Thanks Ben. I’ve been looking at robot mowers for several years, but they’ve always been expensive and required cumbersome guide wires. Our yard has four different disconnected “zones”. This one looks like it’ll work great for us and seems to be reasonably priced. At any rate, I ordered one using your link and we’ll give it a try!
I am not sure if seperate disconnected zones will work with this one :/ I have two zones like that in my garden and I heard somewhere it wont work when they are not connected.
@@Igor-vf9lh maybe “disconnected” was the wrong word to use. :) There are good level paths between all the zones, but four different distinct broken up areas that would make defining them with wires pretty difficult. I looked at all the information and setup videos on the Segway site and it should work for us I hope. 🤞
We've had these for like 10 years here in Norway. almost every single house here have robomowers, for the last 10 years I've heard maybe 2-3 lawn mowers a year. I remember LTT making a video about it last year, and I'm just thinking "are you guys just always a decade behind?"
haha - i know this is soo true! my relatiives in the alps of austria all have robo mowers.. they laugh at north america still using gas mowers and doing all that work themselves. i might replace my wire unit with this - i like the drive around stuff vs hack everythign in my path that my current one does.
@@BenSullinsOfficial Can you make a video showing how it acts if it was trying to cut swampy grass? Very interested to see how sensitive the wheels are to getting stuck.
Are you aware of any fence gates other than Husqvarna's used by robotic lawnmowers? I think this will be the next important accessory for these since MANY homeowners have enclosed fences. Of course, at the price of these, I'm tempted to get two. I'll likely trial one for this summer to see how it goes while having to let it through the fence every time.
Can Segway Navimow run completely without WiFi signal AND without using a Smartphone App, when it is first configured properly and firmware updated using one ? Can the WiFi be disabled so it does not search for the non existing WiFi all the time - so it does not transmit any wireless signals in normal use ?
In fact, what we see in all the test videos of wireless installations is that the lawn mower robot is being tested on a very flat lawn. In fact, we would rather see how the lawn mower works when there are obstacles, such as many trees or other obstacles on the lawn. Can the lawn mower robot cleverly avoid obstacles? We also want to see if the GPS wireless signal of the machine will be affected under the shade of trees. In cloudy conditions, such as many dark clouds. Will the GPS signal also be affected? Speaking of which, can machines go out to work on rainy days? These are all very important, and if the machine can only cut grass on sunny days, there will be many restrictions If there is a swimming pool on the lawn and the lawn has a certain slope to the pool, there is a certain slope. Will the lawn mower robot fall into the swimming pool uncontrollably under the influence of gravity? All the tested lawns are very ideal, but what we would prefer to see in such a high priced robot is that it does not require wiring, but can it achieve more powerful functions beyond that? Can anyone who has actually used this robot give real feedback?
@@RobotDEVVIS i have this model and our lawn is far from perfect. It works flawless. Whenever gps signal is weak it uses the built in camera to navigate. We only had an issue at a very steep spot were the mower couldnt get up because the wheels lost grip. I installed kind of a sprocket on the wheels and now it can go up that climb.
I’m tired of my old push mower, and these smart mowers are getting so popular! 👀 I found one called ANTHBOT for $599 with auto mapping. Could you maybe review it? Would really help!
"I came across a wireless robot lawn mower priced at just $599, which is half the price or even less than this machine. It’s currently running a campaign on Kickstarter!
I just checked the price, and I’m honestly shocked at how low it is-it's even cheaper than wired mowers! Their tests seem really realistic, but I already have a mower!"
I was very excited to try this out in my yard unfortunately after wasting 2 hours of my time. First of all there was no anti-theft available system with this item, second it had a very difficult time connecting to WiFi. For the money I paid I expected connectivity and not having to buy a separate 4G device and lastly it is very hard to map. It is not AI assisted; that would mean it reads the yard much like a robot vacuum would but it doesn’t. You have guide the device around your entire yard and then after several attempts due to spotty connections in a small area, it will not mow. Very disappointing product.
I'm not very impressed. The fact that it's mostly effortless once you have the lawn mapped is a plus point but it looks like it is very slow and has to charge multiple times even to finish a lawn that's not really that large.
So the problem with that criticism is does it really matter if it takes 8 hours to mow if a robot is doing it? If you set it to mow while your at work for example and each monday and friday you go to work and come home to a mowed lawn. Does it really matter that it took the entire time you were at work to do so?
@@DarkKnightBruce Sure, up to every day. If it gets the job done by working 5 days a week, that's fine to. It is most definitely not a "cut it all at once and done for a week" kind of job. If that's what you want, like a person, I do not know of a robot that will do it like a person.
What a silly way to map a yard. Why not sell a smart roller wheel as an add-on that you use to simply walk around the area you want to mow, then have that map automatically uploaded to the mower? This would be a lot more accurate than trying to drive the mower using your phone.

amazing! Do they require wires and all that or do they have the AI camera like this one?
Yes, typically America is years behind a lot of places. Their people don't like progress LOL

What are the most popular brands ?
Really impressed with how in-depth this review is! Super useful, appreciate it!
What happens if you mow and the grass is wet? Did you have any issues with it climbing hills?
worked like a champ, wet shouldn't be a problem unless it's a swamp and the wheels get stuck

Will it evade dog poop?
I don't think so but it doesn't seem to slow it down either!
mine just runs it over 100 times and flattens it. i go pickup the poop and then hit start.
Thanks for the review! I’m trying to find a more affordable option, any tips?
Such a great review, feels so genuine and informative! 😊 Keep it up!
Great job on this review! Do you have any suggestions for smart mowers that are a bit more wallet-friendly? Would love to know!

What time of day should you run it?
Just a couple of hours after sunrise, when the grass doesn't have any dew.

You can get a 4G add on if your WiFi doesn’t reach all of your lawn. I can’t answer your specific questions though!
Appreciate the review! 🙏 The price is a bit steep for me right now... I’ll probably wait and see.

Could it mow a path arround the house?
don't see why not

Does it pick up the grass?
Is that $599 price on Kickstarter really for a wireless robot lawn mower?

How does it empty the clippings?
It leaves them on the lawn which I was told is better for it if you have it mow regularly
Because the lawn is mowed everyday, there is no need for clippings to be bagged.
Is this thing quiet enough to run at night without waking up the whole neighborhood?
100%
