- In this video I discuss three of the most popular Premium Bible Publishers. I go over the differences, variation and comparison of the bibles from different publishers and how they compare to each other. As well as the variation you'll find between bibles from each publisher. This should give you some great questions to ask yourself before buying an expensive bible. There are some differences between bibles from the same publisher that are not apparent at first. I hope it helps people in their decision as they consider which premium bible to purchase.

I’m so happy I watched this video! It’s so important to know what you are REALLY getting! The second Allen you showed would have really upset me! Ghosting is the worst!! I have 2 Crossway bibles that are much nicer! I have been leaning toward Schuyler as my choice for my first premium bible.

Schuyler (Sky-ler) makes a fantastic Bible. Unsurpassed quality and craftsmanship. In fact, in my opinion Schuyler beats out R .L. Allan and Cambridge. Although all 3 make fantastic Bibles.

Thomas Nelson, which is now part of Harper Collins, is using 2k Denmark to do their current Bibles. Most of their printing is done in China. Although not quite the same quality, the Nelson Premier is delivering quite good bang for the buck. Humble Lamb is also printed in China and they produce a pretty nice product as well.

This was a great review. I as you think the Allen Soverign Limited Edition was my first premium bible. I do love everything about it. I just wish they would do this in different translations. I also on Limited Edition NLT and NASB. I use them and write in them. I own two Schuyler's NASB and ESV quentel. I wish I had watched your videos prior to purchasing.

Great review! I love my Cambridge Concord Goatskin Bible. It's my daily driver. I'm getting ready to purchase the Allen 62 Longprimer Sovereign, Black Meriva Calfskin. On the Allen 62 Longprimer Sovereign Bibles, Royal Jongbloed does the printing and the binding. On the Schuyler KJV Bibles the 2K Denmark is the type set. Schuyler Bibles are printed and bound by Royal Jongbloed.

I purchased a Schuyler and man, it is hands down my favorite of the premium bibles. I’ve got multiple from each and more, and my absolute favorite.
That Schuyler Bible is so stunning! I’m new to the premium Bible arena and noticing that I find the blue under the gilding is my preference...just a different kind of beautiful!!

I really can’t afford a premium Bible, and I’m very happy with Leathersoft and TruTone bindings. HOWEVER... If I could buy a premium Bible, it might very well be a Schuylarv, just because of the dark, clear printing. I have glaucoma, so font and type size are what I typically look for in a Bible. I would love to own a Schuyler Bible, in the largest type they offer.

I sold my house, so...I ordered a Nelson NKJV Premiere Bible... in a beautiful blue. It will arrive Sunday.
I will be 78 on 9-11-21, and I see an NKJV Quentel in my future. It Eli sm hoping Schuyler will produce an NKJV Thinline. It will be Imperial Blue, or that lovely purple.
I’ve noticed with RL Allan Bibles that they tend to use inexpensive book blocks with an inexpensive type settings and then they just put their leather over them. They do have some Bibles that have premium book blocks with premium type settings but you have to be careful when you buy from that company because RL Allan won’t put that in the description.
However, Cambridge and Schuyler are always premium.
I love the KJV so I guess I'm lucky that Allan happens to make some of the (if not the) best bibles in KJV!

I heard the new NASB SCR's being released in January are going to have better paper. I'm thinking of getting one
I don't personally care for the scr but prefer dual column. I like the NASB, and have the Foundation Publications version with China printing. Don't like the thin paper! But it is relatively inexpensive. So I appreciated the review of the R.L. Allan edition in petrol blue.
I agree. They should make some Schuyler's like the Caxton. 5.5 x 8.5
I bought a Allan long primer and were the ribbons are when I open my bible it lifts up a little the pages from the across small white line that looks like ribbon material. Is that normal?
I own a Cambridge goatskin wide margin NKJ a NKJ HUMBLE LAMB AND today I ordered another Humble Lamb 1st edition KJ lion. Humble Lamb is very new publisher and have excellent bibles. They use premium full grain goatskin leather and use full-grain calfskin liners. Use Smith-sewn bindings, Lifetime Guarantee. I wish I could show you mine. They are reasonably priced, they do have seconds which are way cheaper but you cannot see why it would be a second. Just perfect.
I was looking on Lifeway, and they had "simulated" leather.. what exactly is that? Is that like the Tru-tone?

