That was enjoyable , as Terry said dedication , look forward to one catching up on the videos of yours that I haven’t seen , and then keeping up with them as you shoot them , I liked what you said about keeping the trot in a straight line , the longer the rod the better , what you said will help a lot of the fellas that don’t know , so well done for telling them Ian , look forward to more of your vids in the future …👍🏻
Hi Ian,Charlie told me you had a channel, and now I've found it !!!Really enjoyed spending spending more time than I realised watching.Definitely made me want to get out on the bank. All the best.Harry.

Dedication! at nearly 70 I get out on the rivers whenever possible Roach fishing, when not in lockdown traveling to Britford for a days fishing or Winkton from Hertfordshire. Great video’s look forward to watching them, keep em coming and good fishing🎣
@@ipfishing1466 was at Winkton before Christmas, had Roach to 1lb 8oz and a few over a pound, all caught at dusk. Single maggot on an 18 Drennan silver fish hook. Been down a few times since late September managed to catch Roach every trip, best was 1lb 12oz, But in the past have had Roach to 2lb 12oz. Hope to get down there before season ends for a few days👍🎣
Your nuts mate going out in those conditions. 😂 Seriously though another great vid and full credit to you for going out and making top class videos especially in those conditions. Keep em coming and hope to see you soon when this sh#t calms down.
Hi Ian I’ve now joined cps and am looking forward to float fishing the stour for the roach and chub. I’m prepared to walk and find some likely looking swims and with over fifty years experience including match fishing at a high level back in the day hopefully I should be okay . I don’t expect you to tell me your swims mate but for a start would you recommend I go to langham first or would somewhere else be better as starting point . I appreciate any advice and look forward to meeting you on the river.thanks John
@@ipfishing1466 Hi Ian had couple goes around langham and had few chub and one nice dace but no roach so far apart from small ones I’m going to try black barn stretch this week looks nice their not quite so chubby looking as langham . Any thoughts on roach fishing around the length down to wards Stratford mill..? Thanks John
Hi mate the jacket is the Preston DF but you can’t get that jacket anymore but now I use the Preston DF 30 which is even better, as for fishing with bread I usually give a swim around an hour but if I know there are bigger roach in the swim I will always come back to the swim later on in the day last thing and give it another go,hope this helps.
@@ipfishing1466 Thank you for the reply.......... no Grayling fishing down Hampshire for me this year glad I got yours and Mark Wintle’s video’s to watch
Great videos Ian. I’m new to fishing the Suffolk Stour this season so they’ve really helped inspire my trips. Do you do any guiding sessions on the river or any thoughts on doing some in the future?
Hi Keith glad u like the videos I don’t do guiding but if you are fishing the Stour feel free to message me and if I’m free I’m always willing to show a few locations to fish and if I can put you right on a few things then I am more than happy to do so.
@@ipfishing1466 Hi Ian I’ve had couple of goes in langham area and had few chub up to about 2 pounds but no roach . A couple of anglers I spoke to down there told me it tends to be better for roach around black barn area so I’m going to try there this week .Wondered if you had any thoughts on that thanks John
Another nice video mate do you mainly use wetted liquidised bread as grounbait . Does maggot and ground bait maybe like gross gardons work or do you get more small fish .
Glad you enjoyed the video I do tend to use mainly liquidised bread slightly dampened, maggot and ground bait will still catch good fish though it’s all on the day and what fish are about

What waterproof coat are you wearing? Also how long do you give a swim on bread if no bites are coming?

Your vids are brilliant especially now there is a lockdown, and there are no rivers in reasonable range to where I am in Devon.
Glad you like the videos and its a shame you can't get out onto the banks.

Great video chief. When using bread as the hook bait, do you use flake or punched? What size?
I use both flake and punch but mainly flake on a size 14 but when bites are hard to come by I will go down to 16 or 18 on the punch.
What hook do you use when fishing bread flake? And is it eyed or spade end?
I use the kamasan B560 which is a barbed spade end swept and is absolutely brilliant for bread when roach fishing.

Excellent Roach fishing.
How did you feed the swim?
Thanks mate as for feeding I just put small balls of liquidised bread every 5 trots or so but usually if I’m catching regular I will ease up
Really enjoy your videos Ian, wot pattern hook do you use,?
Glad you enjoyed the videos as for hooks I use Kamasan B560 hooks for most of my fishing they just never let me down.
