I think it's safe to say now. But at some point, Oda confirmed that Ace was born to die, both in-world and out-of-world. Supposedly his editor kept trying to stop him from killing Ace, but he said it was too late to save Ace, as Marineford was already airing.
It was the best decision to kill Ace, and very surprising Oda barely kills any important characters till that point.
Maybe because he wanted the ace death to hit even harder that way.
like an actual living earthquake, his final words shook the world to its core - Whitebeard
Blackbeard said something similar just before he took whitebeards fruit. "I'm about to put up a show that's going to shake the world to its core." I also think it's foreshadowing after he got the fruit that he said, "...and the power to shake the heavens." Meaning that eventually one of his final plans will be to destroy the Holy Land.

Roger said to find the one piece which instigated a pirate era, but there were still many people who didn't think it was actually real. Like at saobody captain kid mentions lots of people laughed at him for believing in the one piece and even Luffy said he doesn't even wanna know if it's real. Whitebeard basically just confirmed it's real. It'd be weird for two legends to lie about it.

It's not only Blackbeard wanted to kill Whitebeard btw. Many powerful pirates wanted to kill one of yonkou mostly for notoriety. Whitebeard being one of them meaning many ppl wanted his head. Yes, seemingly Buggy too, although he just pretending.

The "Laugh Tale" reveal is a reveal for both Japanese AND English; it was originally spelled ラフテル in Japanese, which is "Ra-fu-te-ru.” For most Japanese, who speak no English, that doesn't have a particular meaning, just like the romanized "Raftel" doesn't for English speakers. But the reveal of "Laugh Tale" in the story was the fucking NAME "Laugh Tale" WRITTEN IN MASSIVE ENGLISH LETTERS ACROSS THE SCREEN. You don't think that's supposed to convey a level of importance? Rub your two braincells together; this gave BOTH Japanese AND English speakers the true pronunciation or "meaning" of the word, it's good writing and you are fucking spoiling it.
