    Hey Kelly! I have enjoyed your channel. I know people say your videos are "boring" but it is the reality when you are a flight attendant.
    I worked as a flight attendant for AA in 2022. I started training in January and resigned in August right before my probationary period 😣
    The life of a flight attendant is hard! Especially if you are married and commuting.
    I have a video idea for you. I think it would be interesting if you "interview" a flight attendant that has been doing it for 30+ years, someone who just started and maybe someone who resigned.
    I think it would give a better idea to people who want to go and be a flight attendant.

    Omg! Yes I was a flight attendant years ago and a crew member always stood at the door with it open while we did the room check for added safety measures, and it was always followed regardless of what time it was! Take care my friend! ❤️

    thank you for this video! if I ever actually made videos on TH-cam, it would be to talk about things like this because of the reactions I get from passengers about safety things (mostly seatbelts and crossbody bags). I hope you're having a wonderful day, Miss Kelly!

    Any time I fly, I'll watch the passengers totally disregard y'all's safety demonstration. There needs to be a quick quiz to see if they can answer correctly.
    Sorry to hear about your FA co-worker. Saw that on another channel. People made crude comments, about how she was found. Sad.
    Love the blooper clip 🤣 Glad you have a great sense of humor.

    Thank you for doing this video from a retired FA. I flew for 18 years only had 3 evacs in that time. So true passengers grab their items from the overhead bins etc. Thank you again!!. Fly safe.

    New follower. My niece is looking into becoming a flight attendant, so I'm having fun learning about her new job. What exactly is included in a "murder check"? I'd like to know so I can let my niece know to help keep her safe.

    So here is a safety question for you that I've always wondered. People in the exit row always need to agree to help in an emergency. What exactly would their job be during an emergency?

  • @worldsokayestflightattendant
    @worldsokayestflightattendant ปีที่แล้ว

    Yea it's funny how people start accusing lol.
    For us, we have 4 flight attendants
    1 and 3 up front 2 and 4 in back.
    4 stands at exits rows helps with bags, briefs...
    3 kinda watches, bulkhead area up front... helps with bags...
    2 is kinda a mirror image of 1, minus a few responsibilities...
    For us, we work with a lot of the same people, and you get everyone's patterns down and where they like to work 😂.
    I was sorry to hear about that flight attendant that was a shock...
    When I ask paxs to please put the tray tables up, they look at me like I'm crazy...
    They don't realize it's FAA related.
    Alot of times I get " well nobody told me that coming up here " like taking the baby out of the harness, or putting a bag in the OHB when they are sitting in the bulkhead area 😆🤔
    And one time I was like well I'm sorry but it's a fAA regulation, and yes if a FAA official is onboard we could lose our wings. Paxs have no idea.
    One suggestion is, yall outta do a group adventure out here in Knoxville, with some of your followers, gatlinburg is fun, pigeon forge is fun, and thats one I could actually go on...
    Being a reserve its hard to plan trips. But I live here in Knoxville :) 😊
    Great vlog

    Sorry to bother you again but I read somewhere that the airlines making the seats more narrow and lessening the legroom actually hinders the evacuation process and causes health problems to passengers.

    What do you prefer, Airbus or Boeing? I prefer the A321 (particularly the T) and the 737s have become extremely uncomfortable since their interior retrofits.

    • @theawkwardflightattendant

    Hi, Thank you for this video. Every second is important in case of an emergency. I understand that. What i dont understand is that they say that there are special life vests for children but they never give them or put them under the seat where my child sits (We fly from Europe to Asia so we fly over the oceans...). So why is that? In case of an emergency will there be really enough time to find every seat with children on the plane to give them the small life vests?
    At what age / height can children wear a life vest for adults?
    Love from Germany. :)

    • @theawkwardflightattendant
      @theawkwardflightattendant  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The amount of infants on any given flight is so low that putting those lifevests at every seat would add too much weight and take up too much space. I'd say a child over 3 should be in a regular lifevest. If the plane is going to land in the water, you'll know ahead of time and will be able to get one of those

    When you return to your room after going out, do you do a murder check then? I have a friend who was sexually assaulted in her room, the front desk clerk said her room number out loud when she gave her key and a bad man found her.

  • @julieanncheshire9960

    Apparently another reason not to take anything with you is that your personal item could puncture a slide or cause injury on the way down. I carry medication that I need to stay alive in my personal item bag--highly regulated medication that is difficult to replace, so if I am ever in this situation it will be a bit of a conundrum...unlikely, thank goodness!

    Love your videos! I’ve always wondered - are flight attendants subjected to TSA carry-on guidelines like the rest of us when going through security or is TSA more lenient in what you can pack?

    • @zgaviation6481
      @zgaviation6481 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crewmembers have a special line to go through at most US airports. If they are in uniform, they can carry large liquids (water/toiletries,etc), as well as drinks bought pre-security through security.

  • @abkeener81
    @abkeener81 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'll definitely do that murderer check even though I'm a guy. Peace of mind is priceless though. I'm Andrew. .
    I have a question. As it relates to personal item bags ... what if a passenger (I'm asking for myself) has meds they need daily in that bag? In my case ... I have bipolar and high cholesterol. I take the generics for tegretol and geodon for my bipolar. And the generic for zocor for my cholesterol issue. Those are meds I need. I think I remember learning that in the case of an evacuation we must leave everything. But I need my meds to function. What about in that case?

    • @theawkwardflightattendant
      @theawkwardflightattendant  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would worry about the immediate danger of evacuating the aircraft. I'm sure your doctor would grant you an emergency refill because you left your bag on a burning airplane filled with thousands of gallons of jet fuel. Trying to get your bag puts not only your life in immediate danger, but the lives of other passengers and your crew.

    The flight attendant death in Philadelphia is currently classified as a "suspicious death" not a homicide.

    Kelly, such good common sense. But we all know how some of the jerks are. so, tell me, when hutch a clod just ignores your😂😂 repeated pleas to stow the bag underneath the seat in front, what do you do to protect us and the clod from his/her own monumental stupidity? Or is that something not allowed to be revealed by law? Herman

    • @theawkwardflightattendant

    I'm curious as to why children under two are allowed to be carried unrestrained on laps. From a safety perspective, it would seem in a crash that a 30 pound toddler is just as dangerous as a flying laptop, not to mention the risk to the child.

    Airlines lose or damage around 30 wheelchairs a day, it's one of the biggest fears any disabled person has about travelling. Wheelchairs are EXTREMELY expensive and often times that one wheelchair is the only wheelchair that person can get, and if it's damaged or lost they are SCREWED. Is there anything that is going to be done about that?