I have a purple Schyler QUENTEL NKJV which is nice but I find the print rather to the grayish side. Also the purple goatskin is SO dark it borders on blackish/purple. Had I seen it in person I would not have bought it honestly. I bought a Cambridge Turquoise a few months ago and find myself reading that most often now. The font is dark and very readable.
Just because it says it "printed in Netherlands" dont mean that joengblood was actually the one that printed that block.
i am sadly to poor to get a nice high end bible like that. i got my bible from good will. it's a KJV days Harper and Row printed it. that's all I know about it
Hey, fancy Bibles can be expensive but you don't need one! All the same there are some advantages to more expensive ones (not so much the looks, which are great but unnecessary, but things like the strength and lasting value (because who wants the Bible they have come to know and love to fall apart!). If you do want a nicer one keep looking at used book stores, opp shops and things like this, I have found some amazing quality (and even rare) Bibles for 25c. Otherwise it might be worth asking your church, as many will be happy to give you one from their lost and found bins if not one of their pew or gift Bibles (which should be in the same version as they use if they only use one, which makes it easier to follow along as a bonus). If you google free Bibles there are a few other services which will give one to you (especially if you are American, our options are limited down here in Australia (just make sure that they aren't a cult group or unorthodox, as the Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons and a few other such groups will happily give you a Bible (often a pretty untrustworthy one, either because it is an in-house 'translation' or because of the notes that come with it) and probably some other literature or a visit but you're better off steering clear of such offers).

In Genesis 1:1 in the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth... If the word heaven is plural(heavens) it's counterfeit. Also below that it reads.... And the Earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep in the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters... If the word spirit is not with a capital S it's counterfeit check both for one can be correct and the other could not be they both need to be correct. That is the first thing I look for when checking if a King James version is counterfeit or not

They don’t rebind. They purchase text blocks and bind them. There’s no previous binding, so there no re-binding.
Sometimes RL Allan will buy the text print of a certain bible, like what you have there with the NASB Readers Addition, they bought that text print from Lockman Foundation and then they took that text print and sent it to a Jongbloed in the Netherlands and then Jongbloed put a book block together using their paper and the FP text print and then created a bible for R.L Allan from premium materials.
I have that same bible from foundation Publications and one from R.L. Allan.
Look it up as first being made by Foundation Publications.
A while back though maybe even as far back as 7 to 10 years now or so...Foundation used premium French paper in that bible same as they used in the In Touch Ministry bible NASB.
Seriously best paper ever. They didn’t hold back at all.

A few days ago I bought a goatskin nkjv. Frankly I wish I'd picked a more solid leather that isn't floppy like a taco. But, what's inside is good.

Schuyler print is light compared to dark bold FONT of Cambridge.
From what I’ve noticed with these premium bible publishers, they always seem to reserve their top tier work for the King James translation. At least with Allan and Cambridge. Of course that’s my favorite translation so I don’t spend much time looking at the other translations.

Now there is Local Church Bible Publishers and Church Bible Publishers. The man who started LCBP split away to form CBP. The CBP bibles seem a little nicer than LCBP from what I have seen but I do not own a CBP yet.
I'm ordering one of each CBP and LCBP in Hand size and Mid size I have a Compact reference from LCBP wanting larger print and a Note Taker bible
I have a LCBP Note takers because I like to write and take notes all over my bibles, it's so beautiful, nice and will last a while.
Yes, they only sell true (HOLY ) Bibles at LCBP, praise God!!! :) And only at cost. You can get the (of the WORLD) counterfeit bible's restricted (copyright) with missing scriptures, where someone is making huge amounts of profits pretty much everywhere else.

Hi Nicole, yea I'm going to review that one, I have it in tru-tone though, not genuine leather. The genuine leather one is not that great in quality. The tru tone is more durable and a much better price.

I have a Cambridge goatskin Bible, it's very good, but my Thomas Nelson goatskin is far better.
Thomas Nelsons premier collection is a great great choice in my opinion.
then please check out Isaiah 14:12 in various versions, 1st John 5:7, Acts 8:37 to start off. do your own research independant then.
You won't find any problem in the NKJV, NASB, ESV, or NIV84. These, along with the KJV, are the most widely known and best-selling translations.
Unless you consider missing verses or conflating Christ and Lucifer a problem.

something that really sucks is that there are no "luxury" bibles in spanish!!! as a Christian I like the Reina Valera 1960 version, so there is an idea if anyone wants to make those with real leather, there are a loooot of people that would buy it!
Your best bet is to have a rebind done.
German bibles are also poor in quality bindings. Most are sub-average by english standards.
I'm only aware of 1 good bible in the level of a Cambridge.

