Lauryn Hill is a triple threat. She can sing, act and rap. I personally think she’s the best female rapper. Check out her album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Every song is 🔥🔥🔥
seriously -- that Lauryn Hill album is one of the BEST ALBUMS of all time -- in ANY music genre!! Her Fugees bandmate Wyclef Jean's Carnivale album is fantastic too.
Nailed it with shes a threat.
EVERY song on that album is unskippable.. how many albums can you say that about?!
She's my favorite female rapper, too.
He’s not allowed to. She said she doesn’t want white oriole listening to her music. #Racist.
I've never heard Lauryn Hill sing before. Now I know what the hype is all about, her voice is stunning.
First time I heard this I was floored. Loved Robertas version and she did it justice.
You can see Lauryn sing on the movie Sister Act 2 with Whoopi Goldberg, before her time with the Fugees
How is it possible that You missed that for three decades? You never heard her on the radio? Are you really that young?
Always show love when somebody reacts to the Fugees "Killing them Softly".......Roberta is my cousin and I love seeing her song get love!
The Fugees The Score is one of the greatest albums of all time.
sure is!!! I just played it for a friend who never heard the Fugees before, he was blown away! :)
The song in itself is just amazing. They did a great job with the remake. The opening mirrors Roberta Flack. Can't relate to modern twist but her voice is beautiful.
Hope one day you react to The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face...very special
You can hear all three members of the Fugees - Lauryn, Wyclef, and Pras - on their track "Ready or Not". The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is easily one of my favourite albums of all time. Absolutely legendary from the first beat of the first song all the way to the last note of the hidden track (Tell Him). Even the skits between the songs are wonderful. Everything is Everything is easily the most popular song of her solo career, but my heart will always always belong to Doo Wop (That Thing) "don't be a hard rock, when you really are a gem".
Ready or Not is a VIBE!! One of my favs on that album!😃highly second this recommendation!!🎶❤✌
Ready or not one of the most insane expensive videos ever made. I think it's number 3 or 4 behind Micheal Jackson guns n roses etc.
I remember noticing Lauren Hill’s “it factor” 1st on As The World Turns in the 1990s…she had this presence. Then she popped up in Sister Act sequel, then she was on the radio! This lady is special
Her voice is unmatched. Just beautiful
The multi-talented Ms. Lauryn Hill., was a part of the Fugees (short for Refugees). One of the all-time greats. She went on to a very successful solo career. She is right up there with the likes of Whitney, Mary J. Blige. She can do it all. Sing, rap, act and write music. She was in Sister Act 2. Her solo album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill", she won several Grammy's including Record of the Year at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Recommend listening to all of the Fugees before heading into Lauryn's solo material.
Wyclef Jean is awesome. His album The Ecleftic: 2 Sides II a Book is awesome featuring vocals with Kenny Rogers, The Rock, Mary J Blige & Earth Wind & Fire.
Truly one of the great covers of all time - right up there with Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah and Johnny Cash's Hurt for me ;) Their No Woman, No Cry is another all timer as well.
You have to hear this in a car with a good stereo system, I grew up hearing this quite often lot of fun memories, also Ginuwine pony was being aired all the time same time period so there was a lot of bangers, should check it out if you haven't already heard it
This is a really cool cover. I don’t think it’s possible not to groove to it! But Roberta Flack’s will always be my absolute favorite.
i saw them perform live in Brussels in the 90's . she was at that time the best female singer around
Dam Salvo, i didn't think you would react to hip hop. Cool man. This entire album is fire 🔥
The entire album is🔥!
Indeed it is. I bought it when it was first released in '96, still an absolute banger nearly 30 years later. Every song is fantastic.
I think one of the reasons for this songs success is that back then we ALL knew the Roberta Flack version…and this update was close enough that there was instant recognition. No need to lean the lyrics, we already knew them. It’s a great version and Lauren Hill is amazing.
This is my favorite version of this song. The original is the one I grew up on listening with my mom. This one, though .. ❤❤
I’m with you. This is the version that touches my everything.
more Fugees please! 'Ready Or Not' 'No Woman, no Cry' or 'Fugee-la' :)
They also had one of the most expensive videos ever made. The score was one of the best albums ever made.
Was absolutely addicted to this song and still am in a way. Love Lauryn Hill. ❤
Love Lauryn !! She equals the original.
Lauryn in “Sister Act “ with Whoopie Goldberg is worth watching
Don't apologize for the intro! I love that you do your research!
☝time was interjected in to every conversation lol ❤ This sing was so huge......for good reason. The Fugees did go on to therir own projects. The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill is an album to hear in its entirety. Do Wop (That Thing) was a big song from Lauryn's record but they are all so good.
I remember when this song came out, we all had The Fugees CD!!!
Lauryn has a vocal of note!
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hil is a MUST Album Reaction
Great cover
Great reaction. Thanks for sharing.
This transports me back to a smokeout party in the 90's...
You might know Lauryn from the movie
Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993) - she played the part of Rita Watson and featured her singing.
It’s not a Fugees track, but I really enjoy Wyclef’s work with Shakira on Hips Don’t Lie. You might like it!
