Y'all, my belated apologies but R5 of the face is supposed to be front-post, not back-post. I'm even doing front-post in the video, although I am explaining how to do back post.
I had just watched a TH-cam video describing the difference between back post and front post before watching this video. I confused myself for a second!
I'm confused because of row 9 of the tail it says 3sc, inc, ch3+ turn but then you have that it should only have 3 stitches but ITF it's 3 single crochets and am increase shouldn't it have 5 stitches
I love everything you do! Your patterns are amazing and your tutorials are so clear (and if they aren't, you're quick to fix it). Thank you for being so awesome and keep up the beautiful work!
holy shit i am SO making this one for my dad! he has a huge aquarium in the lving room that he built himself and when i was younger he kept a pufferfish in it for a couple of years. he will love this!
LOVE how you listed the pattern clearly in subtext while actually doing it and explaining what you were doing. This is an amazing video thank you so much ❤
This pattern is absolutely genius. It's smart and simple. When I looked for a pufferfish tutorial, i couldn't believe the video could be under 10 minutes. I made one in just a little while and will absolutely be making more
This one, I think I can handle him!!! Yay!!!! So happy you're back , hope you are feeling ok... Please take care of yourself, we want to keep you for loooooong!😃
Pufferfish are my favorite animal ever, I’ve kept several of them in aquariums in the past. Thank you so much for making this pattern! My little puffer is so cute, I love him!
So glad to see you back 😊 hope your feeling a lot better 🤞🏼 the fish is so cute 😊 can’t wait to make one for myself ☺️ Stay safe and healthy ✌🏼out for now 🙋🏻♀️
I luv him!! The fins are beautiful. So lacey. With a couple of small alterations, this Puffer could become an Angler quite easily. HEY! What if you made an Angelfish for a Christmas tree topper?!
I absolutely love it! Pufferfish are a favorite of mine as far as aquatics go, and this one is adorable! I really want to make one with velvet yarn and a larger hook so I can put an enclosed pouch of weighted glass beads inside the stuffing.
this is the cutest pattern ever! 🐡🐡🐡super easy to follow! i didnt have the big eyes so i just made a mahic ring out of black wool. 😁 thanks so much for all your amazing patterns!
Gonna work on crocheting this on my flight tomorrow. On my way to scuba dive the Georgia Aquarium for my friends birthday. I’m hoping to complete this Pufferfish before we come home to give her as a momento & birthday present to remember our scuba experience 🤞
So super adorable! Missed you the last 2 weeks, infact I almost messaged you to see I things where ok. Kinda shocked you didn't do this as a minimal sew pattern by including the fins as a join to their respective rows.
I almost did, but I like the scrunched fins, and at the time of filming I didn't feel like I could communicate how to scrunch and join in the row, so I simplified by just sewing. Join the fins in the second row of spines if you want to avoid sewing :)
I was going to make one with a REALLY deep mouth, put a balloon in there and have a pufferfish that could puff up...alas I could not get it working quite right!
You need to start classes on how to make crochet tutorials. Seriously, EVERYTHING about this tutorial was perfect. Written instruction, th speed you are working, your explanations...all perfect! It takes a ton of time and effort to make one of these videos, and I truly appreciate you.❤ 👍Subbed😊
Gracias por los subtítulos , también me encanta ver trabajar despacio a las maestras es una terapia linda y relajante ya hice este bello pez globo me resultó más sencillo de lo que pensé
Love this, easy to follow, have made a lot of amigurumis but I’m struggling with the TCs in that mine aren’t as pronounced as yours? Mine are barely visible, even after pulling them out a little. I’m using a medium weight polyester yarn (Lion Brand Yarns, Feels Like Butta) with their recommended 4mm hook.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! The pufferfish is such a cutie! I do have a question for the body part right after switching to the lighter color, though. You said it's a row of 12 back-post stitches (entering from the back, going around the post and exiting out the back). However, it seems that in the video itself you're creating "front"-post stitches? Entering from the front of the piece rather than the back. Also, it seems different from the back-post stitches previously done for the eye sockets. My fishie's mouth just won't turn out the way yours does. Could you please clear up my confusion?
Hi, you are correct, and I can't believe I didn't notice this at the time, or since then. It's supposed to be front-post for the mouth, and I almost have to admire my commitment in the video to very clearly explaining how to do the wrong stitch *facepalm*
@@ComplicatedKnots Thank you so much for clarifying! Your explanation in the video was very helpful for the eye sockets with back-post stitches, though! 😊
I loved this pattern so much! I planned to make this for months! But when you said to do those back post stitches, I was a little confused since I thought the stitches you were making were front post stitches.😅❤
The sockets for the eyes are shaped like a little bowl correct? I'm not sure how to sew them onto the fish. If you look at the assembled fish from the side will the eye sockets still be in the shape of a bowl? In other words what row of the eye socket do you sew onto the fish?
This is an easy tutorial to follow I'm just stuck on R13.. How do you cout the triple stitch to get 9 counts and end on 45?? I've tried so many attempts and I'm lost... Tha k you!!!
The pufferfish is definitely getting added to my list of patterns to try, and this one will probably get me to buy safety eyes. All of your designs are super adorable, I'm actually attempting to make your samplesaurs to give to my younger cousin for Christmas. I have a question about construction with these kinds of patterns, is it normal if the rows kind of morphs into working up as a spiral? It happened twice on two different patterns and I wasn't sure if it's intentional of if I was making a mistake somewhere and not making my rows high enough since it's my fist time making a something 3d like that
Hi! In general I do work my projects as continuous spirals. The exception is things like the fins in this pattern - they should be worked as flat rows that you turn at the end of.
Hello! I can see how R10 might trip you up :) You read from left to right, and take it one step at a time. Start with 18sc. Then complete what's inside the brackets the number of times shown on the outside of the brackets, so repeat "5sc, inc" 3 times. This should mean you are working 39 stitches in total. Written out in full, the row is: 18sc, 5sc, inc, 5sc, inc, 5sc, inc. Hope this helps!
@@ComplicatedKnots oh my goodness! I looked at it a hundred times and every time thought the 1 was a bracket and said [8, 3 [5sc, inc]. I knew it had to be something simple but never guessed it was my darn eyes! Thank you SO much for your help! *goes to get glasses*
Hi. I love this but Im having a problem understanding what this means: Row 10: 18sc, 3 (5sc, inc) I get the 5 sc and increase its the 18sc, 3 thats messing with me?

I'm trying to follow this, but you're writing is so small that I can't read it. I try pausing it, but that makes it worse. Is there anywhere else to see it. I see it goes from 36 to 39, but can't see where you add the 3 stitches.

4 single crochet +1 Treble crochet = 5 stitches in repeat. Do that 9 times. 9X5=45.

I love your pattern, but I don’t understand what you want me to do in R10,R11,R12. I knoe what 8sc but 3 is where I am stuck please help.
Thank you!
The pufferfish is amazing! One question though-would 20mm eyes work instead of the 21mms?
Absolutely. The margin for error when measuring eyes can be 2mm in either direction, so anything labelled anywhere from 19mm - 23mm should work :)
Thank you
I am probably just stuck on stupid but I can’t make sense out of row 10. Can someone please explain?
Hello! I can see how R10 might trip you up :) You read from left to right, and take it one step at a time.

18sc, (5sc, inc)x3
