Yeah it honestly works a lot better for us. There's nothing like a hot outdoor shower. It's also important for us to not have the interior so cramped because its our work space as well as living space
Lord JDM is the best! These Toyota coasters and damn fine machines so pretty love what y'all done. If I was a millionaire, I'd never have an hour away from projects like this!
Well done Luke and Jess. It was nice to see a fresh and young approach to a Coaster conversion, compare to the majority out there on the road. It does look classic and functional at the same time... Being a full time nomad, I do enjoy when I see Australians doing exquisite conversion such as this one... Love it...
I think this is the best conversion i have ever seen. The Arch on the doorway and the drawers beneath the bed are so cool. It just seems like everything is super high end and so well made.
I’ve probably watched this video a dozen times. One thing that got my attention was the “no more gaps.” I wasted so much money on that stuff. My airstream has around a 1000 rivets. One of my jobs was putting a dab of the stuff on every rivet and then a beading of the stuff on the inside of the frame. I found out later that the stuff ain’t waterproof. Now I have the crappy job of scraping it all off and replace it with sikaflex, which is the only thing you should use with anything that moves. I love your layout. The only thing I’d add is an arch doorway at the cab to separate the engine room from the living area. What a life. Happy safe travels…
Hey that’s awesome and thank you for watching. Yeah the no more gaps doesn’t like the constant moving and twisting of the bus. The extra archway would only work if we didn’t have the second row of seats but it felt separate enough when we were in the living area. Cheers
I constantly get blown away by the exceptional builds people create when converting vans or buses. Yours is another wonderfully designed conversion with great taste and attention to detail. Well done ... your bus build is spectacular. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me and plenty of others too, no doubt. Nice to see Australasian alternatives to the ubiquitous, but unavailable here in NZ, typically super-cheap smorgasbord of “decommissioned “ yellow school buses all those lucky Americans have access to ... and that we drool over ... !
Thank you so much! It's crazy what you can do in a small space. 😁 When we were looking for our coaster we specifically went for a gen 2 model as they have a bit more of a retro look to them, the gen 1 models are the best though!
Really nice looking vehicle. American busses are kind of boring looking. To each his own but I would definitely have had an indoor bathroom. I think I would have sacrificed the closet space for s bathroom. But it is beautiful. You did a great job! Vaya con Dios!
Thank you! We have had a few different set ups over the years, our first having a full ensuite and we found that as nice as it was it wasn't a necessity for us!
@@engelinaschuurmans7648 I wish I could say no bathroom myself. Definitely would like the closet space. But we can’t always have things the way we want. To loo or not to loo, that is the question. Oops! The Bard might not appreciate that!
THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT WHEN I SAY I WANT TO RENOVATE A BUS! Everything i'be been seeing hasn't been matching my vision and I need a visual lol Thank you for having Style lol.
I have spent about 3 years researching vanlife, builds, layouts, van types and sizes, bloggers and have decided on a Coaster as our bus of choice. We want to make it a 4 x 4. Your conversions is BY FAR the best yet.
New to the underworld of ToyotaCoasters; gunna flick my caravan n researching these orsum homes on wheels so seen quite a few vids now but urs is bloody outstanding! Luv the arch to bedroom separated n outside shower. Great stuff n all the best for the future 🤗
Even though I’ve been lucky enough to see this in person, I loved the tour! It’s saaaaa gorgeous. Hope I bump into you guys again on the road. And well done on the budget!!
Most gorgeous Buss ever!! The shower outside is great! But I did not see a toilet, neither chemical nor nautical type... I cant imagine living without one!! Thnak's for showing us your home
Hey Luke and Jess, the bus looks great! well done, we were watching the build to do the same, although we decided to downsize to a vintage hiace - hopefully see you on the road when we're ready to travel.
Fantastic conversation! Love the details and the aesthetics. Thanks for sharing and I’ve definitely got some ideas from you guys in terms of space planning.
New sub, can’t believe my luck what a great find.absolutely love the bus ,you have great taste.I’ll now binge watch the other clips and hang for the next.👍❤️🇦🇺😳
I absolutely ADORE your bedroom space and the archway! I’m currently looking at purchasing a 1989 coaster and would love to do something like this for the bedroom area!
Love the set up guys! Would love some info on how you did your lounge and maybe a video on how you go from table to lounge. Planning on doing something like this in my build ☺️
I’m guessing you guys live in the coaster full time. Seriously loving the arch. It’s the first one that I’ve seen thus far. It’s a definite must in my build. I live in Perth and i reckon Toyota’s are the way to go. Thanks for the awesome tour. Stay safe on the roads… 🍃☮️🍃
your shower is nice for when weather is warmer but what do you do for showers in winter? I woud have thought in a bus that size a shower and toilet would be have a priority -
We're lucky that we generally chase the sunshine so we don't deal with too much cold weather! And if we we're somewhere that was cold we could always go find a hot shower elsewhere :)
Great tour and build! You both seem like a really lovely couple as well. One question - what is the interior standing height also with all the windows how is the installation for either cold or hot weather? 😊 Edit; I ask because I’m thinking of converting a Coaster and am based in Canberra so it gets chilly 🥶 Edit 2; I’m 6’0 foot so want to know if I can stand up inside without crouching Edit 3; would you be offended if I simply copy your design 🤷🏽♀️
That little arch blocking off the bedroom is beautiful but.... what are you going to do if you have this build long enough you have to replace the mattress?
We have taken the mattress out before, we just sandwich it in half and it can slide out! It came rolled up in a box so its easily flexible which is good :)
Can you plz tell us more about the AC vent at 16:16, I've seen them throughout the van, the AC or Heating system that you guys are using... btw NICE built!! LOVED IT
Our bus has the aircon unit in our bedroom area, so when we drive we could still have the air flowing into the main section of the bus we built the roof out slightly and added the vents. No special A/C but normal car/bus aircon so it only works while driving or if we run the bus :)
Ahhh we forgot the toilet damn it, we have it hidden under our seating area. It’s just one of the portable ones and we only use it when we’re desperate
Hi guys, love your Coaster... I have a 92 Coaster also. It’s basic at the moment but you’ve given me some great ideas. I have solar panels on the roof and struggle to get up there to keep them clean. May I ask what sort of ladder your using? Thanks and I look forward to more vids 🌸
Hey guys, I know I’m a few years late lol love this interior and wondering if you can remember what the fabric was and colour etc that you used for the seat cushions? Love it 😍
Hey legends what an awesome job, this is really inspiring. Quick question, did you get cushions made in Adelaide for the couch? Not sure who does them. :)
You guys nailed the layout. Really like the archway into bedroom and the shower outside is the way to go
Thanks! Yeah the archway really adds a lot to the bus build.
People are complaining about the bathroom, but I looooveeee the shower idea. The fact you don’t even have to set up much is nice!
Yeah it honestly works a lot better for us. There's nothing like a hot outdoor shower. It's also important for us to not have the interior so cramped because its our work space as well as living space
Interior colors and materials very relaxing, overall very nicely done, enjoy yourselves

That arch to the bedroom 😍😍😍😍
It's our favourite part 😍😍
I think this is the best van I’ve ever seen. Love that it’s open, and you still have lots of storage, a nice bed and nice kitchen space!! Love it!
Thank you, we are very happy with the build the openness and connection to outside is key for us. We’re not fans of feeling Claustrophobic 😂

Thank you! Luke is a shopfitter/cabinet maker so if definitely helped with the quality of the build 😊
