I remember playing this game at an arcade in a movie theater with my grandma. I remember being impressed that something like this could be made in the 90s.
It only worked because the seek time to the track on the laser disk was so short. Still seems fast for 33 years ago.
Omgaaaaa whoever posted this i love you you took me back to childhood where my core memories live 😢
Just got hit by a Mack Truck of nostalgia. It’s wild how much of the dialogue I still remember over 30 years later.
Same, the sounds and visuals. Everything. Wild.
Was looking everywhere to find this game, didnt know the name but i found it, used to play this with my dad, he wasn’t much into videogames and wasn’t around all the time with me, but we loved to play this one together and this brings me back, he passed 3 years ago and i still miss him a lot
love u dad🖤
I have grown up playing this game when I was kid in the 1990s.
4:26 I like how every single one of these guys are like "Oh no you shot him, what should I do" then "ah yeah, I have a gun"
I'm old. I remember playing this as a kid. I loved this game.
the bartender pouring the shot and drinking it himself made me laugh, I thought he was giving to the player😂
Academy award for the bartender
I'm forever beholden to ya
Woooow man I’ve been looking for this! My dad had this in pc when I was a kid and I used to play this like crazy!! 😆
The early 90s really were something else, wish I could've experienced it too hehe
@@AlphaYellowthanks for preserving it for us
Oh my gosh. I stumbled upon your video randomly and had completely forgotten about this game. We had it on our gateway PC in the 90s. It’s amazing how much of it I can remember. Thanks for uploading.
Loved all the FMV games from the 90s.
Same here buddy, it was quite a nice concept for the time, too bad it's an abandoned genre.
Takes me back. I remember playing this in summer '91 at an arcade in Torquay.
Stranger! Stranger! Howdy stranger... etched into my mind since childhood
the "mad dog, you don't stand a chance" phrase is burned deep into my mind since I was a kid, such good memories... RDR2 is nothing compared to this piece of art!
Looks like a decent early shooter when the move cut scenes were all the rave. Never played this one. Nice shootin’ Tex!
When the bottle gets shot in the air, you can see the string holding it up lol.
This game is in a league of its own.
man this game was a quarter muncher back in the day at the arcades. I never seen anyone at the arcades beat it though unfortunately. I just beat this game on the 3DS and came to see the differences in quality. Light gun games where the craze in the 90's and I loved every moment of it.
Wow these graphics are much better than rdr 2
Good ol days...
Yep, I miss those times
graphics look so realistic
I played this in the arcade, very fun.
Awww yayyyy. My grandfather has this game.
It used to be really popular back in the day on arcades.
this was my first game on CD
You miss that one try another😂😂😂
The only arcade game I ever saw that attracted a whole CROWD of spectators when played. First game in the UK I saw at the then massive price of £1 per play (50p to continue!) Having a cheaper price to continue in the UK just didn't happen up to this point. Played it a lot, but always got stuck if the prospector said to shoot the pitchfork at the entrance to the mine. Even now I can't see it.
I always remember the Mad Dog machines in the arcades when I was younger. Mad Dog was usually £2 per game, or you could play something like turtles for 10p a game. And when you saw the odd person who DID risk a game of Mad Dog, everyone gathered round.... and they usually died in the first scene. For the cost of one game of Mad Dog, you could have 20 games of turtles..... and you probably would last longer in 1 game of turtles than 1 game of Mad Dog anyway...
Loved this game. Played it on our ibm ps/2 with a 40mb hard drive.
I remember playing this on an old computer some 30 years ago. I remember the graphics and frame rate definitely weren’t as outstanding as the arcade version.
Game was ahead of its time
massive tv for the game
I never could beat this game.
@xtrmst_012 have you ever tried?
@xtrmst_012 it was a video arcade game. You actually had to put quarters in. First real video simulation game. You had a standing console and a holster for a light gun. And had to stand there and do the fast draw. No mouse or keyboard.