Nelson puts verse #s. In RED in PREMIER bibles. Schuyler DOES NOT. Nelson is at least half the price..of Schuyler.

That's because you compare them to the kjv and not the manuscripts used to translate them from. One can never use a bible translation for your base text.
The KJV has added verses not the other way around !!
The Holy Spirit speaks to man in the spirit, not KJV, NIV, ESV, etc. People speak British English, Bostonian, New York, southern, Australian, Indian and other foreign languages. Wow that Nasb is horrible I totally would have returned it. Its the same crappy text block in their lockmans.....that's just REDICULOUS!! I like my cheap Lockmans but it's just that..cheap China built budget paper and print.
How can a company sale a bible at the same pricepoint knowing that the text block is garbage. Imho if a company prides itself on excellence then they should say NO we cant use that text block, it's like putting a Ford tempo motor and interior in a Porsche and selling it for the same price.
I totally agree. I have the Lockman edition, which has a bad flimsy leather cover and the inexpensive text block. I am disappointed that Allan often uses very cheap text blocks and charges very high "Allan" prices for them.
In regards to the Allan NASB, that is the problem you will have with ALL NASB's... The Lockman Foundation will not give printing permissions to anyone. This is the biggest reason why the ESV was created... Lockman always had terrible printing, but wouldn't allow anyone else to print it, either...
You can get the now from zondervan on the Premier range. Quality is just hit or miss.
This must have changed recently. My Allan NASB was printed by Royal Jongbloed.
@@terryhartung4159 Royal Jongbloed just recently got permissions to print on behalf of Schuyler in the last decade or so. Before then, there was very little NASB printed by anyone other than Lockman.
I don't like Allan. Cambridge is best. Schuyler is next.

Andrew Conway - I heard her on the radio claiming that she had Devine revelation from the Holy Spirit about her "acrostic algebra" she details in that book which immediately discredits her as a false teacher. I recommend you read "The King James Only Controversy" by James White. He thoroughly refutes Riplinger's bogus claims. Anyone who claims revelation from the Holy Spirit and contradicts the Bible is a false teacher, if their claims are consistent with the Bible, then their revelations are unneeded.
Andrew, you need to remember that ALL English language Bibles are translations of the old manuscripts, done by man. The best-known ones (NKJV, NASB, ESV, NIV) have been translated by teams of theologians and experts in the original languages. The Bible was originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, NOT in English, and certainly not in the 1600's. Btw, the version of the KJV that we (and you) now read is not that same 1600's version. The English language has changed and revisions to its language were made. Check that out.
The KJV is an excellent translation, but just one of several excellent translations that English readers are blessed to have available. You need to read the message "From the Translators" in the front of the KJV. They don't claim to have done a perfect translation.
You might also benefit from going to a website such as biblegateway that makes it easy to compare passages from up to five different translations side by side. If you do, you will see for yourself that these more recent translations do not distort God's word, much less deny the deity of Christ or other such false and ridiculous claims that Riplinger likes to spout. Respectfully, that may blow your mind.

+ec fan I understand that "man" translated the originals into what we have today. But you are ignoring a very important thing. You say that God used sinful men like David (adultery, murder) to write scripture (Psalms) and it was perfect and inerrant in the original. But, you say that God cannot use sinful men to tranlslate the scripture into the most universal language the planet has ever had since the tower of Babel. You are limiting God. You are saying that God cannot preserve his word when he says so in scripture. The fact is that Satan is the perfect counterfeit for Jesus Christ, and his "Bibles" are fooling MILLIONS of professing Christians around the world.

Gods word should be free
There are many ways to get God’s Word for free. A premium goatskin leather option printed in a typeface that took several months to create and on premium paper isn’t going to be free unless somebody buys it for you.
People that don’t use a KJV bible try to find Acts 8:37. Much love may you take ahold of Gods Infallible word for the English speaking people the AV 1611 KJV bible.

The nkjv has it, the mev has it, as well as many other translationa Your standard can never be the kjv. Go to the TR as that is your kjv NTs base text. The kjv is not the only translation that uses the TR.

You could buy 10 LCBP Bibles for the same amount of money and give 9 of them away to people and still have the word of God for yourself.
