I just picked up a 2002 for $630. It was garage kept and she had called the junk yard and that’s what they offered her to haul it away. She didn’t want strangers coming to her home to look at it to but it. I asked her why she had an extra vehicle in her garage while I was doing some tree work for her and she told me that, I offered her the $630 and she took it. Car is in mint shape too. I’ve picked up all kinds of stuff from people while doing tree work over the years. A few years ago I got a 2008 Nissan Sentra for $300 and gave it to my daughter for her first car. A few months later, the same people called me back to see if I wanted to buy their 2000 Infinity for my other daughter for $1000 and it was in great shape like the Nissan was so I grabbed it up too. There’s always good deals if u really look around.
No offense My mama used to have a Sliver 2004 Toyota Corolla, then a sliver 2008 Ford Focus Sedan and now a white 🤍🤍 2003 Acura MDX with gray 🩶🩶 interior.
J series engine in there is pretty much bullet proof. Main thing to worry about is the transmissions. That era of Hondas were unfortunately plagued with transmission issues. I’d suggest a trans cooler if you don’t already have one.
I put a larger trans cooler on mine and got some adhesive vinyl seat repair patches on amazon. They worked great! Look a little bit better than ductape. Haha
Mine sounds the same as far as starting mine is black on black inside and out runs great my AC didn't work but I had it fixed it was just a couple of seals . Mine has 102,000 thousand miles fading on the bumpers with the clear coat but looks sharp and my interior like brand new
I just bought a acura mdx 2002 it need lil work Im finna over haul the engine & transmission I put a supercharger on it wit a water injection kit get lil power out of it
@@crv_tom I was trying to cut the line under steering column to get to that stupid nut and ended up nicking the other steering rack line next to it. Ugh... Just doubled the work 😢😢

Got one for $700 only need a transmission found one for $400 rebuild runs good
Use the Honda transmission fluid, 145,000 miles no transmission problems
transmission cooler keep the strain down on it full synthetic fluid

My rear tail lights are perfect but the headlights did fade
Lift it! lift it! lift it!
I believe it's 18 mph with the VTM , , The 2001 has more towing capacity than the newer ones 5000 lbs compared to 3500
Awesome, thanks for the info on this!
Have you had to change out the high pressure steering line yet? Apparently it's a common fail point. Which is why I need to change mine now. Haha :-(
Yes unfortunately dealing with that now and a few other things.

What were the symptoms
the early generation of those cars have water leaks coming in from the firewall.
Thanks for the heads up