I remember this being right at the front of the arcades in the early 90s and would get huge crowds when people played it. I hadn't seen anything like it before as it was just sprite games at the time and thought it was the future. It obviously wasn't the future though😂
I remember playing this game way back.
This game had a really dope concept
One of the first games I played. I distinctively remember that hay bail fall. Epic 2:52 😂 and this one 3:35 😆 his hat rolling off the roof
much better graphics than red dead
😅
you are not wrong lol
Played this on our old ass computer in the early ‘90s. I used to shoot at the spittoon to hear the ricochet
Same!
Does anyone remember another western live action shooter like this? All I can really recall is one of the levels beginning with the mayor or sheriff getting shot and one of the things when you lost these two guys with shovels would say something like; “you almost had him that time! Try again!”
Update; I think I found it. I think it’s The Last Bounty Hunter but I can’t find any death or game over scenes for it
@@Dragonrider1227yes , you can play all 3 on the Wii in the mad dog McRee gunslinger pack. It has mad dog 1 and 2 and the the last bounty hunter.
I was eight when I played it at the arcade
"try another one!"
im going to tell my kids this was red dead 2 lolllllllll
🤣🤣🤣
RTX on
I loved this as a kid and the gangster one!
Worked out about £5 a bullet in the arcade 🤣🤣
Huh that much?

I played this loads but never heard any of the dialogue because of all the other machines in the arcade
My uncle is the guy that plays Mad Dog McCree
You're joking I assume :D
@@AlphaYellow My mom even plays this game.
@@Haywood2 Oh lol, I thought he meant his uncle was the one who did McCree's role.
What's his name
Your uncle is my sugar baby boo. He is a sick man.
I can’t remember what the bonus was, but there was something about shooting those cow skulls on each screen. Oh the memories.
You would get an extra 6 bullets in your chamber when you shoot the cow skull.
This was a cool game to play on our gateway pc
Wow this is some high resolution game. Everything looks as if it was real
Lmao
I never did finish the arcade game. I remember boycotting for a while after that guy in the window got me. LOL
Haha
I pumped a lot of money into the game, and never made it to the end.
I know. Not fair. And this guy beat it in like 13 minuts 😂
Best graphics! So realistic!
Such realistic graphics!!!
Real actors 😜
For the time yes
@@MoritVincent wait, do games hire fake actors? Like no checks, former experience or nothing? Never knew that all my favorite characters weren't even actual actors! Props to rdr2 for getting such AMAZING completely random people with such breath taking performances without a drop of experience!
I remembered that the mission at 8:46 would piss me the fuck off because he would keep throwing the bottles until you hit them.
10:20 would also piss me off lol
So funny that this got a 3DS port and it's a good one too.
I really want to play this game now that I’m grown
I loved killing the prospector when he had dynamite strapped to him 😅😅😅
9:21
oh good old memories, where did you get this game? I tried to find it online but most of them are really low res
I wish doom looked like this.
Lmao
@2:26 how was you supposed to know somebody was up in that window, they didn't even show up.
You had to get shot over and over again, trial and error.
He got me a few times
Oh man this takes me back! I still have the original CD’s for this and part 2! Thanks for uploading this! Awesome quality too!
Lmao I always remember that scene at the bank where the guy getting pushed out was screaming like a girl. Maybe the sound guy played the wrong file for him? Lol
why wasent this the future of video games?
too cost
Too costly.
You can’t make changes.
Too static (it’s the same every time)
@@friedpicklezzz yes but i mean the time in 90s u had FMV cutsences instead of generated graphics or cinematics. Like jedi knight dark forces for example.
in the mid 1990s there was a full projection mad dog mccree at the biloxi, mississippi boomtown casino where the motion theater entrance was located. price was $1 to play and looked to be about 50 inch screen display. a fast draw showdown arcade cabinet complete with the gun dismount was priced 50 cents to play located near the exchange ticket redemption prize section after walking inside the entrance. i don't remember either of the arcade games having the frame skip issues when shooting enemies as seen in all the videos on youtube. maybe i'm just getting old and don't remember the gameplay that well.
