This game is so above and beyond in terms of puzzle design that I'm starting to wonder what the final-episode review is going to look like. Are we going to see the first-ever 11/10??
I just want to point out that the glyphs you collect are vaguely related to the mechanic. Like how this one looks like a set of wire cutters, like you'd use to cut a fence
It's a small thing but I like how the game plays the level completion music before you actually complete the level. I guess they programmed it to know when you're just a few moves away from the solution.
I am terrible at puzzle games, and I don’t often buy them. But I’m going to wishlist this game and anytime I find out someone likes puzzle games, I’m going to buy this game for them. The devs deserve my money for impressing me so much with how friggin’ above and beyond they went!
I've only got two rockets left, but I can see hints of more things to solve. I too am excited to see Tyler solve the puzzles I have seen in my playthourough.
Love how he cheeses a puzzle that uses the stuff mechanic. Tyler never does things the correct way in this game which is another reason this game is so cool, and you can know the correct way based on the hint puzzle.
@@Nuclearburrit0 it involves putting the food inside the nook of the 'c' shape worm. When you go to eat the food, you're wedged inside the c worm and can't grow to length 3. You can then travel upwards and connect with the other worm and do a similar thing to move left. Once you're above the fence you out from the worm and the food is consumed breaking the fence.
Is it though? He still had to break the gate which seems to the main mechanic of the area. Unintended sure but not broken like bypassing the J hook puzzle with a simple slice.
@@cameronbyer7688 I don't know if this is unintended for now. It's common that levels that create bridges can be solved a simpler way at first, but require something cleverer for the "true solution" that sets up the bridge for the rocket.
I feel like a lot of great puzzle games don’t have a lot of different things, so that it can focus on having complex interactions between those objects
This worm world is the best by far, only rivaled by the crystal worm with some real meta stuff. The tricky setups where you must keep the food in the mouth, the ingenious setups with the water surfing structs and with some very surprising usage of the fence-bending tech. Chefs kiss.
The puzzle in 7:45 - 9:14 was cheesed, you were meant to eat the food on the island but use the worms to make it stuck in your mouth and go all the way to the fence. Great vid btw.
@@flying-sheep Indeed. Main reason i bought this game and beat it ahead of him are these mechanics that are just hiding in plain sight in these levels. Sometimes you have to come back to level and use what you learned to get alternate solutions
I love how the game starts simple, but is now trying to make you think bigger, not with just the puzzles themselves, but also with the entire world around said puzzles
the hint system is really good at telling you you're on the right track and not solving the problem for you, and I think that's as incredible as the rest of the game.
I absolutely love seeing him have so much fun with a puzzle game like this. I hope someday he gives Stephen's Sausage Roll another shot, since the inspiration is so clear
I've now noticed at least 2 puzzles that have since had an update since Tyler recorded this series that patched out his solutions as they were unintentional. One is from part 7, at 9:19 in the video, The second is this video, at 7:49. The one from this video in particular I'm very disappointed that Tyler solved it the way he did (not that there's anything wrong with his solution, just that the actual one is better (is harder to get to and uses more mechanics)). Anyway, I'm mainly pointing this out in the hopes that Tyler will at some point replay these levels to solve them with the intended solution. I wouldn't even care if he doesn't record it, I just want him to experience the puzzles in their full glory.
oh man I'm now envisioning a puzzle where you have to knockdown a fence to be able to slice a part of yourself off by rolling onto the now freed cutting part of another fence.
Don't worry, you're required to do the intended solution of the puzzle to connect the lines so you'll see it in later episodes (assuming tyler is going for 100%)
I’m not gunna lie, your puzzle game series are the only videos I don’t like as much (despite that being a heavy aspect of your channel). However, this game has been enjoyable to watch. And I’d never had seen it if I didn’t watch you cause I don’t care about puzzle games lol.
This is probably my favorite game to watch since poly bridge 2 2 years ago. Unless I'm getting my timelines wrong and A Monsters Expedition or Cosmic Express were still coming out. Anyway fantastic game I love this.
@@BryanLu0 you were supposed to jam the food in your mouth and keep moving inside the vertical worm and then switch to the horizontal worm at the diagonal walls
Funny enough, being able to pilot the ship will help him enter the last puzzle... but for a completely different reason to what he expects. (It helps because you get to read the hint in the tail room, not because the can points down. [The can points clockwise from the direction you throw it and the hint tells you how to use that fact.])
Fun fact, you can enter that puzzle without throwing yourself against the tree as the hint says. If you throw your ring just right against the corner of the wall it will bounce back and fall onto the puzzle thing

Oooh, that's cool
only very vaguely though
Either the mechanic or the ships theme (cactus area comes to mind)
or it could resemble the things on the ship, w2 is a mushroom, w4 is a cactus, w5 is a spiral (like the ones on the candies)

Everybody here knows this game's at least getting a 10/10 and we're all for it, can't wait to see this through to the end.
i like how the hints not only tell you what to do but also let you figure out how they work (like how to get a set up for it)
yeah that's a good way to still give you the "i figured it out" moment compared to just watching a video.
Dude this is my favourite series
Crazy how many different, maybe or maybe not intended solutions Tyler finds. I did some of these puzzles very differently.
It has been said before by the devs in the comments, he has done unintended solutions
Love how he cheeses a puzzle that uses the stuff mechanic. Tyler never does things the correct way in this game which is another reason this game is so cool, and you can know the correct way based on the hint puzzle.
He will have to solve it the intended way at some point to 100% the game, it's not really cheese
He solved it the correct way in the next video.
