage with Doom Divers. If the enemy reaches your frontline, then Charge it in.
I love Skarsnik and I love all the new squigs for my night gobbos, will definitely start a new campaing. The Savage Orc Shaman also brings much needed variety to the lords roster, it was so annoying seeing regular orcs leading savage orc tribes and if you played someone like Wurzag you were stuck giving your savage orcs goblin shaman leaders if you wanted to keep the wild aesthetic.
i am hopeful that big stabba may be added in a future patch. since savage orcs are a situational unit based on locations. they kept them seperate as an flc unit. would be nice to give them an anti large, siege unit.
Who knows about further green skin units. I personally hope we get a few more… Lore master of Sotek was saying he thinks there could be one more DLC for Greenskins but idk.
I was Kinda hoping for More Hobgoblins, gnoblars or even boglars (swamp goblins) to show up, but I will take what I can and hope that dlcs now will result in More content in the future
If Hobgoblins ever happen beyond what the Chorfs bring to the field, it's gonna be as part of their own race. Other Greenskins don't like Hobgoblins whatsoever and will usually try to kill them on sight.
manglers seem to displace units a lot, so maybe they work great with large-numbers units like night goblins who benefit from a greater saturation into the enemy's ranks.
@edmundfed8515 im glad im not the only person who noticed, not making him armoured and shielded is abit sad, but to be fair he is also mounted, does a fk tonne of damage and buffs units around him... Cant have everything
Please CA, for the love of Slaanesh, now that you are with Orcs in this DLC rework the Stone Trolls to look as they are in lore and not just a recolored normal Troll
I think everyone would trade the flinger for the Gobba, that's not why we didn't got it. The real question is that you want the mengler or the Gobba(I'm just generally curious which is the most wanted unit)
It seems unlikely, but maybe they could, if they get enough income from DLCs to keep working on the game, make it so Snagla is a LL, similar to how Vlad and Isabella work. If you play as another Greenskin, you get Snagla for a LH, but if you play as Snagla, you get your own, unique leganrady hero.
Interesting to see 500 WS on the Webslinger. Iirc regular ones sit at 440 currently, so the Webslinger either does quite a bit more damage in melee, or Arachnaroks are getting a general damage boost. Edit: Nvm, apparently they were buffed to 500 in a previous update when I wasn't looking. However, interesting little detail on the Black Orcs: The Greataxe version gets a stance ability called "Unstoppable Choppaz" which buffs their damage by 25% but sacrifices 24 melee defence. Not sure if that's gonna be worth it most of the time tbh, unless if you're maybe fighting something that already has crazy high melee attack and is basically never going to miss either way.
I am pretty happy with all new units, love the flinger too. Im so glad that we finaly get Gorbad, i waited since TWW1 for him, he is by far my favorit Waaghboss.
Damn son that collosal squig has NINETY MOVE SPEED. Good luck taking those out at range. both it and the manglers look like line breakers part excellence, you throw them in (or through) the infantry line first, then your infantry line follows up and smashes into it while your squigs are theoretically pushing through to the backline. MP is going to hate these so much
Its sad that Greenskins got 2 slots taken up by a web flinging spider and a black orc variant... That could have easily been a Big Stabba, Squig Gobba, Hill Goblins or Iron Orcs (I think Iron Orcs might be a RoR tho) or do something different like Orcs with armor piercing crossbows..
Loving all the new additions except the Night Goblin big boss who feels like a very low effort reskin and doesn't really seem to offer anything new. If he had dual weapons or a bow I think I'd mind him less but he looks worse I think when compared to the Savage Ork Great Shaman who looks incredible!!!
Perhaps the goblin bolt throwers are meant to fire at monstrous infantry and cavalry, rather than single entities, since their accuracy is as bad as it is.
Piggy boy looks amazing! And the Arachnorak artillery is not a bad idea I think. It's fast which can be really useful in most of the situations. So goodbye to flying gobbos :)
I wish black orcs just came in a single unit that could switch weapons. And during the switch your melee defence was lowered to 0 for 5 seconds or something, discouraging using it whilst in melee. Would have been a cool unit.
Huh... Big'Uns seem to be in for a massive nerf. Going from 38 MA, 28 MD, 42 WS, 27 CB to 34 MA, 25 MD, 38 WS, 24 CB. That's pretty harsh across the board. I wonder if there's a point to that. Like, I could imagine that their BvL is getting boosted from 8 to something more significant in exchange in order to force them more heavily into an anti-large role instead of being a more generalist infantry. It's also possible that CA just want to encourage using more Black Orcs though, since even the basic ones seem to have gotten some handsome buffs to melee attack and charge bonus.
I think the proper use for those spear chuckas is going to be shooting at cavalry. If they are knights they are a thick unit with big models, so few spears will miss hopefully? And if it is light cavalry, while more spears will miss, you will probably be picking off models at a decent rate? Just guessing here, but I really want to like those spear chuckas. Been a Common Goblin fan since I got into Warhammer Fantasy near the end of 5th Edition as 6th Edition was just around the corner. Still got all the army books from 6th and 7th edition close at hand. I just collected them. That became off topic. Slight rant. Still, love to see me another Common Goblin unit.
Greenskin dlc is a hard sale for me with the black orc shield variant that i will have to pay when the unit already exists in the game. Its also sad that there isnt any dancing animation of the mumbo jumbo chant :(. Would be fun to see Wurrzags lord selection video dance when you use the mombo jumbo chant.
Black Orc and Aracknarok variations are kinda cheap imo considering the other great potential ideas they could've gone for instead, but I guess you can't have it all
@@PNarbz123 Dont think so. The Two big squig variants are by far the best units in the DLC by design and gameplay. Assuming Snagla buffs Aracknarok units.
Snagla+Technology unlocked lord that buffs spiders+Slinger Aracknarok sounds like a disgustingly fun combo.