Great memories skipping high school for the entire afternoon to go play this lol
Amazing Western shooting game, it's just too bad that a horrific fire destroyed the authentic Western town one year after this game was made, a terrible loss. RIP original Old Tucson Studios.
Didn’t realize they filmed this at old Tucson
@@Brentman56 They sure did, it was originally a replica of how Tucson, AZ looked in the 1860s and was used for a Western flick that was made there back in the 1930s. One of the worst aspects about the '91 OTS fire was that Hoss's famous hat from the popular '60s Western TV series "Bonanza" was in a museum there that was also destroyed, the hat gone forever. 😢
Before red dead revolver, there was this game
8:40 try another in back?
Awesome game in the arcade.
is this with RTX on?
Haha, super realistic graphics for the time, ikr lol
Oh thank God you're here with the keys, I gotta get out of here
You forgot to shoot the cow skulls and the spittoons 💥💥💥
My friend love this game.
Nice graphics
The mayor just left his daughter with the bad guy? What an asshole.
3:56 AND STAY OUT!
If Mad Dog was smart, he would have put one of his own men in the jail as a ringer for the sheriff, to get the jump on anyone trying to save the town.
Am I remembering right that you got an extra life for shooting the blue circle painted on the cow skulls?
Don't know, maybe
In the original game you would get double the ammo.
So instead of reloading after 7 shots (or whatever it is), you got 14 shots just for one clip then it went back to 7.
Brilliant game why wasnt it longer
Whoa.
Algorithm how did you know?!
This used to be my jam!
Wait why is the mouse pointer not the rear view of an 8 bit hand holding a gun?
I think because this pointer was in DOS version, that had a frame around the screen
@@drdancarmo wel...l I don't like it! Lmao that "hand" cursor was super cool as a kid.
@@thebenforever I played and loved the DOS version. I remember that the pointer was different for the holster and reloading
Never heard of this. Is it a video game? If yes how?
Yes it is! Different videos play depending on what happens, for example if you kill a guy the video continues, but if you die it cuts to a different one, or to a game over/death screen (I don't know how this game in particular works, but it's either one or the other).
Realistics graphics
Just like real life xD
12:34
You need a graphics card minimum requirement BS 6090
Should it be renamed to Mad Dog Cassidy?
This is like a Game combined with a movie
Yep, this game may not seem a big deal, but back in the early to mid 1990s, American Laser Games' booths were filled with everything you could think of. They were really popular back then, but these games have long been forgotten in history.
It could be
@@AlphaYellow Yeah, at the end of the day the gameplay of stuff like Mortal Kombat made a longer impression in arcades and in homes, whereas FMV games like Mad Dog McCree were mostly remembered as gimmicks.
@@AlphaYellow I have not forgotten...
Как ни странно я помню эту игру, но не помню где я мог в него играть, возможно компьютерном клубе
My name's not mccree kid.
8:29
8:44
could never kill mad dog wasent fast enough
If only I know where I can find the soundtrack of this game
Isn't it on TH-cam already?
@@AlphaYellow Nope
@@chrisketchum8042 Wtf
the sheriff is useless
my cousin had this game.
this game is irl but with low resolution
How very perceptive.
Mad Dog Cassidy :)
Useless sheriff lol
xD
Where are the Vince Gilligan scenes?
Now that reminds me of my childhood. Always played this with my dad :D There was another game in a similar style where you join the police force. Anybody knows the name by chance?
Yeah that's Crime Patrol, they made 2 or 3 games on the series I think
I was probably 8 when i played this in Lechmere 3DO demo
This is playing at the wrong speed, way too fast?
I don't think so
you didnt shoot the skulls 😭😭
Lmao, I didn't? I thought I actually did.
You lookin' at my skulls stranger?
@@PlasticCogLiquid Yeah, Philadelphia Collins, I'm lookin' at yer skulls!
Anyone know of a Star Wars game that's a live action shooter like this? Not a clue about the name
Maybe Star Wars: Rebel Assault II.
this is not the cabinet game but a later installment
