    This has been HUGE for me in my recovery process. Recently just started dealing with pelvic pressure and pudendal nerve pain working an office job and this has worked wonders! Being an ex college athlete, transitioning to the sedimentary lifestyle has been rough on my body due to posture issues and sitting for hours on end each day working on a monitor. Definitely appreciate you taking time to put this out there for individuals such as myself that don't have much free time to see a PT and I definitely will be using more of your videos going forward to keep my body in better shape. :)

I’ve done a lot of these exercises ( albeit not long enough) and it does help. I have pain all day, and while I sleep. Chiropractic didn’t help at all. Hi Dr. Melissa! I so appreciate your contribution to my yoga tightness. I hold my stomach and pelvic floor right constantly as I am learning! Wondering if when we are breathing out if we are to constrict like a kegel and release with the breath in? Thanks SO MUCH for any input you may have.❤️

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jen, so glad yo enjoyed this class! With the breathing on the inhale you are wanting to lengthen the pelvic floor muscles and on the exhale you are looking for a gentle lift (not trying to constrict). For this class the main focus is with the inhale and relaxing. It takes some time and practice to get the breathing down so much goes into it! Keep up the great work!

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great suggestions! I have several videos on our channel that help with pelvic floor relaxation that do not involve sitting or squatting like this video th-cam.com/video/rWbuftKLHu4/w-d-xo.html
      Also a good modification for the only sitting exercise in this vide at the end would be to lay down on your back and bring the soles of your feet together and work on breathing. So awesome that you are noticing what exercises and movements affect your body! Stay tuned more videos coming soon!

  • @atlas3650
    @atlas3650 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Melissa, this is a very helpful video. It has definitely helped me. I’ve now gone through it about 25x to try to absorb all your tips.
    However there’s one unclear part . When on your back, when you say tuck the tailbone underneath, what do you mean? Do you mean rotate the hips so that your low back arches more UP or more DOWN? Because tucking “under” could be under the body or under the legs.
    Any response appreciated so I can align the Breathing with the correct hip motion.
    Thank you. More videos on this topic would be appreciated.

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you have found this video helpful!
      Great question: When laying on your back think of the "tuck the tailbone" as lengthening the tailbone down towards bottom edge of your mat. We don't want a big arch in low back or jamming the low back into the mat.
      Thank you for your suggestion. I will add another PN video to our filming list. Have you seen this one we have that you might enjoy th-cam.com/video/rWbuftKLHu4/w-d-xo.html Keep up the good work!

    • @atlas3650
      @atlas3650 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. The other video is not as helpful , “legs up the wall” increases tension massively in my neck and back (same with legs up on a block). The value I found in your videos is the gentle breathing combined with releasing tension. So any position that increases tension defeats this goal.

    Hi Dr love the videos i was told i have Pudendal nerve after ruling out UTI and yeast about 2 months ago.Gyno said to take gabapentin and if i wanted to heal it faster go to pelvic floor therapy the meds are awful had to stop them was a zombie all day.I will go for therapy i needed for all to calm down.I get a very tight feeling and feels swollen with burning it feels like a combo of UTI and yeast but none is there and when i sit the wrong way a feel like i feel like i'm sitting on a small ball on one side.Right now i use heat and ice and take advil and i find that when i walk it feels better and i don't have any pain with sex.Doing the best. i can to put it out of my mind i am70 and very active and have always worked out.Thankyou.

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Going to a pelvic floor therapist can be so incredibly help especially for your exact needs. It's all about managing intra-abdominal pressure. When there is too much pressure this can cause leaks, pains, prolapse, digestive issues, and more. Breathing and posture is such a big part of managing the pressure. We have a few other videos on this topic on our channel you might enjoy. Keep up the good work!

    Thank you. I completed this today. I have been doing yoga for a while (not much more flexible). I have symptoms of PN, the issue I have doing these kind of exercises is for some time after my penis “vibrates” sorry to sound crazy but that’s the only way I can explain. It’s almost like a phone calling, on vibrate mode, it’s very strange. My doctor looks at me weirdly and just said do physio. I know you are female but are you familiar at all with this symptom? Thank you.

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone is different in what they can feel for symptoms. If someone notices an increase in symptoms after an exercise, especially when dealing with nerves, might have over done it. Nerves don't liked to be over stretched so this is where nerve glides moving in and out feeling light stretch is helpful. A pelvic floor physio can be very helpful.