Sucked with Shakira Hips Dont Lie is a BANGER!! Love the video as.much as the song!!!Shakers is smoking hot!lol🎶❤✌
Lauryn Hill has always been a conundrum to talk about for me. She had everything. Sing, rap, act and was strikingly beautiful. She wasn't a dancer but so what. She did all the other things at a high level. Her first solo album is one of the greatest albums of all time. She practically swept the awards that year. She should've been one of the greatest artists period. That's a funny statement after noting the success she had and if it was just about the art, I'm sure she would've been just that. It was all these other life factors that got in the way of that. Her challenges have been documented and known and talked about at nauseam so I won't speak on them. I just sometimes wonder how big she would've gotten under different circumstances.
That first Fugees album is one of the greatwst hip hop albums of all time as well. Wclef had a decent solo career and was big in the producing area. Pras also had a couple of solo hits.
And I think you’re an amazing guy you got class
'Lauryn Hill - LOST ONES' an icon of iconic songs
1st song (Fugee's version, specifically) that i made it a point to learn & remember every word to. i MIGHT have been 10 yrs. old.... probably year or 2 younger 🤷🏻♀️ i was COMMITTED & so rhat goes without saying, i listened to it religiously!
STILL slaps just as hard as the 1st time i EVER heard
(and if the version DOESN'T gave the "1 time, 1 time - 2 time, 2 time" ad lib --- throw that garbage in the trash)
If you really haven't heard any Lauryn Hill songs you should definitely check out her single "X-Factor". That's at the very least because her entire "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill album" is perfect from front to back, It really is a damn near perfect album.
Nice to expand influence.
It's smooth in deed. It's good!
You should listen to the Lauryn Hill miseducation album every song is a hit
We ❤you Lauryn Hill
#LH 🔥 ❤
Is that what a drum machine sounds like?
I don’t t know, but if it is I don’t like it.
Luther Vandross also performed this song.
Could you please react to I'm every Woman, originally sung by Chaka Khan and then 14 years later by Whitney Houston. Many thanks
Love Chaka Khan. Love that song!
Lauryn Hill is straight fire 🔥🔥🔥
Please react to Ready or Not by The Fugees.
Great reaction!
ok, so this is a month old now and I just checked your chanel, you still haven't checked out any more Fugees or Lauryn Hill.
I suggest "Nappy Heads" or "Fu-gee-La". Other Fugees hits were "Ready or Not" or "Vocab". Or you go straight into her solo album and check out "Everything is Everything" or "Doo-Wop" for a good mixture of singing and rapping or "Ex-Factor" for a straight RnB balad. All three were singles, had videos and were massive successes.
Check out Lauryn's album of the year. " Miseducation of Lauyn Hill" ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
I miss The Fugees.
Lauryn Hill would also release one of the best hip hop/r&b albums of the 1990s. "The Misseducation Of Lauryn Hill"
Al B. Sure also made a version of this song.
Luther Vandross also has a version.
Luther Vandross has a version
I love Zara larssons live version of this song
you have to doo Lauren Hill's Doo Wop video...have to...and if you just cant...then her duet with Bob Marley...turn your lights down low
Roberta Flack did it first in 1973. August 1st.
lori lieberman wrote the song
Roberta Flack is an ace, but Lauryn and the Fuggies did give a 💥 version.
Jean, pronounced John.
I like this version but prefer Roberta Flak's original though. Thanks Salvo for yet another great reaction.
Top cover apart from 1 time, 2 time🤣
Hips don't lie by Shakira has more Wycliffe jean.
Yep. Beautiful, seductive voice imo.
Could you react to Turn Your Lights Down Low by Lauryn Hill and Bob Marley? 😊
SalvoG my name is van I grew up in the 60s. 70s and 80s I have a request for you to listen to three of my favorite bands and I will tell you the songs that you should listen to Depeche Mode is one of them and the song is behind the wheel . The second group would be sisters of Mercy and the song would be this corrosion. And Bob Seger and the silver bullet band and the song would be still the same.
There are tons of other versions/ remakes of this song. But the only one worth listening to is the Anne Murray version. Once you heard Roberta, Lauren and Anne sing it, none or the others are worth the wax they are pressed in.
Good cover but I still like the Roberta Flack version the best!
I love Lauren Hill's cover better than all of them.
Yeah kind of a weird twist. Not anywhere near as good as the original Roberta Flack version!
agree, I like Roberta's version better too!
It’s so good that we don’t have to choose; we can enjoy them both.
@@thundernelsExactly!!!
No the original is the one for me
This is probably the worst track on the album The Score... and I love this track. Do the whole album. You will NOT regret it. (For the record, I love both this and Roberta's original.)
this would have been a great cover in not for that muppet that keeps saying "one time"
F.Y.I.
Roberta Flack,
Cover this song also.
Original all day. This does not compare (for me).
Meh, the original by Roberta Flack is so much better
You’re so unique and different
I don't like this kind of easy-go creation. The original is 10000000000 times better than this.
The original is best. It is by Roberta Flack.
liar, ofc you hear this before
Honestly, if you’re going to listen to killing me, softly, you should be listening to Roberta Flack, not the Fugees. This version doesn’t hold a candle to Roberta’s version.
I explain in the opening how much I love that version, which I listened to not to long ago on here.
This is an awful version!!
Lauryn hill is awesome and off the chain.
