Si supieran lo difícil que es, que requiere mas energía que llegar normal y encima te expone a una lesión, no comentarían estupideces como que es ilegal o que hizo trampa.
Gana quien cruce primero la meta usando impulso generado por el mismo, acabar con el cuerpo tirado hacía adelante requiere mas energía que llegar normal simplemente que si llegas dando un mal paso te tiras o te pierdes la victoria.
Intenten dar un "extra" después de correr a todo pulmón en dos vueltas a la pista y después me platican lo fácil que es hacer esa "trampa".

In his last ditch dive he was in a horizontal position with only head and shoulders ahead of his rival. The other 3/4 body parts trailed in behind his rival. It is not a flying contest. Why didn't he flap his arms??? A joke.

Not to labour this point, but I'll flog this dead horse anyway. If it had been a swimming event, let's say the breast stroke, he would have been disqualified for reverting to an alternative one, let's say the crawl. And this indeed is what happened. He changed not stride but event. It becomes the counter-intuitive flying act of throwing oneself, if not under the feet of his competitor, that is under the proverbial bus, it is with flailing arms an attempt to win at all costs. One runs primarily on one's legs and feet in a running event and that's how one should finish in an upright position, in a running stride. His torso, legs and and feet crossed the finish line almost in a horizontal position, hardly exaggerating, after the black runner had done so legitimately in his stride dipping past the post. .
Such tactics have crept or should I say dived in in track events and such unorthodoxy should be seen as such, unorthodox and illegitimate, the ever more prevalent winning strategy of diving to prevent one's opponents who win, and this case won, fairly and squarely. Check frame by frame the crossing of the finish line by the two runners.
Chauvinism, homecrowd, or partisan officials should not be used as pretext or excuse. Ce n'est pas beau tout ca...
