I think you should’ve gone into more detail on your set up for number four float didn’t really explain what shot you actually had on the float there was no detail of what hook size you were using all the videos I’ve watched on river fishing. The anger always goes through explaining the full set up of is armoury. no disrespect, but I found it quite boring but some nice fish
Sorry to here that I suggest that you stick with the videos which explain it better to you, although I can guarantee you 100% that they are not telling you everything just as I won’t give away my secrets that have been handed down to me 🎣
Mr Hemp 😂 why do you need all of the info on set up and rigs with a name like Mr Hemp? Why should Ip fishing give away he’s secrets and rigs?
hope to bump into you at Burgate over the winter. I am a Salisbury Bailiff and i walked Burgate 2 days ago. Pushing a bit at present. Take care Brian
A great upload, not used hemp as a hook bait before how do you present the hemp on the hook,
Hello Ian, welcome back.
Enjoyed watching the video what was the set up you used hook size line size how did you present the hemp I've never fished with hemp would like to have a try 😊 👍🏻
Stick float, size 16 hook, main line 0.14 hook length 0.10 number 8s spread out Down to the hook
@@ipfishing1466 how many hemp you fish on hook 👍🏻
Just 1 single grain of hemp trotting
Which float rod is that please?
@@fizzyfozbuzz874 The rod was a Hardy 12ft spliced tip
Noticed you have made your Abu closed face reel redundant , shame . Great filming and look forward to more roach action
Hi Ian great to see you back on the bank. The Suffolk Stour looks such a beautiful venue with plenty of Roach. Cracking video now look forward to the next one
Hi Ian. I noticed that you didn't need to refresh your hook bait. Was the hemp tied on ... which I think is how Bob Nudd prefers it.
Another top upload Ian, think you should whip up a short 8ft blank, for all your intimate swims.👍
Nice vid, what hook do you use for hemp and how do you hook it?
Superb video mate , best time of the season to be on the seed baits , I love my hemp fishing as you know , thanks for doing the vid mate , talk soon 🎣👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks, Ian. Good to see you hemp fishing!
Looking forward to the next video
Simmering my hemp now for tomorrow on the Suffolk Stour..fingers crossed
Near Clare??
No not Clare
Is this club water or free
Club water
the fish of a lifetime
J could be wrong but shouldn't the Drennan logo be on the top of the blank?
No It was on the bottom although I think some of them did have the logo on top👍
@@ipfishing1466 my IM8 waggles and stick float rod have it on top, inderneth is the line rating
@@steveduffy1800 really strange as I have those rods and they are the opposite
@@ipfishing1466 every Drennan rod I've owned has had the logo on the top, and I've had loads. Can't see why they would put the line ratings on top.
Top or bottom doesn’t really matter as the customer wanted it at the bottom anyway. It’s possible the rod had been stripped down and re guided before and that’s why it was on the bottom
Great video Ian! What blank is it? A FreeSpirit one?
No this was an Evoke blank I want to start building on free spirit and Harrison’s but I need to get them cheap enough to make profit but it’s something I’m working towards
@@ipfishing1466 yeah, they're a bit costly, but best always is
Absolutely fascinating, love it!!
Well done ian love watching and learning
Really appreciate that mark
Lovely work Ian , I remember that rod from way back , that red when varnished is just like Normark red (as I call it) look forward to seeing the rod finished , cheers mate …👍🏻
Beautiful rod. I love the green whipping. My dad made bamboo roach poles.
Beautiful colour isn’t it,I bet the roach poles were really good 👍
@@ipfishing1466 Would you like to see pictures?
Would love to

What a fantastic video, i was captivated throughout, great craftsmanship. 👍
Quality work ian well done
Cheers mate
Great work, is the blank also covered with the epoxy finish?
No it’s not it’s a nice scratch proof Matt finish
Cheers
Nice work Ian , makes me want to start rod building again , back in the 70s would of been the last time I built a rod ,without all the superb kit you have , I know the main bit of kit was £750 quid but worth every penny ,look forward to next video my friend 👍🏻
Cheers Nobby hope to see you this season
Likewise mate , my mate Tony is down there from Sunday , I hope to go around July /august time and again a bit bit later 🤞🏻
@@nobbyclarke6051 let me know when your there and if i'm down I will give you a hand with your gear.

Great video Ian
Me to😂
Nice rod hope you get a PB on it
Interesting video, and I'm looking forward to watching the next instalment, years ago I used to build my own rods for bass fishing I built them myself because at the time which was some 40 years ago I couldn't get rods at the length I wanted to be able to fish comfortably from my small boat.
Love the gold and green whipping, looks really classy. Great workmanship, well done.
Yes I love it will look really good when I put the epoxy on it👍
Two minutes in and finally learned what a flat spot actually is. I always thought it was something to do with the action of the blank but never heard it explained like that (line touching the blank) and I've watched countless flagship rod release videos. Thanks for the explanation mate. Would love to see one from you showing actions. Fast, parabolic, thru etc and also how tip sections affect the rod.
I will be following the rest of this for sure. Already a subscriber but I've sent this to my dad who will love this. He still has his hand built rods from 40/50 years ago I was always fascinated how it was done so this is really interesting to me. You will hit 3k in no time mate.
Thanks mate really pleased you enjoyed it and I hope your dad enjoys to it’s something different for the channel👍
Really pleased you enjoyed and hope your dad does to, it’s something different for the channel 👍
Great video. 😊
Thanks for sharing this mate. You look like a man who is organised and methodical. Very impressive amount of work your doing there mate. Well done on your efforts
Very interesting great to watch
Very Impressive stuff
Ian could you tell me what blank you are using please.
This blank is an Evoke
The rod you showed me at Britford was a cracker , really nice work Ian good luck with it all mate …👏🏻👏🏻
Enjoyable video Ian, looking forward to the next installment. It would be nice to hear some good comments from other professional rod builders.
Really enjoy informative content like this Ian, even if I’ll probably never get around to making a rod myself though! Looking forward to the next video
Thanks buddy I hope to upload next video tomorrow 👍
Absolutely marvellous to watch you making a beautiful rod. Thank you for taking the time to make this video clip. Pete
No problem buddy there’s more to come 👍
Great insight into hand made rods. Nice workshop to. Looking forward to the next video Ian 😊
