I like to think that the monolith represents parts of the precursor's history, we start with stone structures and murals of them and the light, and the more we progress more dark and abstract is the ambient and in the zenith is the actual state of that civilization, the witness
Well, the Witness is quite literally the Monolith itself. So we’re technically running thru the Witness itself until we get out of Verity, where we see where it’s placed itself upon a marrowed-out Tree of Silver Wings, amongst the debris and leftover artifacts from its incision inside the Traveler. But up to that point, we basically are running thru the Witness’s body, in a sense. And yeah, of course the rooms will be reminiscent of the Precursor’s own lost culture, of how they were somewhat similar to ancient Egyptians in their practices and architectures. The story behind the rooms and what the Witness is essentially trying to do in each of the rooms is especially fascinating as well, especially Verity.
@@twelved4983nope. It was confirmed the witness is not the whole monolith. Bungie said in a stream it’s just attached to it and we’re traversing the physical monolith
I really enjoy this new format. It gives an opportunity to listen to the track in it's entirety/gives an "extended" version of the track besides the "in game version" Promethean is doing (or has done until now, these videos will be dearly missed) So definitely a huge thank you/thanks y'all for making these videos and all the music archiving in general. Very, very much appreciated
It's an opener to tell you: "Hey, the end of the universe as you know it is just around the corner, you CAN'T afford to waste time" (literally also considering you have a timer for every encounter)
i love the amount of stress this one is supposed to induce it matches the encounter pretty well since you're trying to speed through all of the rooms as fast as possible, kill the tormentors, and ping pong between plates all within 3 - 4 minutes another part also being the fact messing up or not doing well enough to dunk enough resonance can completely ruin a run probably my favorite track from the raid with herald's coming in at a very close second
When I was watching Aztecross’ team do this encounter for a few hours, I could hear this in the background and loved it. I’m glad it made its way to TH-cam. 😁
6:59, 11:16 easily the best part with the unveiled sound effect from beyond light. the sound effect used brings such angst and dread to the song and makes me feel like my guardian is engulfed in darkness, and dont have any way out and should just succumb to it
The music sets the perfect tone with the encounter as you are put in a race against time to prevent the end of the world.
More than that, the end of the Universe....
