Training on site a couple weeks or months is only good for short term objectives. Send students to Chinese college to learn railway, transportation, and technology. China is now the heaven for infrastructure engineers.

KR, this is NOT technology transfer. It is being taught how to use China's railway technology. Look at China's technology transfer with Siemens, Alstom, Bombardier, etc., to understand how to write an agreement that truly results in technology transfer!!!

look, u need highly educated student to receive higher tech.
china is fully capable to copy siemens tech, do u think Kenya can fully transfer china technology? this is the 1st step to establish ur own railroad system.

So the technology transfer has ensured the rolling stock manufacturing in Kenya by Kenyans along with engine manufacturing done locally! Its again and again talking about construction, operation and maintenance there was no talk about Design! So where is the tech transfer? I hope the reliability of the equipments doesn't follow the classic Chinese reliability curve.

STEP 1 is copy, STEP 2 is manufacture, STEP 3 is design. You cannot go to step 3 without STEP 1 & 2.
