- Oddworld Lore: The Almighty Raisin is a video about Oddworld lore by pupbenny that takes a closer look at the story of The Almighty Raisin from Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee who acts as the guide for Abe and Munch as they embark on their journey to make Lulu the Glukkon rich and get him to Vykker's Labs.
Oddworld was created by Lorne Lanning who founded Oddworld Inhabitants which has produced many games, Including Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and Oddworld: Soulstorm. I find the Oddworld lore fascination and hope to bring the Oddworld universe to life by telling the story of it and it's characters, creatures and locations so that they can be explained and theorised about by delving into Oddworld theory and the lore of the universe of the Oddworld games!

I just realized The Almighty Raisin is a pun, it has spies everywhere and a raisin is a dried grape, Its The Grape Vine.
As I watch this, I'm left wondering what role the Almighty raisin will play in the new Oddworld Quintrilogy.
Hopefully a more expansive role, I guess!
Oh normally also in fantasy an elder tree is a very old tree that gained sentience before it turns into an ent and has true sentience....maby some also turn into dryads I am not certain about this.

i think one of the reasons the shaman and raisin are purple is that purple is the most common color to represent royalty

@@FlagadossSupreme Depends on location. But, back in Roman days, purple was hard to produce as it was made by crushing certain snails from the Muricadae family. I remember hearing that you'd have to pulp 10000 of them jut to dye a single cloak. The hue is know as Tyrian purple, purpura, back in the day.
The Almighty Raisin is mighty interesting! I didn't mention also that he's seen on the Hand Of Odd images too, so probably would've been in that game.
I get the feeling that “would likely have appeared in Hand of Odd” is getting to be this channel’s version of Chris McFeely’s “was offlined by a cosmically powered Starscream”.

Such a great video: you know, somehow Almighty Raisin reminds me of Odin from Norse mythology, since he's omniscient, omnipresent etc., maybe also because of the fact Odin has two crows who travel throughout the world and come back telling him all they have seen, that explains his immense knowledge, like Almighty Raisin knows everything thanks to the Ratz being all over Oddworld... that is cool :D

Hearing you describe how he used to have branches made me realize something: he's not a raisin, he's an onion. An onion is a part of a specific plant that lies beneath the earth and is stuffed with sustenance so that when the above-ground portion withers and dies in the winter, the plant itself will still survive to regrow next spring. almighty raisin is the onion of all of nature, enduring the winter of industrialization so that it may regrow when it passes.

I think the reason there are paramites in the area is because the paramite's home in paramonia is a tree,seeing how the the Raisin is basically a tree we can assume that the paramites are very protective of him because of this reason and the cave drawings are what the mudokans made to signify the importance of the Raisin to the paramites,that's probably the way he was discovered,in a cave surrounded by the sacred paramites and took it as a sign that the Raisin is of great importance to their sacred animal.

I've never played an Oddworld Game, except a little bit of Munch's Odysee as a kid, which I was to frightened of to actually play. But this man has made such quality lore videos that I think I'm going to buy New n Tasty

Maybe the paramite-raisin relation could indicate a connection with the mudokon mudomo tribe, said to be more entagled in spiritual matters than other mudokons, if i recall exodus lore correctly...still, my grasp of the oddworld timeline isn't that strong, so i could be wrong

I kinda felt like the almighty raisin was a bit redundant... He appeared suddenly in Munch, with no backstory or anything... I think the role would have been better taken by Big Face with how he ended up being portrayed.

Most of our atmosphere is actually thanks to ocean algae, not trees. Yes they do contribute, but like 80% of the work is done by algae covering enough space in the water to be seen from the International Space Station when they get real active
To be honest it's mostly because they been around for longer, as each year 40 percent of oxigen is made by algae I recall, while trees and land plants do the rest.
@@pauliusthemad3498 Actually plants and trees make up to about 20% of the created oxygen on the planet. I am also a bit off by not specifying what algae it is that does it. Specifically it is Phytoplankton during their blooming phase that both create most of the Earth's oxygen and can be seen from the ISS
@@liamer88 Yes, and that is what I am referring to, they aren't effective enough nowdays to do it and land plants still account for a lot of oxigen production, as change in climate is slowing down production in ocean systems.
Interesting enough, there is a study looking into trees being the reason for rainfall inland. Potentially being the reason for why the Sahara doesn't have any rainfall besides the coast and how China gets its rainfall from Russian forests. I'd recommend looking up Anton Petrov for more info on the study.

We only see the Raisin in the Cutscenes,I wonder what he would look like in game though,maybe when they make Munch's Exodus they might put him in game.

the munch's oddysee footage is very different from usual, what modifications did you make aside from replacing the mudokons and making the colours more vibranced
Didn't change the colours, but I brightened it up (which I guess changed the colours....) Apart form that, I think the game was pretty much unaltered aside from the Mudokons being different (as well as Abe's skin being bluer). Also I accidentally removed the fur from the Fuzzles and it makes them look like they've been tested on, which ironically works considering they're in Vykker's Labs.

Speaking of Mudokon Shamans, please explain the mudokons that gives Abe Healing Rings in Abes Exoddus. I mean the ones in the brewery, the one that you dont seem to be able to rescue. Why do they look like the other mudokon friends but yet they're special?

It's not impossible, but I find it extremely unlikely given their ancient past.

okay the mighty raisin must have known munch was gonna save the fuzzels cause depending on which eneding you get the shaman warns you if you dont save any so the raisin must have wanted the fuzzles the saved cause the shaman wouldnt warn you about the qUARMA for nothhing
