    We have just finished building our tiny house school bus conversion and begun living full time on the road in our small home, and we're totally off grid.
    So take a look at the tiny house bus conversion tour (also known as a skoolie!) get some small house design ideas, and tell us what you think.
    Over the course of 2 years we took an old school bus and did a custom bus conversion (known as a skoolie), building it to meet the needs of our family.
    We are the Dove Londons: a full time travel, special needs, family parenting two amazing kids with cerebral palsy (cp). We have recently begun living full time on the road in our tiny house bus conversion (skoolie)

      That's what I thougt too. They did not anticipate it. The living area up to the kitchen is more spaceous so their bedrooms and toliet and bath are just fit for them.... I suggest them to make blueprint of the whole bus area with respective measurement according to its function; living area, kitchen, rooms and toilet and bath...

    • @hardcyd3r
      @hardcyd3r 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Eh, there are too many variables that make this lifestyle unsustainable in the long run.
      Being a mobile home, it'll have it's fair share of maintenance and breakdowns, the children will grow up without any real privacy, they can't really have many friends over for sleepovers or other kid things, plus when mom and dad need to retire and settle down, a bus isn't wheel chair or handicap friendly for living in.
      It's cute for singles, or for glamping, but there's nothing envious about 4 people in such a small space.
      Just imagine the first time you have to go to the bathroom for a taco Bell blow out! Lol

    There are so many bus conversions out there. I have viewed a lot of them. I think yours is the best. There are some that are designed beautifully, but they seem cluttered or they seem to leave out an important element like a shower. Yours is roomy and airy and I love your organization. I love your bedroom. I would live in your cozy office space. Best wishes on your adventures.

    I'm the ex wife of an over the road truck driver and I can honestly say, living on the road is "one" of the best experiences I've ever had. Found a place to eat in Wikkiup, Arizona. The couple was from NJ and living their dream on an Indian reservation. Having had a glimpse of that life, I can easily see how living off the grid, is a much less stressful and peaceful way of life.

    Well designed space, sensible and functional. Love the large windows which are classic and stylish. I don't think I could improve on anything you have done. Well done!!
    You seem a lovely family, and the kids are having the time of their lives instead of being stuck in daycare with working parents gone all day. This is enriching for them. I would focus on teaching them languages at this age, they absorb it like sponges.
    With regard to your bookshelves, I saw a guy use paracord - 2 cords across each shelf to keep stuff in. Only takes two holes either side. You want to make the cord overlap the outside edges of shelf to get maximum clearance inside. See Lee Blake's video on his Sprinter van build. He has a genius for organizing down to the smallest detail. I found it instructive and full of ideas.

It's has very minimal space, it feels like a dollhouse and because I am very fragile, it will be easier to movie around in a tiny house. What an amazing family! You have such a beautiful tiny home on wheels. I came across your channel as we are researching alternative dwellings for our precious small family (on The South Coast, NSW). We also have 2 boys (one is also called Zac (he is Zacharie) and we have a Sam (Samuel). I was thinking I know Jess from somewhere! I remembered that you were in a year or so below me at Northern Beaches Christian School, in Sydney, NSW. Much love and God Bless Bel xx

    Very cool! Love that they kept all of the windows. Add furniture slides to the bottom of the baskets under the bed and they will slide out much easier. They just stick on and stay on. I got mine at the Dollar Plus Store, don't know if you have them their but check eBay or Amazon. Super cheap super helpful.
    Just a thought.
